ABSTRACT My neighbor want to start a billing service company . He would like to hire me to design a computer network to meet his needs but has limited funds. I told him I could do it and I would discuss the possibilities and capabilities of a small network.

My neighbor wants to start a company call Bills R Us and would like to hire me to design the computer network for him. At this time he has no components of the network so I will have to work from scratch. The initial set up will be two workstations and a printer. He also informs me that he will need internet access with multiple email addresses. The need for security is low so the security suite doesn’t have to be complex. Since he is just starting the business he has limited funds. He needs to keep the overall start up cost to under $5000.00 and the monthly cost to under $200.00. I told him I would do it and this is the design I gave him.
First of all I need to start with the workstations themselves. Since he needs to track orders and keep an accounting data sheet I will have to have the right programs for him. We will connect the two workstations using the peer-to-peer network. This allows both computers to communicate with each other and share programs but can keep some files protected for the other computer (Dean, P3). Also with this network it is very simple and less expensive. The computers I would recommend for this would be the HP Compaq 6000 pro all in one business pc. This is an outstanding product cost $811.00 and will have great memory and storage for all his needs. This computer come with a 4 GB RAM, storage capacity of 320 GB and is loaded with Microsoft windows 7 professional. There are also up to 7 USB 2.0 ports which are great for small businesses

It is designed with a calculator which has multiple functions that can enable Mr. Green to be more accurate in the accounting functions of the business. The Windows 7 blog has the tracing tools that can be used to ensure the performance in many areas on the operating system and help to locate inefficient code path and control performance regressions that might occur on the process (Armstrong, 2002). ...Mr. Green wants to upgrade Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. I have researched this upgrade and will be describing concerns and options so Mr. Green’s business will be more efficient and capable of expanding in time. From the information you gave me Mr. Green, it appears that your stand-alone machines are capable of running Windows 7 Ultimate. It requires 1GHz processor, 2GB RAM (for 64 bit) and 20GB available disk space. My concern for the future would be to look into getting more RAM as you install different programs and have many applications running at the same time. Attached are graphs that will take you step by step in preparing to upgrade as well as the steps for using Windows Anytime Upgrade. Running the upgrade advisor will ensure that your systems are capable and compatible of running Windows 7 Ultimate. It will check your hardware, search for updates, check your applications, disk space, ensures computer functionality, also performs a full system backup and allows you to purchase Windows 7. The next graph walks you through Windows Anytime Upgrade which I believe will work for you since your systems already have windows 7 on them. The graph has you click start, control panel, system and security tab, and Windows Anytime Upgrade. When you get to that window, just click on go online to choose the windows 7 edition you would like and then click the buy button. It will then walk you through the install process. You may have realized that Home Premium does...

...Title: Figurative Language versus Literal Language Student: Jessica Figuereo Instructor: Dr. Chad Redwing Class: PHI 210 Date: 7/15/2013 We use all different types of languages to communicate effectively. Some use sign language, some speak, some write. There is a difference between literal language which means, "in accordance with, involving, or being the primary or strict meaning of the word or words" (Dictionary.com, 2013), and figurative language which means, "speech or writing that departs from literal meaning in order to achieve a special effect or meaning, speech or writing employing figures of speech" (Dictionary.com 21st Century Lexicon, 2013). In this paper we will discuss the different types of figurative languages, their meanings, their function and examples of each. An idiom "is a group of words whose meaning is different from the ordinary meaning of the words, an example would be Put a lid on it" (Oraclethinkquest, unk). This translation does not mean to literally put a lid on Tupperware, or on a bottle again it is a figurative language which means you want someone to be quiet. Maybe you are in church and the person next won’t stop trying to have a sidebar conversation with you while a sermon is being given. You can always say shhh, or can say something with more emphasis such as put a lid on it so that person gets the idea. However, you must know your audience when speaking to children using an idiom you might have to explain the meaning to them....

...data wharehouse Term Paper CIS 111 The concept of data warehousing is easy to understand—to create a central location and permanent storage space for the various data sources needed to support a company’s analysis, reporting and other functions (2011). This actually traces back to about 1990 and the works of Bill Inmom. Inmom defined a data warehouse as ‘a subject oriented, intergraded, time-variant and non-volatile collection of data in support of management’s decision making process’. Since that time, the data warehouses have become very large and single subject data marts have proliferated. There are some advantages to data warehousing are they are. A Data Warehouse Delivers Enhanced Business Intelligence, by providing data from various sources, managers and executives will no longer need to make business decisions based on limited data or their gut. In addition, “data warehouses and related BI can be applied directly to business processes including marketing segmentation, inventory management, financial management, and sales.” A Data Warehouse Saves Time, since business users can quickly access critical data from a number of sources, all in one place—they can rapidly make informed decisions on key initiatives. They will not waste precious time retrieving data from multiple sources. Not only that but the business execs can query the data themselves with little or no support from IT—saving more time...

