Novel Review The “Princess Diaries” is the first volume novel that written by Meg Cabot. This novel tells about a young- American-teenage girl named Mia Thermopolis who lives with her Artist mother, Helen in Manhattan. Mia going to a private school called Albert Einstein High and included into unpopular students in her school. She has a lot of main problems that she should dealing like the non-vegetarian food at her school, making sure her cat, Fat Louie, doesn’t eat another sock, and her social life, which is sadly lacking. Mia has a normal life like other teenage girl but one day her life changed 180° after she met with her dad at the Plaza Hotel. Her dad tells her that he is the crown prince of Genovia, a small European principality, and she is the sole heir to the throne since his testicular cancer has left him unable to have more children. At the first time, Mia does not believe it; she knows they are rich, so that’s why she can spend the summers with her father and his grandmother at her chateau in France. In this novel, we can see how Mia runs her days after they know she is a princess, be a best friend with Lily Moscovitz that has her own TV show and is trying to expose the racism of the Chinese owners of the deli across the road for discounting Asian students 5 cents, have to take lessons from her insane grandmother to learn how to be a princess, falls in love with the most popular boy at school, Josh, who doesn't even seem to know she's alive, and other things that happen in her life. The princess diaries novel is written by using a diary or journal format. The author does this thing because she wants her reader feels its Mia’s personal diary that they are reading. This novel is one of the novels that I really love. By using this method of writing, I can easily understand the storyline of this novel and the emotions of Mia. Meg Cabot is a great author because she makes the reader feel attached easily to the characters. She makes the characters in the story were so unique. There are so many different personalities that make the story seems like the real world. For example is the main character of this story, Mia. The author describes Mia’s This book is directed to pre-teens and younger teens, the author tells about the things that usually experienced by teenager girl. Meg Cabot seems really voice out what teenager’s thoughts and how they perspective about something. Even thought, this novel is for teens. I think there are a lot of issues and swearing word that really inappropriate to read. Overall the princess diaries novel is a good novel that has a simple story line. This novel is good for pre-teen and young teen girls. This novel also was such an enjoyable read that thought us so much about life and the things that are most important in life such as ones family and also how crucial it is to not dwell on what people think of you or how they might judge you to be and that it is okay to just be yourself.

If you were doing a simple research paper you could write about performance reviews based on research alone. In this Sr Paper you must determine the state of the art based on your Literature Review. Then you will give the background of the problem and discuss it. This must all lead to two Courses of Action (COAs; solutions) that are tied to your title and problem. You need a “product” such as a process, a plan, a strategy, a program – something that can be recommended and implemented. Problem Statement (if not finalized post a draft – focus on the "pain.") The problem is that after initial training employees are not being reviewed for current performance. Suggest that after this initial statement you add something more about the problem. In the handbook employees are supposed to have a review after 90 days but they are not being implemented. Hard Side of Change Management 1

...paid to the hard factors first, transformation programs will break down before the soft elements come into play. * A study by Harvard Business Review revealed that outcome (success or failure) of a change program depends on four hard factors * Duration * Integrity * Commitment * Effort Page 2 – DURATION * Refers to the project duration, particularly the time between project reviews. * It is assumed that the longer a program, the more likely it is to fail. * Window of opportunity will close, key objectives will be forgotten, key supporters will lose enthusiasm are some of the reasons for this assumption. * Although, contrary to popular perception, a long project that is reviewed frequently, is more likely to succeed than a short project that is not reviewed frequently. * Time between reviews is more critical than a project’s life span. Page 3 – * Transformation projects should be reviewed at least once in two months since the probability that change initiative will run into trouble rises exponentially if time between reviews is more than eight weeks. * The higher the complexity of the project, the more frequently it should be reviewed to keep the project on the track. * Scheduling milestones and assessing their impact are the best way by which executives can review the execution of projects, identify gaps, and spot new risks. * Most effective milestones are those that describe major actions or achievements...

