Hear that Tune
When I turned on the radio, the song “Springsteen” pumped though the speakers of my car. Since I was already having a bad day, hearing this song just made me smile. It’s weird how just one song can make such an impact on a person that can turn your day around. Listening to music can simply brighten your day.
Music was made for people to dance in all genres and all ways. Music is used to dance in line dances at country places. Here, in order for people to dance and know the moves, they have to listen to the beat of the music in order to do certain moves. Weddings are another great example of how music is used to dance. Weddings mostly always involve a dj or a live band in which the bride and groom take their first dance together and so on to various music they have selected. Dance competitions are a huge example of why music is important for dance. Music is needed here to compete against other people through dance moves that correlate to the music. Dancing can be done without music but in order to have a steady beat and keep the moves correct as a person would have rehearsed, it would be best to dance to music. Dancing can help celebrate exactly what the music means to you.
Songs can mean everything to a person when the lyrics relate to you. All songs have different lyrics so they all can have different meanings. When a person can relate directly to the lyrics, it gives that person a sense of comfort. The lyrics make people realize that you aren’t alone in the world and that there are other people thinking or going through the same issues you are. Any genre of music has lyrics. Sometimes, the lyrics can be the same but can be played in a different genre of music. A person may relate to the lyrics of a song but not like the type of music that it was created in. The same can be done with liking the music but have no personal connection to the lyrics. Lyrics can mean everything in music depending on who a person asks.
Music can bring people together that normally wouldn’t interact. A person can for instance love country music and be a republican. A different person may love the same music but be a democrat. These people could talk all about their music because that is what brought them together. If they were to talk about politics though, things would get heated very fast. What people don’t know is, sometimes the looks of a person can be totally opposite with what they are actually like. Without the conversation of music, these two people couldn’t have something in common to talk about. Music can make you converse with people who you never knew could be just like you.
Music can help in many ways and forms but it can always brighten your day if you listen to the right songs. Through dancing, lyrics, and interacting with people, music can give people the stress relief they have been looking for. Music can be the one thing that makes your day great. Even though music can mean several different things to various people, the overall aspect always improves your life.

Cartoons Impacts

...• Stevie talks about how cartoons have become violent and addictive to children and also how they have hidden adult subliminal messages to allow for parents to enjoy the cartoons along with their children. • Three major effects that have been proven by psychological research caused by children seeing violence on television are: the child may become less sensitive to the pain and suffering of others, children who watch violence do not fear violence nor are they bothered by violence in general, and the children are more likely to become aggressive or use harmful actions towards others. • "The April 2004 issue of the medical journal Pediatrics published a study done by Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center of Seattle, Washington. The study revealed that children who watched three to four hours of television daily had a 30 to 40 percent greater risk of developing attention deficit disorder than children who did not watch television." • cartoons set a false reality for children by cartoon characters being invincible. It talks about instances such as the how Wile E. Coyote in episodes of 'Loony Toons' can fall off a cliff and walk away without even a scratch. Incidents like this make children think that they too can do these things without being hurt, when in reality they can not. Having this false sense of reality increases the risk of child safety. “For every hour of TV viewed per day, the risk of injury rose by about 34% in the children studied.” • Wilcox talks about...

Music in Colonial America

...How colonial music relates to our day music while helping us form a united country and patriotism. It has been found that music of the Colonial age wasn’t written in America; but, inclusively transported to help define the colleagues and for founders of this country. The music that early Americans have chosen to sing and play helps to clarify the understanding of the colonist themselves. 1 “Their music included ballads, dance tunes, folk songs and parodies, comic opera arias, drum signals, psalms, minuets and sonatas. Such music came mostly from England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Italy, France, and Africa, and it was played on whatever instruments were handy.” Many different styles and forms of music emerged in early America to express the full effect of colonial life. Colonial music included both oral and written processes; in which, people most commonly could recognize by ear but frequently came up with new words to the older tunes. The instruments we have today were brought to us by the Revolution age with some in their original form and prevalent. Men from all different classes, from slaves and indentured servants to Thomas Jefferson, played fiddles or violins. While prices varied from high to low violins were usually imported in great numbers. In addition to popular instruments such as the violin, the flute happens to be another prominent instrument that was driven by man. 1 Woman had limited musical options due to high levels of “maintaining reputation” for men. Fine Arts Describing an Artwork

...Patric Rooney Intro to Fine Arts Gary Towne The fine arts are comprised of multiple forms of arts, two of them being visual art and music. I decided to analyze one piece of visual art and one piece of music, based on several different elements of the respective categories. I chose to begin with the visual art piece, The Arnolfini Wedding, because of its many small and intricate details hidden in the artwork. Jan van Eyck (Flemish, before 1390-1441), The Arnolfini Wedding, 1434, oil on oak panel of 3 vertical boards, 82.2 cm × 60 cm, National Gallery of Art, London, is an intricate piece of art with many minuscule details that contain an abundance of symbolism and meaning. One of the first things to catch your eye will be the man and woman standing in the forefront of the image. At first, one may believe that the woman in the velvet green robe is pregnant, but it has been found that this was actually excess fabric from her robe creating the bump on her stomach. Both the man and woman have their hands in positions that imply that they are taking some type of oath, more specifically an oath of marriage. The clothing worn by the wedding couple is common clothing of their time, for people of the upper class. If you were to zoom in on the picture, you begin to realize the realistic qualities of all of the textures in the painting. One use of this skill that jumps out at me is the lifelike beads that sit beside the circular mirror. If you look closely at the gear...
