AMERICAN INTERCONTINENTAL UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT
The author will discuss Ethics as it pertains to Business in today’s world. The author will explain can Business have moral ethics while defining different types of ethics. The author will support its argument with supporting definitions of types of ethics pertaining to her argument. In today’s Business world the importance of standards and ethics is very important. However in most corporation or organizations the ethics is not what is important. The right thing to do would be treat your employees with in the standard of moral ethics. I personally believe you should treat your employees with respect just as you would customers. Although this does not occasionally take place more employers need to learn to treat their employees with the same regards as your customer. This may boost employee work ethics as well as profit. The point of the matter is ethics can exist in the Economic world, however organizations and corporations need to adhere to ethics or just plain courtesy would be nice. In this day and age many Businesses have many different policy and procedures in place to complete or perform a certain job or duty. However, Business does not conduct itself as moral agents. The majority of Corporation uses Utilitarianism. This is the belief that regardless of the struggle or pain the outcome of a profit is more important. Corporations encourages Categorical imperatives. Categorical imperatives is the practices of if one person does what it takes then the other individuals should have the same mentality.
Corporations tend to forget that people or employees are the same as CEO, COO, CFO, or as I call them the head of the business. Each individual have the right to Moral objectivism. Each individual has the right to Ethical Relativism. This is the right that

Economics in My Life

...extremely dated at how I would even begin to finish it. I had no idea how economics related to my life in anyway. I hadn’t thought about it critically and I struggling terribly… I never realized that from the things I buy to the money I earn from working is all economics. The things I miss out of while working or going to school is a complete opportunity cost. Or even that the way I purchased goods was complete and total economics. After basically discovering a whole new life, I came to a conclusion that without economics the life that we live would not be possible. Everyone, whether they’re as oblivious as I was or they are aware of it, "Like the potato, economics can be served in many ways, deal with piece ceilings, opportunity costs, taxes of course, goods and services etc. There’s absolutely no way of avoiding it. It’s no secret that our economy isn’t doing the greatest. Majority of people have seen some inflation here and there and they have their ways of dealing with it. It’s no fun to have to deal with it when you’re actually starting to make some good money and on top of it, start your college life. When prices of textbooks at the SVSU bookstore began to rise I had no choice but to look for another source for books. I simply could not afford it, and at the same time there was plenty of other necessities I could be spending that money on. Websites such as Ebay and Cheapbooks were the perfect source to buying my books and they were a huge difference in price as to ECC. When certain...

Economics and My Daily Life

...Economics and My Daily life Stevens-Henager College Abstract Economics is a daily part of our lives I will be discussing how certain areas of economics affects my life these will include principles 2, 4 and 5of economics. I will discuss how supply and demand and consumer surplus are used in most areas of my life. My Economics class has given me a better understanding of how important economics is to our daily lives. How Economics is used in my daily life There are 10 principles of economics and all of them are used in our lives but for the purpose of this paper I will be discussing how three are used in mine. Principle 2- Opportunity cost “Because people face trade-offs, making decisions requires comparing the costs and benefits of alternative courses of action.” (Cleverley, Song, & Cleverley, 2011) This principle refers to what you have to give up in order getting what you want. For example, you can choose to study for an exam or be with family and friends. If you choose to study, your opportunity cost is quality time with family and friends. Opportunity costs do not always have a monetary value associated with them, rather, the cost is: anything of value to the person assessing the situation including energy and time. I have chosen to spend three years of my live to go to college for my Bachelors degree. This is costing me time...

My Recipe for the Economic Growth of Pakistan.