The 7 Habits

... Book Reviews Like 17 people like this. What this handout is about This handout will help you write a book review, a report or essay that offers a critical perspective on a text. It offers a process and suggests some strategies for writing book reviews. What is a review? A review is a critical evaluation of a text, event, object, or phenomenon. Reviews can consider books, articles, entire genres or fields of literature, architecture, art, fashion, restaurants, policies, exhibitions, performances, and many other forms. This handout will focus on book reviews. Above all, a review makes an argument. The most important element of a review is that it is a commentary, not merely a summary. It allows you to enter into dialogue and discussion with the work’s creator and with other audiences. You can offer agreement or disagreement and identify where you find the work exemplary or deficient in its knowledge, judgments, or organization. You should clearly state your opinion of the work in question, and that statement will probably resemble other types of academic writing, with a thesis statement, supporting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Typically, reviews are brief. In newspapers and academic journals, they rarely exceed 1000 words, although you may encounter lengthier assignments and extended commentaries. In either case, reviews need to be succinct. While they vary in tone, subject, and style, they share some common features: First, a review gives the...

...1. Good Review – The good review I found was on goodreads.com for Life of Pi. The author of the review did not regurgitate the synopsis found on the back of the book nor laden the review with spoilers, but rather gave his/her opinion on the book, the narrative style, writing and structure and what was enjoyable about the book for him/her. 2. Bad Review – I found a bad review on amazon.com for The Girl on the Train. The reviewer, J.Regan, noted that the story was well written, that it keeps the reader’s attention but that the main character could be hard to like at times. There was no detail as to the writing style, nor why or how the author was able to keep reader’s attention. The reviewer also failed to explain why he/she did not like the main character at points in the book. With no further details, this review does not help someone interested in the book decide whether they may like it or not. 3. Fake Review – As I was looking for reviews on the book I’m reading for the critical review project, I Don’t Have a Thing to Wear: The Psychology of Your Closet, I found a title of a review that struck me as odd and the review itself was a bit over the top which to me comes off as fake. It was rated five stars and the review appears to be written by a girl’s boyfriend stating that “she can’t put it down” and “she just raves about it constantly” (Bouton, 2003). The one part that really puts me off about this review is that he says “and I wish I had a nickel for each time I've...

O’Rourke, the political satirist, reviews in this issue a new book about Starbucks. He told us, in an e-mail exchange, how he brews his own reviews: “I read something I’m reviewing the same way I read other things except more so. That is, I already keep a commonplace book (a file folder, really) for quotations, ideas, information, etc. If I’m going to write a review I mark the work for myself, but besides underlining what interests me I also underline what — as far as I can tell — interested the author. By the time I’m done I have an outline for the review. All I have to do is figure out a smart-aleck lead sentence and a wiseacre ending.”[1] 2. Adjunct Nursing Faculty

...consequence of employing unqualified adjunct faculty is student dissatisfaction with their clinical learning experience. In turn, this results in less-than-favorable adjunct clinical instructor evaluation. The purpose of the appreciative inquiry is to collect data on the teaching skills of new and adjunct clinical instructors. This is important, because it is the mission of the university and the nursing program to deliver quality education to all students. It is also important to retain excellent clinical instructors for the nursing program’s accreditation status. The best way to do this is to ensure that all clinical instructors are provided with the necessary information to succeed in clinical rotations. The clinical peer review evaluation plan is designed to collect participant’s stories and includes an observation phase. The participants are the new and adjunct clinical instructors, and the reviewers are clinical nurse instructors who are certified nurse educators. The key evaluation topics were based on the eight competencies for nurse educators found in the National League for Nursing (NLN). Through the appreciative interview, the strengths and wishes of the clinical faculty will be recorded. Included in this information will be the data collected from the clinical observation and the reflection phase of the evaluation. The evaluation plan was designed by the clinical certified nurse educators. The NLN’s eight nurse educator competencies were designed...
