Foot Massage

...amazement. A smoothing Chinese foot massage is one of the alternative methods which can be treated as a physical treatment to make people feel relaxation and decrease their body pain. Traditional Chinese foot massage consists of a foot bath followed by an intense massage on different pressure points in the feet, ankles and legs. Chinese foot massage has been practiced for centuries and it is popular in China. Both ancient Chinese books and modern medical texts mention the effect of foot massage which has been extensively used in treatment for medical symptoms, for example, arthritis, back, neck, and shoulder pain. It is also recommended by physiotherapists in China. Even the feeling of a traditional Chinese foot massage may differ, it basically begins with soaking the feet in hot water adding tea and herbs. During the feet soaking, the therapist massages a person’s shoulders, back and neck for 10 to 15 minutes. After that, the feet are removed from the water and the person is transferred to a comfortable chair where the therapist is ready to work. The therapist uses cream or lotion on the foot and then rubs, pushes and massages pressure points on the bottom, top, and sides of the foot. The foot massage is often painful, particularly for first timers because it is believed that each part of the foot is connected to a part of the body. If pain is felt in a particular part of the foot, it is believed the corresponding part of the body has a problem. So far, foot massage is welcomed by both...

Foot Care

...Foot Care for the patient with Neuropathy The foot is often the place problems start for people with neuropathy. People with neuropathy who get corns, calluses and bunions have an increased risk for getting foot ulcers (very serious, deep sores). Infection in these ulcers can lead to hospitalization and even the amputation of a foot. How should I care for my feet to avoid foot problems?  Look at your feet daily. Call us at the very first sign of redness, swelling, infection, prolonged pain, numbness or tingling in any part of a foot.  Wash your feet every day in lukewarm water (check the water temperature with your hand or elbow first) and mild soap; use only a washcloth or a very soft brush.  Dry your feet well, especially between the toes. Use a soft towel and blot gently; don’t rub.  Keep the skin of your feet smooth by applying a moisturizing cream or lanolin lotion, especially on the heels.  If your feet sweat easily, keep them dry by dusting them with non-medicated powder before putting on shoes and stockings.  Wear well-padded socks or stockings that are not wrinkled and that are ½ an inch longer than your longest toe. Don’t wear stretch socks, nylon socks or socks with an elastic band or garter at the top. Don’t wear socks with inside seams.  When you buy new shoes, choose shoes made of soft leather. Ballet Dance

...any contemporary ballet shoe we might recognize today. The official terminology and vocabulary of ballet was gradually codified in French over the next 100 years. In the video I preformed the basic steps of ballet. First start off with good posture to avoid a strain, stand straight and have your shoulders over your hips. In the 1st position my heels touch with my toes turned out and place my arms in front of me in an oval shape. The 2nd position I move my feet apart and open my arms wide, they should be slightly rounded and in front of me. Now the 3rd position I cross one foot in front of the other, and brought one arm curved in towards me and the other arm to the side. Then the 4th position I placed one foot in front of the other with space between, raised one arm curved above my head and the other out to the side. Finally I finish off with the 5th position by placing one foot exactly in front of the other but this time closed up together, raised both arms up in a beautiful ballerina oval. These are a few examples of the basic Ballet steps. During the process it was a bit difficult to keep my posture straight and keeping my heels with my toes turned out, but other than that it was a great experience preforming these...

Anatomy I

...as active of a dancer that I am, I already put a tremendous amount of wear and tare on my body, especially since I’ve been studying for eighteen years. The chances of me being perfectly in balance are slim to none. No matter how much physical therapy I do on my body, if I continue to dance with extreme physical motion I will always have something that is not in place. After doing these assessments I discovered a few things I didn’t realize about my body, but after analyzing them I see how they possibly may trigger some of my areas of discomfort. These imbalances affect my everyday activities, physical comfort, range of motion, and general sense of well-being. I have the privilege of having a physical trainer to assist me at work before every performance. She’s there to make sure my imbalances are cared for and I’ve been given exercises to strengthen my weak areas. The main areas I’ve decided that need major work consist on my shoulders, spine, core, and ankle/foot. I’ve selected a series of exercises that I believe will help improve my weaknesses. My overall posture is very good and that helps my head alignment as my chin is in place, balanced directly above my shoulders. Moving towards my shoulders it’s not completely obvious, but my right shoulder is slightly higher than my left. Resulting to my arm alignment, the left is longer than the right. Because my right shoulder is higher than my left, that affects the length of the arms. These imbalances could possibly be from...

Guitar Foot Rest

...My guitar foot rest is a multipurpose foot rest which is one of a kind. I believe Treble Cleft Musical Instrument Co will not hesitate to choose it. Here are some of the reasons why my foot rest is perfect for the music department. Situation: The foot rest has a heel of 75mm and an adjustable toe of 140mm and 170mm. it slopes upwards heel to toe. The foot rest can be folded to a box but is still easy to store. It is stable and can survive in a high school environment. If there are ever any problems with it then repairing and rebuilding is not a problem because of the simplicity of this product. Problems and possibilities: Test and evaluate: I am very happy with the final product and how it turned out because I expected my product not to work out and meet any requirements. The product took me lots of time because I kept changing my ideas. This is one of the reasons I had a late start as I did not have a specific idea. The two biggest problems I dealt with during the creation of this foot rest are: I couldn’t find the right idea for myself until I went into building the structure with an idea that changed in the designing process. As I was checking the height of the structure with a piece of the foam bored, I realized if this piece of foam is built inside the foot rest it would able to hold up the top and meet the required height. This encouraged me to erase all of the old ideas and built the structure with the new idea. Another problem that was encountered was that I did...

