...person is focusing on something different, thinking of something different, and noticing something different. That is why every person has a story to tell, and it is why we can learn from every single person. And this essay is about my short autobiography, which can give you an indication of my personal story. I came into this world on the windy morning of October 15, 1990. I was born in Cua Viet, a small town in Vietnam. I am the 5th child among the 5 children of my parent. I grew up and spent almost my whole life in my country. Now, I am the second year student in Business Accounting- the 2 year program. I have been through many life-changing situations in past 3 years. These situations have had both positive and negative impacts to me. My goals from 5 years ago compare to my current goals are totally different. After finishing 12th grade, I just wanted to become a Mathematics teacher, so I went to Hue University and tried my best to achieve the goal. However, when I was the 2nd year student of the Hue University, I found that I was no longer interested in becoming a teacher. Hence, I dropped the school and wanted to get a better education in Canada and seek opportunities in accounting. Since then, my life has changed. On one hand, starting my new life in a strange country is so hard. When I just came, I faced many difficulties, such as the language, the weather and the life style. Firstly, language was a big matter when I first came. Speaking was one of the linguistic problems...

My Personality Theory

...Stevie Homestead Professor Walter Andrews Psychotherapy 08 September 2014 My Theory of Personality I would approach personality from a behavioural point of view. Behaviour is influenced to a great deal by the environment that a person grows in. Many a times we are a product of what we interact with and it is this what shapes our character to attain that complete being with a particular trait that people are able to identify. The behaviours that one may pick in his/her process of growth may be influenced by various factors including such as culture, and family values among many others. The world provides a platform for people to exercise self-realization. We are all born into this world without any prior knowledge of how our encounter with the world will turn out to be. A person continues to gain age-wise, and the unconscious uniqueness hidden inside starts to sprout (Vernon par2). One comes to the realization that there is a need to be unique and pursue self interests. Each of us has goals to achieve and aspirations to live for and this forms the basis for one’s desire to pursue his/her uniqueness. Sometimes it comes out of necessity when one realizes that working as a group shields the ability to be outstanding. As people grow up, different factors come into play. We are exposed to different cultures, different neighbourhoods, different peers as well as different people to look up to (Vernon par7). This kind of set up where we grow up contributes a lot in the making of...

My Personality Assessment

...results. I've done personality tests before, and I'm a very self reflective person- for the most part, the answers are what I thought they would be. For example, on the first survey, my highest relative score was for emotional mentoring; this entails helping others with their emotions and showing empathy. I've always considered myself an empathetic person, and I'm always trying to help others. Another example, is the second survey. The results state that "(I am) a high achiever... workaholic... do whatever it takes to complete assignments or projects on time and as close to perfection as possible". I've always been a very driven and ambitious person, aiming to be highly successful in everything that I do. 2. My Emotional Intelligence/Personality Assessment test all provide similar interpretations of myself. The theme is that I'm a logical and ambitious person, and that I can understand the emotions of others relatively well. However, I still need some work managing my own emotions. I believe that the last survey is the most valid, simply because it was the most in-depth. There are 146 questions on that survey, and is questions many aspects of self, such how you handle stress, how you read other's emotions, and how you would...

Personalities of the Duke in “My Last Duchess”

...Personalities of the Duke in “My Last Duchess” “My Last Duchess" is a poem by Robert Browning, frequently anthologised as an example of the dramatic monologue. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Last_Duchess) In this poem, Browning establishes the personalities of its speaker—the duke indirectly but distinctly through his monologue alone. By reading the monologue, readers can find a duke who is apparently gentle and cultivated, but actually imperious and selfish. This essay is an analysis of the duke’s personalities and how does the poet establish them through monologue. At the beginning and the end of the poem, the duke shows the guest two of his valuable collections. The first one is the portrait of his wife painted by Fra Pandolf. The second one is the Neptune cast by Claus. By showing these valuable masterpieces, the duke wants to prove his love and pursuit of art and to show his good taste. He seems himself as a noble and cultivated gentleman. However, he shows his real personalities such as arrogance, jealousy, hypocrisy and selfishness through his monologue. The poem opens with the duke showing the painting of his dead wife to his guest. The duke calls “that piece a wonder” for his wife looks “as if she were alive”. And he specificly mentions that this painting was done by Fra Pandolf who is an imaginary famous painter. But he immediately says that he mentioned Fra Pandolf “by design” lest his guest fail to appreciate the significance of this painting. At the same...

My Basic Personality

...My Basic Personality By: Kevin R. DuPlanti II Below I’ve compiled a table of my Personality Traits, and corresponding score. The table directly relates to the Basic Personality test from the Self-Assessment Library. Personality Trait | Score | Extraversion | 13 | Agreeableness | 14 | Conscientiousness | 10 | Emotional Stability | 10 | Openness to Experience | 9 | Of the skills and abilities listed in the above table, I would like to focus on Conscientiousness and Emotional Stability. The exact definition of Conscientiousness and Emotional Stability is as follows: con·sci·en·tious [kon-shee-en-shuhs, kon-see-] adjective 1. Controlled by or done according to one's inner sense of what is right; governed by conscience; principled: a conscientious judge. 2. Careful and painstaking; particular; meticulous; scrupulous: conscientious application to the work at hand. Emotional stability Emotional stability distinguishes individuals who are laid back and relaxed from those who are easily stressed and in touch with their emotions. With those definitions now fresh in your mind I’d like to discuss how I hope to develop those skills. I believe that these two traits are synonymous, in that, to be emotionally stable; it requires some sense of conscientiousness about your daily life. On a daily basis I’m challenged to exhibit both of these traits, in work, home, and school life. By focusing on my work at hand, and not being distracted by my co-workers, I...

