Introduction of Nano Medics and Research

Presently cancer still remains one of the most complicated diseases affecting the human race, despite advances in science and technology in recent times, a cure to this complex disease has yet to be found, the same treatment for cancer has been in use for over 40 years (NIH 2010), change has to occur. Introducing Nano Medics & Research, a UAE based company with the plan to revolutionize healthcare, with the creation of products designed to find a lasting solution to cancer and other complex diseases, with the help of Nanotechnology; “the projected ability to construct items using techniques and tools being developed today to create complete, high performance products’ (NIH 2010). The UAE is the perfect starting ground for Nano Medics because of the government’s readiness to adopt a strategic plan to improve the healthcare sector by 2025; also because Dubai is a popular destination for medical tourism, the Nano-medical revolution is a welcomed development. (Leijen 2013)

Product-Nanomedicine

“This is the monitoring repair, construction and control of the human biological system at a molecular level using engineered Nano devices” (Jr 2006). Applying Nanotechnology in medicine, focusing on cancer research, for instance the use of nanoparticles to target cancer cells, with the knowledge of cellular biology, treatments for tumors are found minimizing the risks of side effects. Also early diagnosis of these cells can be detected with the help of machines developed to increase image capacity when viewing cells, with the knowledge of Nano medicine more treatment options are found to battle cancer and other complex diseases.
Trends in 2025
Global Analysis

Well, till now, we have only gone through the company and the product we are working on. Now, the report gets even more excitable to read once we all know what external factors could be influencing our business in 2025. Underneath, we are going to present an overview of factors contributing to change globally and then breaking down to UAE.

Demographics

Under demographic structure, the global population is going to rise just by a billion more than what is it is today. Today, statistically, the population is roughly 7 billion (Fingar 2008, 23). The population growth all depends on the world to see in that time. World is full of uncertainties when it comes to economic stability, climatic changes, food security and global balance of economic power towards middle-income countries. According to UNICEF, the child population under the age 18 years is going to go up slightly from 2.2 billion to 2.3 billion in 2025 remaining the constant till 2050 (You and Anthony 2012, 4-7). Healthcare provisions are expected to get better by then estimating fertility rates going down letting people live longer. But this particular aspect is still a debatable concern worldwide.
Factors contributing to change in 2025

There are several factors determining the trends shaping the world globally in 2025. Some of the factors include (Frost and Sullivan 2013, 1-23): * Urbanization * Infrastructure Development * Smart is the New Green * Connectivity and Convergence * New Business Models
The detailed illustration is presented in the Appendix below
UAE Analysis
Demographics

Demographics play an important role in understanding the need for health care provisions in UAE. According to statistics, population is going to grow to 15.5 million which means that more and more expats are going to immigrate to this country. Due to large investments planned for healthcare, more educated people will be in demand along with companies manufacturing health care products and supplying to health care units.
PESTEL Analysis

The PESTEL analysis involves Political, Economic, Socio-cultural, Technology, Ecology and Legal frameworks with ideology of examining and scanning the external environment for making the right strategic choice. Moreover, the purpose is to analyze the need of our healthcare product facility in UAE and how important it could be in the future 2025. The detailed PESTEL Analysis of UAE is to be mentioned in the Appendix

UAE organizations in 2025
Knowledge worker roles, skills and capabilities

A knowledge worker is an individual that increases the value of an association by preparing existing data to make new data that could be utilized to characterize and take care of issues. Knowledge worker utilize their astuteness to change over thoughts into items, administrations or courses of action. (mind tools 2012) They are issue solvers instead of generation specialists. These qualities can be helpful to assemble a group to work along in 2025.

2025 work roles

Nano medics will give nature nanotechnology that can change a singular's prosperity. Nano medics will comprise of five primary divisions, every division holding an administrator who is qualified and decently gifted to work in that department. (Goleman 2011) They would be given coaching to pass the learning on to alternate workers and these departments include the IT department, Finance, Research and development, production and manufacturing management quality assurance management, marketing manager and the human resource. The functions of each department will be laid out in the Appendix.
2025 Organization Structure

An effective organization structure that points out the importance of authority and responsibility plays a vital role in the growth and development in a successfully ran company (Coles, Bailey and Calvert 2012, 250).
Nano medics and research center will embrace hierarchical networking strategy that will allow lower level employees to contribute to company both creatively and innovatively, providing the right opportunity. Job labeling will be discourages in the firm in order to lower power distance and also encourage free will, this process will transform tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge. Nano medics and research center will focus on its core competency, which is proving the cure for cancer through nanotechnology with the help of the company’s in house scientist, who are benefiting from a very well structured research and development apartment are able to come up with a cancer treatment plan using a Nano device that detects the cancer and eliminates the infected portions in the human body. A vertical integration process is applied, that allows all the steps from manufacturing to distribution to be done all internally in the firm, this will save cost and keep the standard of both production and service at the top level.
In additional the world is changing at a rapid pace therefore the whole structure of the company will be rotated, furthermore a more flexible working will be hired and trained in order to achieve or met the company’s visions and goals.