Turn of the Screw

...home after the previous governess died. Douglas begins to read from the written record, and the story shifts to the governess’s point of view as she narrates her strange experience. The governess begins her story with her first day at Bly, the country home, where she meets Flora and a maid named Mrs. Grose. The governess is nervous but feels relieved by Flora’s beauty and charm. The next day she receives a letter from her employer, which contains a letter from Miles’s headmaster saying that Miles cannot return to school. The letter does not specify what Miles has done to deserve expulsion, and, alarmed, the governess questions Mrs. Grose about it. Mrs. Grose admits that Miles has on occasion been bad, but only in the ways boys ought to be. The governess is reassured as she drives to meet Miles. One evening, as the governess strolls around the grounds, she sees a strange man in a tower of the house and exchanges an intense stare with him. She says nothing to Mrs. Grose. Later, she catches the same man glaring into the dining-room window, and she rushes outside to investigate. The man is gone, and the governess looks into the window from outside. Her image in the window frightens Mrs. Grose, who has just walked into the room....

...character? To what extent is her final protest justified? How do the other characters portray themselves by their attitudes toward the ritual? Mrs. Tess Hutchinson stands out right from the start: she arrives at the lottery late. She explains to Mr. Summers that she was doing her dishes and forgot what day it was. The town treats her lateness lightly, but several people comment on it, “in voices just loud enough to be heard across the crowd, ‘Here comes your Missus, Hutchinson,’ and ‘ Bill, she made it after all.’” (Jackson 501). It is ironic that she is the one who wins the lottery, and is fated to be stoned. So Tess Hutchinson has already been noticed by people as one who is not entirely part of the group. Before the drawing she is friendly with the other women, pretending to be pleased to be present. The very moment that she sees is her family that draws the black dot, though, her egotism is evident. “You didn’t give him time enough to take any paper he wanted. I saw you. It wasn’t fair!” (Jackson 504). She continues to scream about the unfairness of the ritual up until her stoning. Mrs. Hutchinson knew the lottery was wrong, but she never did anything about it. She pretends as much as she could to enjoy it, when she truly hated it all along. Maybe Jackson is suggesting that the more hypocritical one is, the more of a target they are. Mrs. Hutchinson was clearly the target of her fears. I think sometimes we have no problem remarking on people’s adultery until it is ourselves that...

...May I beg that you will write at once to the mother of this unfortunate woman--to Mrs. Catherick--to ask for her testimony in support of the explanation which I have just offered to you?" I saw Miss Halcombe change colour, and look a little uneasy. Sir Percival's suggestion, politely as it was expressed, appeared to her, as it appeared to me, to point very delicately at the hesitation which her manner had betrayed a moment or two since. I hope, Sir Percival, you don't do me the injustice to suppose that I distrust you," she said quickly. "Certainly not, Miss Halcombe. I make my proposal purely as an act of attention to YOU. Will you excuse my obstinacy if I still venture to press it?" He walked to the writing-table as he spoke, drew a chair to it, and opened the paper case. "Let me beg you to write the note," he said, "as a favour to ME. It need not occupy you more than a few minutes. You have only to ask Mrs. Catherick two questions. First, if her daughter was placed in the Asylum with her knowledge and approval. Secondly, if the share I took in the matter was such as to merit the expression of her gratitude towards myself? Mr. Gilmore's mind is at ease on this unpleasant subject, and your mind is at ease—pray set my mind at ease also by writing the note." "You oblige me to grant your request, Sir Percival, when I would much rather refuse it." With those words Miss Halcombe rose from her place and went to the writing-table. Sir Percival thanked her, handed her a...