...My recipe for the Economic Growth of Pakistan. 1947, the year when one rupee was equal to one US dollar. But now it is 100 rupees against a US dollar. What US government did to maintain their dollars value which ours could not do, is a question every Pakistani wants to ask. Similarly, if we consider countries like Malaysia which got its free existence after Pakistan’s, they have grown economically more than us. In 2012, Pakistan’s GDP was 231 billion US dollars whereas Malaysian GDP was over 303 billion US dollars. Though Pakistan has God gifted resources like natural reservoirs of minerals, gas, coal, and human capital. Pakistanis are not less talented than people of any other country. Poverty is increasing as days pass, debts are increasing just because we cannot repay the debts and the interests on these debts. Inflation is increasing. Our GDP is also increasing but not as much as these mentioned factors. Hence the common men are suffering. Before I start with the recommendations, I just want to give you a glimpse of Pakistan’s economy since now. In the early four decades, Pakistan grew by a good rate of 6 percent, though the population grew rapidly per capita income got doubled and poverty level declined from 46% to 18%. Till 1980s, this growth was maintained throughout wars, and the changing government regimes. In 1990s; the economic growth rate declined to 4%, poverty rose to 33%, inflation and the debts increased too. Then in 1999, military formed its government Pakistan...

Lead with Respect

...Lead with respect, not with power. Throughout my Global Lead experience, I learned a lot about what a global citizen is and how to become a better one. I also learned a lot about myself and who I am as a person and leader and also how I lead my life. I believe a global citizen is one who is aware of what is happening around the world; one who genuinely cares and is curious, and one who has the desire to help in any way possible. When I first arrived in Greece and we talked about being a mindful traveler, I realized that I had never even thought about that. I realized that even when people visit America, I am not mindful of their culture. My Global Lead experience really made me realize that I never really took the time to learn other cultures and what was happening outside the United States. The only things I really ever knew about other countries were the things that affected America. I wasn’t even aware that I was not being a global citizen. Being a global citizen means to be aware of things going on outside your country and to try and help in any way possible, even if it is something simple like supporting another countries product. The Greece culture is so beautiful and full of history. The people are so nice and courteous to visitors, especially us when we visited. Almost everyone there knew English, which really surprised me because I am not fluent in any other languages. The fact that pretty much everyone spoke our language showed me a good example of global citizenship...

What Would You Change in Your Country?

...unlimited. People always want more. There is hardly a person in the world who is completely satisfied with economic, cultural or political situation in her country. Sometimes these dreams have a solid background and reasons, because it is impossible to build a perfect society on the territory of a chosen country. Everyone dislikes something about his native country and wants to change these disadvantages. As I speak about myself, I would rather say that I have a few ideas about this issue. I would change several things that exist in every country. When we speak about education in the USA, the UK, India or Russia, we would say that education is not a strong side of any country. People have not managed to create the ideal system of education that would help children develop their potential. In spite of the fact that such countries as the USA, the UK, Australia, Germany or France have solid material basis for education, the quality of education is still low. Very often students from the developing countries are able to compete with the US student who has graduated from the most expensive college or university. However, the material and financial background of his country is poor. Consequently, the problem is not money but the right approach towards children and education in general. I would like to make education affordable for everyone, because the level of literacy is still low in my country. Of course there are good schools and colleges but very few families are able to afford them...

Do a case study of its success (or failure) and how it has changed the landscape of product innovations. For example, Thomas and friends has clothes, stationery, household products, jewellery etc. *** She is a successful independent woman, who lives in a world of pink, where she owns a dream house in Malibu. Every day, she wears high-heels to work, and even runs a fashion chain under her name. For many, she was the influential icon of American culture in the late 20th century. Until now, I dare say that her image is still very potent worldwide. Who is she? Never before has she ever starred in a Hollywood movie or performed at a famous fashion show. Surprisingly, she never exists in real life and she is literally a toy. Yes, it can hardly be any other toy but Barbie. Nowadays, girls can be seen wearing Barbie clothing, using Barbie perfume, carrying Barbie backpacks, and sleeping in Barbie pajamas, not to mention cosmetics, sneakers etc. (Morgenson 1991, 66). Mattel, Inc., the mother company of Barbie, should feel proud of her. Because on average, an American girl has ten Barbie dolls, a British or Italian girl may own seven, while five is the number of Barbie that a German or French girl has. It was Mattel’s purpose and will...