Appendix 2: Factors contributing to change in 2025(extended research facts) * Urbanization: Population growth is going to be significantly rapid in urban areas of less developed countries, roughly estimating to 2.4% per year during 2000-2030. Whereas rural population is just to increase at a very slow pace at just 0.02% per year (Baqui 2009, 5-8). * Infrastructure Development: There is going to be vast infrastructural developments by 2025 * Smart is the New Green: Basically, there is going to be three levels of smart products and technologies involving basic sensing devices, then transforming to basic sensing devices linking to one way communication and two way communications. * Connectivity and Convergence: The whole understanding of connectivity is going to be a major concept. People, businesses, homes and city as a whole is going to live under one roof of connectivity. Moreover, this will also accelerate the convergence of products, technologies, industries and competition * New Business Models: An extension to online shopping will be seen in 2025. Basically, shopping can be done in the same manner as we do today in a grocery shop, but in the next ten years, people don’t have to physically go and visit the grocery shops. It will all be done virtually. Moreover, robot demand is going to shoot up commercially. This is what Nano Medics will also adapt to.
Appendix 3: Knowledge worker roles in 2025

IT: this department will allows the most effective and competent way of communication to take place with group of experts.
Since development of Nanomedicine needs a lot of expertise and experimentation, the need of IT is essential. As we had already been talking about our company entirely being controlled by robots in the main operations unit, IT is the source for programming the robots to do the task told by the engineers. IT is going to be everywhere dominating the workplace and its systems. Our manager Rohini is going to take over the IT system in our company. IT is going to act as a backbone of Nano Medics and Research Corp.

FINANCE: This is where people get together and work on the financials of the company. Like every other company, Nano Medics will also have a separate department that deals with financial planning.
The product line that we are working on is a risky one as it is to do with saving a person suffering from cancer. This field has a lot to do with research and development combined with the use of IT. All of this needs support from financial manager for funding them. Basically, this department will work with the combination of accounting and financial principles. Together with preparing budget plans, cash flow statements and regular financial statements, financial personnel will also provide guidance for investment plans. An expert will be in house to provide the necessary funding for the company and to advise the best investment proposal to go for that will yield the maximum returns. All the other departments will be supported by financial personnel.

HR: this department is in charge of the entire company’s affair and the act as the middleman between the management and its employees.

MARKETING: this department plays a huge role in the company because it sells the company in such a way that customers will always rely on it.

QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGEMENT: this department is set to give customers confidence and assurance of the company’s credibility to improve in its performance and be better than its competitors.
Since nanotechnology is a new area, quality standards of a product have to be marked up. High quality standards have to be met, as the product would vastly be used in medicine to cure a patient. Our manager, Idris Mustapha, will look into the quality of the product by preventing mistakes or defects in the manufactured product.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT: this department is in charge of updating and modifying the company so as to maintain its position in the market.
This is the most dominant field of work in nanotechnology. Research and development management will be in demand by 2025 as they help to design the products, lead these processes and manage them. We will create new and more effective production process. Our research and development manager, Ismail who is a proud holder of BS in Biotechnology will handle all the measures and help to find more innovative ways to improve the invention.

Appendix 4: Future of Nanomedicine

The future of nanotechnology could enhance the standpoint for medicinal patients with genuine ailments or wounds. Doctors could hypothetically consider Nano surgery and have the capacity to assault sickness and damage at the atomic level. This, obviously, could eliminate cancer, as the surgical techniques would be carried out on the cell base.
Cancer cells would be distinguished, evacuated, and the surgical implantation of solid cells would soon take after. In addition, there would be a whole Nano surgical field to help cure everything from common maturing to diabetes to bone goads. There would be pretty much nothing that couldn't be repaired (in the long run) with the presentation of Nano surgery. (intro to nanotechnology 2009)
Conclusion
Therefore, Nano Medics and Research Corporation is a fit in UAE with demands and improvisation in healthcare products and services. Cancer, being a complicated disease with one of the main treatments like chemotherapy today needs more and more of scientific research that could completely cure the disease. Therefore, WE have come up with Nanomedicine application, photodynamic therapy that directs to a particular part of the body where the cancerous cell is present. This type of therapy has the potential to completely remove cancerous cells with no prevailing side effects letting the person live again free from cancer.