...He went to where Miss Mijares sat, a tall, big man, walking with an economy of movement, graceful and light, a man who knew his body and used it well. He sat in the low chair worn decrepit by countless other interviewers and laid all ten fingerprints carefully on the edge of her desk. She pushed a sheet towards him, rolling a pencil along with it. While he read the question and wrote down his answers, she glanced at her watch and saw that it was ten. "I shall be coming back quickly," she said, speaking distinctly in the dialect (you were never sure about these people on their first visit, if they could speak English, or even write at all, the poor were always proud and to use the dialect with them was an act of charity), "you will wait for me." As she walked to the cafeteria, Miss Mijares thought how she could easily have said, Please wait for me, or will you wait for me? But years of working for the placement section had dulled the edges of her instinct for courtesy. She spoke now peremtorily, with an abruptness she knew annoyed the people about her. When she talked with the jobless across her desk, asking them the damning questions that completed their humiliation, watching pale tongues run over dry lips, dirt crusted handkerchiefs flutter in trembling hands, she was filled with an impatience she could not understand. Sign here, she had said thousands of times, pushing the familiar form across, her finger held to a line, feeling the impatience grow at sight of the man...

Missed Appt

...Article 86 of the Uniform Code Of Military Justice. This Article covers Point and Place of Duty. That means from PT formation to COB that is where you will be. What a lot of Soldiers do not understand that includes appointments made by them or someone else. We have appointment times, SP times, formation times and many other start times that dictate we will be there. If a Convoy has an SP time of fifteen hundred hours and the Soldiers decide to show up late because they did not feel like getting ready on time people could die. If they rolled out on time, they may have avoided the ambush or avoided the Vbid that hit them in the bottleneck. It sounds extreme but time management plays a critical role in the Army. When you make an appointment that spot has been reserved for you. That means if you have been given the last slot someone else is going to have to wait for another one to open up. This could be one day or one month. And because you missed it someone else is still going to have to wait when they could have had that spot and been there. If you are going to miss the appointment or cannot make it due to mission they do allow us to cancel the appointment with in twenty four hours. The Army allows us to make appointments for whatever we need. Be it for a medical appointment, house goods, CIF, Smoking Sensation or whatever we need these recourses are available to us. But when Soldiers start missing appointments theses systems start to become inefficient. What a lot of Soldiers do...

Motel Pool Reflection

...Jemeela Thomas Mr. John MacDonald ENG 4U 9 July 2014 Reflection on Motel Pool By P.K. Page This poem transformed an everyday situation such as a simple motel pool into a unique event which makes you think about different situations. Its starts off by saying “the plump good-natured children play in the blue pool” this line makes you think that the author is describing what little children experience in the summer seasons, the children are having their first encounter from the previous winter season where the fat on their bodies protected them from the freezing environment. The image of plump children are usually looked at as very young, not yet the age of puberty so they still have baby fat. The symbol that these plump children represent is innocence and purity. The poem continues into describing how there children are playing in the wet dirt on the exterior of the pool. The dirt is getting wet by the blue pool waters so the children are now slipping and sliding in the dirt which gives the appearance of oiled skin. “slide and tumble, oiled, in the slippery sun.” When water is touched it moves into wave patterns which is the image. the symbol of “churning the water; or-seamstresses-cut and sew with jack-knives its satins invisibly” is described by the movements a child's curious hand makes as its swirled around through the water. The last section in the poem states “and it greens the grass, greens the hanging leaf, greens Adam and Eden, greens little eve” i feel like the...

...Morgan Carey Mrs. Stewart 10 February 2012 DC English 4. 6 Train Hard. Eat Fresh. When flipping through the pages of ESPN magazine expect to see advertisements on goods that provide the right nutrients for athletes in training and competing. In this particular ad Subway is promoting that a steak, egg, and cheese sandwich for breakfast is the perfect way to receive energy for the day ahead. This is also displaying that subway is “the official training restaurant of the collegiate rugby championship”. The basic theme of the Subway ad is that the men who are in training for a rugby tournament are filling their stomachs with a healthy breakfast sandwich. The sandwich and the athletes represent the fact that a good breakfast will promote a effective workout that you will be pleased with. ESPN continues to show the same types of ads, perfect and fit athletes who eat healthy and drink sport drinks such as Gatorade, or active women who want the tampons made specifically for athletic body movements, so they can continue to do their day to day activities. These professional athletes model their product by focusing in on the product and what is it doing for them, whether it be hydration, filling their stomachs, or getting them through that one week of mood swings and bloating. This advertisement is slightly different; the athletes are not the only main focus in the advertisement. The breakfast sandwich in the bottom left corner along with “dive into a scrumptious breakfast”...