Personal Narrative: How My Personality Affected My Learning

...My personality affected my learning greatly, because I am a stubborn person and I hate asking others for help. Before I ask anyone for the help, I will try every possible way to solve the problem myself and figure it out. I also dislike when someone makes an important decision for me, without even asking me how I feel and that results in me shutting down, and just be on my own almost trying to escape reality. I think that if I was more open into receiving help from others and more open minded, my experience with learning the English language would have been a lot better. Since my personality is Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and judging (INFJ) I make emotional connections to people and objects, that is how I understand and relate to things...

A Happy Meal for a Happy Mind

...girl I always thought it was a treat to visit McDonalds. This magical place had a giant play-place, ice cream, French fries and of course that special surprise toy contained inside the happy meal. What else could I have wanted? This world lost all of its glamour however, when I became a teen who experienced the inner workings of this land from the side of employment. I will never forget the place that was to be my first experience of the working world. My Fifteenth birthday had just passed and this meant I was finally old enough to enter the work force. So I went to the only place in the area that would hire a kid without experience or a driver’s license, McDonalds. Now, I wasn't entirely thrilled about the idea of working in this environment but if I wanted to get a car in the next year it was off to work for me. Somewhat sullenly, I donned my uniformed baseball cap and made my way behind the service counter. Feeling a little nervous, I fumbled as I attempted to tie my apron behind my back. I began to wonder what I might be assigned to do first. "Well, as long as I can work behind the scenes and avoid talking to people I should be okay." I thought. Standing motionless, I observed the fast-food frenzied scene. Employees were running here and there yelling to one another, order screens were flashing, various machines were buzzing incessantly and a mass of customers waited to be attended...

Communication and Collaboration Strategy Paper

...To learn about communication and being able to work with other people, you should learn each person’s learning style and personality style. There are three different learning styles: visual learners, auditory learners, and tactile/kinesthetic learners. To better understand each style we will look more closely at each individual sytle. First, lets look at visual learners. Visual learners learn best through seeing. Visual learners learn best by seeing facial expressions and by seeing body language. They also tend to sit in the front of classrooms or meetings to avoid distractions (example: people’s bodies blocking their views). Visual learners do better when they have displays they can see (example: videos, illustrated textbooks, and handouts). Visual learners usually take very detailed notes during lectures or discussions. This way they are able to take in and remember more information. The second type of learning style is auditory learners. Auditory learners learn best through listening. Auditory learners tend to talk things through, listen to lectures, listening to what other people say, and verbal discussions. Because they learn through listening, written information does not help them until it is voiced out loud. They also tend to use a tape recorder during lectures so that they can re-play the tape later and better absorb the information. The third type of learning style is tactile/kinesthetic learners. Tactile/kinesthetic learners learn best through touching, moving...

Friend

...and more common. There is a debate that whether people who have different interests and personalities cannot be friend. From my perspective, I agree that people should make friend with the people who have same interests and personalities. The first reason why I hold this view is that it must be easier for two people to communicate with each other when they have same interests and personalities. On one hand people always focus on what they are interested in, so they will catch all opportunities to understand it, including communication, on the other hand, the chat with tow people who have same interests and personalities can avoid the embarrassment of silent. I will take an example of myself. Once I went out with tow friends, one has the same interests and personalities to me, while the other has diverse interests and personalities from us. From my own feeling, I would like to talk with the former one better. Another aspect can never be ignore is that it is possible for two people with diverse interests and personalities to produce divergence and contradiction. In other words, two people with different interests and personalities may have two ideas to same things, so when they stand in an opposite opinion, their friendship perhaps confront with a big challenge, and this challenge possesses destructiveness. It is really possible to cause their friendship to be end. There is an example of my classmates Li and Chen. At the beginning, they were very close friends. Li is a fan of...

Public Relations Profession

...Laurie Ewart J3400 Reflection Paper #1 9/18/13 Secondary Research-Chapter 5 As public relations professional, research would be one of the most important aspects of your career. Research should be your first step before launching a new product or marketing plan. If you fail to do the research first, you risk wasting a great deal of time and money on your project. Researching your target marketing is a huge benefit. Secondary research is essentially a summary of data that has already been collected. If you have a question to answer you can easily access the data and analyze it in order to get the answer you are looking for. This is opposed to primary data, which you would have to conduct new research to get the information you need. While secondary research seems to take much less effort, it still had its advantages and disadvantages. One of the main advantages to secondary research is that it is cost and time effective. Since you will not have to conduct the research you would have very little money and time in simply accessing the data from another source. The amount of time you would save by not conducting research you can now spend on analyzing data or any other areas of your plan that it is needed. Another advantage to secondary research is that you have several different sources that you can utilize to find your data. There are many websites that offer this type of information. One of the largest drawbacks of secondary research is that the results are usually...