Business

...Kimberly Tucker, Chris Salt, Ashley Solomon Case 7: Mattel: Overcoming Marketing and Manufacturing Challenges 11/01/2010 Marketing Management 6800 Section 004 The Problem: The problem surrounding Mattel Inc., one of the world’s largest toy companies, is their mismanagement of international subcontractors and vendors and the production of certain toys (the manufacturing process), as well as their inability to adapt their marketing strategy or product to the constantly changing “demographic and socioeconomic trends” (Ferrell, et. all 466). This is supported by Mattel’s legal battle with Carter Bryant and MGA, their forced recall of certain toys that were manufactured overseas, and the increasing rate at which traditional toys are becoming less appealing to today’s young audience. Essentially, Mattel’s mismanagement and oversight lead to violations in terms of ethical and social responsibilities and safety standards. Issues Relevant to the Problem: Mattel’s problem of mismanagement can be divided into several issues that need to be considered: legal issues, international supply chain issues, and an increase in technology-based toys. In regards to legal issues, Mattel has been involved in prolonged litigation with Carter Bryant and MGA over a breach of an employment contract and copyright infringement. Due to Mattel’s poor management of its overseas manufacturers, in which unauthorized subcontractors and third-party suppliers were hired and unsafe materials used, several...

That is why every person has a story to tell, and it is why we can learn from every single person. And this essay is about my short autobiography, which can give you an indication of my personal story. I came into this world on the windy morning of October 15, 1990. I was born in Cua Viet, a small town in Vietnam. I am the 5th child among the 5 children of my parent. I grew up and spent almost my whole life in my country. Now, I am the second year student in Business Accounting- the 2 year program. I have been through many life-changing situations in past 3 years. These situations have had both positive and negative impacts to me. My goals from 5 years ago compare to my current goals are totally different. After finishing 12th grade, I just wanted to become a Mathematics teacher, so I went to Hue University and tried my best to achieve the goal. However, when I was the 2nd year student of the Hue University, I found that I was no longer interested in becoming a teacher. Hence, I dropped the school and wanted to get a better education in Canada and seek opportunities in accounting. Since then, my life has changed. On one hand, starting my new life in a strange country is so hard. When I just came, I faced many difficulties, such as the language, the weather and the life style. Firstly, language was a big matter when I first came. Speaking was one of the linguistic problems...

Descriptive Hate for Work

...Freddy Rodriguez Prof. Chamberlain English 063 16 Oct, 2012 My Hate for Work We all deal with some sort of issue that makes our work experience negative. In my case its cooking at a restaurant where all you hear is kids screaming uncontrollably from the control point window in the grill, the fog coming from both the fryer and grill, and last, but not least the “pushing and shoving” from the grill team when we’re pulling off a thousand dollar hour. If you haven’t guessed yet, its Friendly’s “Where ice cream makes the meal”... and my hate for people. I’m just kidding, but I don’t like rude people; like if I’m nice to you why can’t you return the nice gesture? Anyways (back on track) its crazy how many sounds you hear, things you see and objects you feel within a five hour shift that actually feels like two because of working through a rush period. Children children children, I hate them. Hate is a strong word? Trust me I KNOW! I cannot fathom the loud screaming that sounds like metal to metal screeching; all because mommy won’t them get ice cream. The sad part is that I work in the grill and its sort of tucked away in the back. Imagining the intensity of the screaming? Quite horrible isn’t it? As if the loud grinding gears of their voices isn’t enough, I have the pleasure of watching them run around like its free game day at chuck e cheese or something. The only part I enjoy of them running around like maniacs is seeing the huge bright shiny smile on their faces, it makes...

