1. As the top managers of their company, what types of issues might Bert and John have to deal with? Be as specific as possible. Which management functions might be most important to them? Why?
Ans.:
As top managers of the company, Bert and John have to set goals and make organization-wide decisions like analyzing sales figures, setting prices, organizing advertising campaigns, explore different marketing strategies etc. As top managers they might face the following issues: defining leadership style, uncertainty, sales and marketing, communications, motivation, etc.
Planning and organizing might be most important to them because as top managers of the company, they must make decisions, set goals and create strategies for achieving them. And also Bert and John have to arrange and organized their activities to achieve the stated goals.

2. Using descriptions from the case, describe Bert and John’s managerial style. Would this approach work for other organizations? Why or why not?
Ans.: Bert and John were managing the company based on their personal and business philosophy of simplicity, humor and humility. Yes this approach can work for other organizations because it promotes the company’s culture and also it makes the employees feel that they are part of the company.

This simple model of the demand side leads to some compelling consequences on the supply side. The discussion below starts with one time of day; two types of fares, business and leisure; and a primitive expression of capacity limits and revenue management.
