Piedmont Health Group

Dear Dr. Bryant,

I would like to begin by apologizing for anything Genesis Telecommunications as a company or any individual employee of this company may have ever done to let the Piedmont Health Group (PHG) down. If we had known anything was seriously wrong with our services we would have addressed it immediately, but no one has ever called us over the past two years with any complaints other than the usual telephone inadequacies you would expect from any provider. No, we are not perfect, but we have come a long way because of the help and understanding of organizations such as yours. I suppose I am puzzled by your sudden move back to Embarq, and leaving us when we have recently finished upgrading are products. Our revenue has doubled and so has our customer base. I hope you will please hear me as I try to explain to you what I think was the problem and you can then read between the lines, if you will, and see the truth for what it really is.

In the beginning of our relationship, Genesis put an entire string of Cisco IAD-2431 routers ($2500 each, our cost) with an oversized processor capable of not only handling your voice and data needs but also specifically designed to make your VPN, the connections between the offices, more than twice as fast, and increase the reliability to 99.9%. I really never could understand why we could not move your VPN over from the current equipment that you have until recently. What I do know is right before we came in the picture as a telephone and data service provider you had spent a fair sum of money for a solution, which was at best mediocre. This has nothing to do with poor judgment, wrong decision, or anything of that nature. You trusted someone, who I believe did the best they could do with the

He did not simply speak it into being as He did the beast of the field and the fowls of the air. He carefully put it together step by step. God put man to sleep and from his side took a rib and formed the woman. Not stopping there, God took the woman by the hand and led her to Adam. Therefore marriage is a unique relationship, having its root in divinity (Gen. 2:22). However, marriage and family life, a thing of joy, pleasure, and high esteem at creation is now treated by many as a necessary evil and looked at by some disdainfully. "Those in it want to rush out and those outside want to rush in," they say. This has resulted in the fast disintegration of the marriage unit and subsequently the family. Statistics indicate that the decline of marriage and the family...

Economic Growth Models

...THE FUTURE OF ECONOMIC CONVERGENCE* Dani Rodrik Harvard University August 2011 * This is a paper prepared for the 2011 Jackson Hole Symposium of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, August 25-27, 2011. I am grateful to Arvind Subramanian for helpful conversations and to UNIDO for making their INDSTAT4 data base available. I also thank Cynthia Balloch for research assistance and the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard for financial assistance. I. Introduction Novelists have a better track record than economists at foretelling the future. Consider then Gary Shteyngart‘s timely comic novel ―Super Sad True Love Story‖ (Random House, 2010), which provides a rather graphic vision of what lies in store for the world economy. The novel takes place in the near future and is set against the backdrop of a United States that lies in economic and political ruin. The country‘s bankrupt economy is ruled with a firm hand by the IMF from its new Parthenon-shaped headquarters in Singapore. China and sovereign wealth funds have parceled America‘s most desirable real estate among themselves. Poor people are designated as LNWI (―low net worth individuals‖) and are being pushed into ghettoes. Even skilled Americans are desperate to acquire residency status in foreign lands. (A degree in econometrics helps a lot, as it turns out). Ivy League colleges have adopted the names of their Asian partners and yuan-backed dollars are the only safe currency. This is sheer fantasy...
