1. What is the difference between culture and race? Why is this distinction important?
Race and culture refers to people, groups, and their classifications although both words are very different in how they classify people. To start with the concept of race and culture, it is important to know what each of them mean. Race is a classification of people according to their physical appearances, geographic ancestry, and heritable characteristics. Culture is a classification of people according to their beliefs and values that include spirituality, religion, region, language, and livelihoods.
2. How diverse is your campus? What advantages are there to a diverse campus? What problems can a lack of diversity cause?
Because I do online classes I wouldn’t be able to know how UOP diversity works, but based my information on past experiences. Diversity brings new opportunities to our college experience, whether it is in the classroom, in an extracurricular club or organization, or in the dorms. Additionally, it shows that your school is committed to equality in education and eliminating the disparities that are often seen in higher education. Even though culture is more diverse than ever, some people still continue to bond more with those of similar races and ethnicities than with those who are different to some degree. It creates a subtle type of exclusion, which is so embedded and deep in our society if we don't break down those barriers, we won't change.
3. Think about your culture (or one of your cultures). What do you like best about it? What do you wish was different?
I have ethnicity of Assyrian culture and one of the best traits about my culture is the language, its none like any there the way the language is perceived with every given word is kind of a pure way to communicate am really fascinated with it. I think wouldn’t wish nothing was different because
