INTRODUCTION

The language of gays known as gayspeak has now earned respect from the community and observably been infused in the mainstream language of the society. Language is evolving and with its changing nature, existing language needs to be documented for posterity reasons. Gayspeak is not an exemption. It has to be analyzed especially its morphology. This study focused on the Neologisms and morphological analysis of the language of gays who were studying at Surigao Del Sur State University S.Y. 2015-2016. Neologisms is the name for a relatively new or isolated term, word, or phrase that may be in the process of entering common use, but that has not yet been accepted into mainstream language. According to Bendulo and Felisilda (2011), Gayspeak is simply an adaptation of the mainstream language like English, Filipino, and Cebuano. For the purpose of shielding from the chasms of the heterosexuals, gays construct their language through simple reversal, syllabic reversal, simple reversal with affixation, clipping with affixation, straight words with affixation, and connotation through images.
In today’s generation, Third sex sprung from our society, Homosexuals or gays are one those. With the acceptance of the gays in the society comes the propagation of the gays’ spoken discourse commonly known as gay lingo. Gay lingo is composed basically of terms derived from existing terminologies. According to the DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro, The use of new colloquial terms like gayspeak is part of the evolution of languages that we cannot stop. If this type of language becomes acceptable to society and is being used by the majority, that’s the time it becomes part of official communication.
Languages evolve. Gay lingo is part of the modernization of language so it is important to study its meanings, unique structures and how it’s created for the preservation of knowledge and future references. New words are created and others disappear. The words or phrases currently used by gays, particularly in Surigao Del Sur, may be short-lived. They may be used only by the present batch of gays and may be replaced by other terms in the next three or five years. According to Rafael (2010), gayspeak is the most unstable and malleable of all languages. Documenting gay lingo, therefore, is deemed important for posterity reasons. They may be used as references or as aids in understanding the meaning of future literature material written today.
In this study, the researchers are going to research and interview 20 gays in 4 Colleges in SDSSU and gather different gay words that are commonly used by them. After we gather all the data, analysis and realization of meanings are to be explained.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter contains the method of research used, selection of techniques and instrumentation that the researcher has used and utilized during the data gathering of the study.
Method of Research
This study used Qualitative method to gather rich and bountiful information that will be utilized for the research. Qualitative Research is designed to reveal a target audience’s range of behavior and the perceptions that drive it with reference to specific topics or issues. It uses in-depth studies of small groups of people to guide and support the construction of hypotheses. The results of Qualitative Research are descriptive rather than predictive. This study specifically made use of the Case Study method in order to gather the information needed from the respondents. This method allows a better observation on the natural speaking of the respondents for a better analysis on the language utilization.
Selection of Techniques
The subjects and respondents for this study were personally chosen by the researcher that would fit the study. The participants of this study were carefully selected by the researcher based on their utilization of the language, exposure and familiarity with it.
Respondents
The researcher gathered information from the students of Surigao Del Sur State University. The Researcher will study 5 gays in each College – CAS, CBM, CTE and CECST with the total of 20 respondents.
Data Gathering Procedure
The researcher first gathered information, related studies, articles and other readings that would involve and/or serve a guide towards the study. The researcher then formulated a set of questions that were validated by the research adviser Mrs. Maria Lady Sol A. Suazo.
Research Instrument
A researcher-made and self-administered questionnaire was used in the study. This is a one-page questionnaire divided into two parts. Part I identified the demographic profile of the respondents which include their Name and College. Part II provides two columns. In the 1st column the respondents will write the gay words/phrases as many as they could, and the corresponding meanings of each will be written in the 2nd column.
Data Analysis Procedure

The Study of Language

...This page intentionally left blank The Study of Language This best-selling textbook provides an engaging and user-friendly introduction to the study of language. Assuming no prior knowledge of the subject, Yule presents information in short, bite-sized sections, introducing the major concepts in language study – from how children learn language to why men and women speak differently, through all the key elements of language. This fourth edition has been revised and updated with twenty new sections, covering new accounts of language origins, the key properties of language, text messaging, kinship terms and more than twenty new word etymologies. To increase student engagement with the text, Yule has also included more than fifty new tasks, including thirty involving data analysis, enabling students to apply what they have learned. The online study guide offers students further resources when working on the tasks, while encouraging lively and proactive learning. This is the most fundamental and easy-to-use introduction to the study of language. George Yule has taught Linguistics at the Universities of Edinburgh, Hawai’i, Louisiana State and Minnesota. He is the author of a number of books, including Discourse Analysis (with Gillian Brown, 1983) and Pragmatics (1996). “A genuinely introductory linguistics text, well suited for undergraduates who have little prior experience thinking descriptively about language. Yule’s crisp and thought-provoking presentation of key issues works...