Most Influential Person

...Narrowing down to on person who had had an impact on my life is a difficult task, and one that requires a lot of thought. There have been many, but as I travel back through my memories, one person stands out above the rest, my mother. Whether in the classroom or at home, that one individual continuously shines. She knows how to help me when a problem arises, she is there to pick me up when I fall, and she is there as my biggest supporter when all is going well. She always seems to know when to push me or when to just step back and allow me to learn life lessons. One example of her driving me to do my best is a time that I had an extremely tough exam in Chemistry. This was a must pass test and to make it worse, it was over a chapter where I struggled. I came close to giving up and failing the test, but somehow my mom knew I was fighting this battle. She came to me and explained how giving up would interfere with my dream of going to college. It might not keep me out of college, but it would set my standards lower than they needed to be. My mom did not force me to study, but instead, she allowed me to make a decision that would effect me right then and possibly in the future. My mom has made a huge impact in my life in such a positive way. She has pushed me to where I am now. Through her example and our many talks, I have learned that hard work and perserverance can and will take you a long way in this world. I did pass that...

...instructed otherwise.) Not only is a topic sentence the first sentence of a paragraph, but, more importantly, it is the most general sentence in a paragraph. What does "most general" mean? It means that there are not many details in the sentence, but that the sentence introduces an overall idea that you want to discuss later in the paragraph. For example, suppose that you want to write a paragraph about the natural landmarks of your hometown. The first part of your paragraph might look like this: My hometown is famous for several amazing natural features. First, it is noted for the Wheaton River, which is very wide and beautiful. Also, on the other side of the town is Wheaton Hill, which is unusual because it is very steep. (Notice how the first sentence begins with "My hometown..." a few spaces to the right of the paragraph edge. This is an indentation. All paragraphs in English MUST begin with an indentation.) Note how the first sentence, My hometown, Wheaton, is famous for several amazing geographical features,is the most general statement. This sentence is...

...sleeping the whole day and I got so many thoughts playing on my mind so I choose to rise get the laptop and type. 1. Second to my final destination ( … Well this is not a horror film; this destination I’m talking about is the force or factor that makes me go and face every life’s circumstances I am facing. My ultimate dream is to become a flight attendant, cabin crew, flight crew or whatever they call this. Yes, I’ve been dreaming to become one someday and I am trying to give my very best for this not to become an unclear vision. I want this to manifest, I want this to happen in my life in every good ways or means I can. As I’ve said on my recent posts, I love to go somewhere, I love to experience different culture, and I want to meet new and different people. There are some times in my life when I face mirror, stand classically and gracefully and try to imitate flight attendants posture and speaking. I used to act like there are passengers and I am orienting them with safety procedures inside the plane. To train to become a flight attendant costs so much, that’s why my parents wasn’t able to send me to those schools practicing this course. But I’ve got this what they called life’s principle. I believe with all my heart that nothing is definitely impossible that my future has been planned and decided. I just love the thought that God is faithful, with His words, His promises and plans. I trust Him with this. This is my heart’s very secret petition to heaven and to Jesus. His...

Julia's Tribute

...For those of you that don't know me my name is Brittany. I work at The Willows at Citation where I took care of Julia. For the short 3 months and 11 days that I knew Julia. I've learned something that no book could possibly ever teach me. On our Journey together I was constantly being moved and touched in ways that I often cannot describe. To live with Alzheimer's and still laugh, love and find joy is nothing short of amazing. I never got that chance to meet Julia when she was full of life and energy. Instead God blessed me with Julia on May 6th of this year. God had also blessed me with the ability to really connect with Julia. I spent many nights by her bedside, I've spent many hours listening, I've shared many tears with her daughter's and I've experienced many lifelong connections. Julia taught me the importance of living in the moment and finding joy in the small things. No two minutes were alike. Things were constantly changing and it put us on the wildest roller coaster ride imaginable. I must say it took a while and I'm sure I'm speaking for a few others when I say this but I came to realize that in order to survive, you must live in the moment and appreciate each and every good thing that happens, no matter how small. Sometimes you really have to dig deep to find the good in a lousy situation. The interesting thing is that bar is constantly moving. That thing that may have seemed completely insignificant a few months ago, can suddenly become the joy that gets...
