Section 1: Case Study in Brief.

Juho is a 45 year old male living with paranoid schizophrenia. He was born in Finland but moved to Australia as a child, and speaks both English and Finnish. He was stable on a fortnightly Risperdal Consta depot injection but continues to experience distressing auditory hallucinations. Juho currently struggles with self-care, …show more content…
Physical: Juho’s current medical condition, being apparently injured with impaired mobility, could lead to physical health deterioration and permanent poor health if left untreated. Also, his poor nutrition and hygiene over time may cause medical or physical deterioration.

Mental: His medication adherence, distress from auditory hallucinations and paranoia are currently impacting him severely. If his adherence is not addressed, he may continue to experience distress from psychotic symptoms, and may not be able to lead a fulfilling life. This may worsen his ability to feel safe at home, and ultimately pose a risk to his well being and create accommodation concerns. Excessive alcohol intake may also lead to long-term health problems, as well as complications with withdrawal (Archibald et al., 2019).

Social: If no support is given to Juho to avoid social isolation, he may lose close support, may deteriorate without anyone noticing, and his mental state may worsen from a lack of external interaction if he becomes preoccupied with his internal experience (Ellis, …show more content…
