...Taunton Talent Show A Big Hit! On the 9th of December, Taunton School hosted the 2013 Somerset Talent Show. From the outside you could tell this was a serious event. Security guards lined up to show spectators’ good parking places. CCTV cameras were covering the whole area. There were about 6 different ticket zones, to make sure that everyone that got in would be authorized to. Seeing made you think that this was definitely something worth watching. As the event started, I have to say the crowd looked a little dead, but this was just the beginning. Renounced artists, Adam Levine, Katy Perry, and Usher blew everyone’s mind. Since Taunton was quite a small town, I had not expected seeing any of these celebrities anywhere near .When the judges came in, screams started coming from every corner of the room. This was the signal that an awesome event was about to take place. Everyone took their seats, and got ready for the first act, which ended up being an astounding performance from a rock band. Act after act the crowd seemed to be getting more and more warmed up. Overhearing some people talking, the air conditioner satisfied them very much. According to them, in regular inside concerts it is very hard to breathe, today was different for them. The word fun could not enough to explain the true feeling you felt over there. No complaints seemed to be coming from the local neighbors about the noise level; this clearly was organized quite well. This was going quite well for everyone...

The primary notion of postmodernism rejects the modernists preoccupation with aestheticism as well as the formal qualities tied to the movement. In effect, something new is created from something old. As postmodernism progressed, many artists and critics alike began to question the fundamental and intrinsic values and motivations behind the modernist movement. While postmodernists were beginning to explore their newly created movement, French philosophers Jean Baudrillard and Roland Barthes introduced new theories regarding the flourishing artistic practices of simulation and appropriation. In 1967 Roland Barthes wrote in his essay "The Death of the Author," stripped both dominion and creation from artists and writers, declaring, “A text is not a line of words releasing a single ‘theological’ meaning (the ‘message’ of the Author-God), but a multi-dimensional space in which a variety of writings, none of them original, blend and clash.” According to Barthes, no new creations were unique in any way. Levine obtained a diploma in 1944 and attained her B.S in 1949 and completed M.S.N in 1962 from Wayne State University. She served as a consultant to hospitals and schools of nursing. She also provided a teaching structure for medical-surgical nursing and established “The Four Conservation Principles”. “She explicitly linked health to the process of conservation model views health as one of its essential components” (Levine, 1991). The three major concepts of the Conservation Model are 1) wholeness, 2) adaption, and 3) conservation. “Whole, health, hale all are derivations of the Anglo- Saxon word hal” (Levine, 1973, p.11). Myra Levine based her use of wholeness as an open system, which meant exploring the parts of the whole. The next concept according to Levine was adaption, “a process of change whereby the individual retains his integrity within the realities of his internal and external environment” (Levine, 1973, p.11).
