Introduction:
Iains & Co is a large company that currently employs IT technicians to manage their IT infrastructure and support the users. The company feels they need IT support system that will track and report the progress of problems that are identified by the users. The IT support system needs to monitor the use of IT hardware, such as: keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer etc. in order to improve the service provided for the uses and ensure the services is operated in an efficient way. So In this assignment I will be discussing the principles of systems analysis and one method that are used in the systems analysis process when designing computer systems. What are the features of database?
• Entity- It’s an important object about which data must be captured. For example I will use Entity for the Iain and co Company will use it for the employee details, hardware location, hardware type, hardware details, supplier types and problem description.
• Records- Is a row that signifies a single, implicitly organized data item in a table. I will use a record for the employee details and hardware details for Iains & Co Company.
• Attributes- are fields that need to have properties defined according to the nature of the data that it will store. For example I will use attributes user ID, date of birth, telephone number, home address etc. for the Iain and co Company.
• Form- it’s a screen that allows users enter data into the database. It also helps users understand the work with data.
• Objects- is a database management system(DBMS) that is similar to a relational database, but with an object-oriented programming
• Validation rule-is a standard used in the method of data validation and it’s carried out after the data has been programmed onto an input medium data vet or validation