The Bayeaux Tapestry

...So there I was behind the archers, knights on horseback (of course with their squires), and our “righteous” King and his cohorts. Scared does not begin to describe my feelings toward this battle that I did not volunteer for. I am just a mere foot soldier, an arrow cushion for the royals. We arrived a week ago today and it seems today will be the day of days. The Kings from our side and theirs are meeting in the middle of what will soon become the battlefield, or should I just call it what it will become, the resting place of most of us. I hope they work this out peacefully with some concessions. I am getting ahead of myself. When we first arrived we came ashore on boat and well let me just say there was nothing here, unless you count the forest. Well most of that went to constructing the Kings quarters. We found ourselves fighting over firewood to keep warm at night, although keeping warm almost came in second to just rest after our days. We work nonstop from dawn to dusk. It is just us “less” noble by birth that do all the manual labor, while the noble keep watch over us while they drink wine and we build battlements and quarters for the luckier. I find myself praying every night for this to be over, one way or the other, and at this point I am leaning toward the other, which would mean that I will never see any of you again. How I miss home. I know we work for a noble but at least we have a roof over our head and some grog and mead for our bellies. And it...

Weight Training

...Mr. Otte Weight Training Date: May 8, 2010 The first workout that I will be showing you is an upper body workout, not to intense, but it gets the job done. Workout number one is going to deal with the upper body exercises and there’s a lot but I’m just going to give you a few that would be the best ones to do. * Upper Body workout: Day 1, Polymeric Press up: Begin in the standard press-up position on the floor. Your upper body should be supported with your hands on the floor - shoulder- width apart. Your arms are fully extended, and your legs and feet are supported by your toes, which are hip-width apart. To begin the exercise, lower your chest toward the floor by bending your elbows while keeping your trunk and hips extended and "rigid." When your chest is one to two inches from the floor, rapidly straighten your arms and push your body upward as fast as possible. As your arms reach full extension, release your hand contact with the floor and clap your hands together very quickly, before returning your hands to the floor in the same position that they were in before the clap. Repeat this action (lowering, rapid extension, clap and land on your hands) for the prescribed number of repetitions. The polymeric push-up helps to develop upper-body power as well as stabilizing strength in the core muscles. These muscles work together to stabilize the upper body during running, improving running economy. Day 2, Prone Trunk Extensions: Begin by lying face down on the floor...

Personal Narrative: My Junior Year Of High School

With the intention of playing soccer my senior year, I worked assiduously to regain my strength and flexibility. My physical therapists recommended a stretching technique requiring me to kneel on the floor and push my heel to the ground. This did not work because of the severity of my tightened tendon. Pondering a solution to my problem, I designed a brace for my leg using drafting techniques I acquired from engineering classes I took during my junior...

Nt1310 Unit 7 Lab 1

...Unit 7 Lab 1 New Building Safety Plan In my safety plan the first things that I’m going to cover are the PPE for working on a construction site where a new building is being placed. First you’re going to need a hard hat so that when anything falls from above, it keeps your brains where they belong like in your head. Second steel toed shoes or boots, preferably boot for a little extra ankle support. But the steel toes to protect your feet from anything being dropped or lowered in case your foot gets in the way. Safety goggles, pretty self-explanatory on this one, just need to keep things out of your eyes! Long pants (blue jeans) protect your legs from different object that could hurt your skin but with pants on you might just get a bruise. Next on the list gloves are always a good idea to wear so that you don’t rip your hands up while you’re working! A water cooler is a must in this situation because it’s going to be hot out and hydration is key to survival! There will also be no running on the job site. Hurry to quickly can cause more accidents than any amount of production you’re getting for running that thirty foot. Only work on the parts of the job that you know, if someone ask for help go ahead and give them a hand but if you’re a plumber then just let the electrician handle his own job. Back to PPE for a sec a back brace would be a good idea to wear also. Once you have a back injury it will be a problem for the rest of your life in most cases. In case of an emergency...

Short Fable

...time he was rather lonely in my forest. He had already changed his arcane markers to indicate that he would be amenable to a neighbor, but no one came. He considering going on a Mating Quest to find love. He would probably have to travel too far for his liking though. It was unlikely that he would do so, since while he was gone another may move into his territory. He was a strong enough shaman to deter such things but a stronger magic user or being could override those protections. While he was thinking about this he was paying little attention to his border wards. So when he heard a loud mechanical roaring coming from another part of the forest, he was surprised. He settled into a steady lope towards the noise, worried that an aggressive magical being could be using his neighbor invitation to invade. When got there he saw there was a great machine churning the ground and ripping up trees. Over the next few days he began the process of deterring the foul and foolish humans. After a month of rotted food, damaged equipment and other things they left. He lived peacefully for five years after. when he sensed another Bavarian or as the humans laughably called them Bigfoots. though I guess adding in the evolution difference we do have much bigger feet.
