So being played with is like getting caught up in a wave yes you saw it coming but you decide that it look attractive so you wait and see what happens and you realize now after you get washed or hit by it you realize how stupid you were to wait and put you self in that position when you could of run away from it …. Sometimes we get our self’s in some sticky situation and we feel that our mess is too big to be cleaned up or we were stupid to be so blind at what was going to happen but one we are not perfect we make mistakes and we get hurt along the way but sooner or later that mistake becomes something you don’t want happening again..
Something happen in YOUR life and it was very bad traumatic and we couldn’t control it and it left a scar and every time we see the scar it could be a memory or a dream or a song doesn’t always have to be physical..We ask our self why me? Or how could this powerful all knowing and omnipresent God allow this to happen to us. He knew about it? And he knew that this experience might hurt at first and leave a scar and the pain might be too much to bear..and we might hurt ourselves in the process..but he cause it for us to get closer to him so we could find him as the remedy and too love him and to make us find healing in him and to run to him when things get rough but after he let that happen we become angry at him and decide well you may be you’re angry at me too and go far away from him and hide and then the cut little as it was starts to get infected and started to spread and you realize now that nothing in this world could help drugs, alcohol, sex, boyfriend to make you feel good about you ect…yall know what I’m talking about after all the running away and getting caught up in the world and trying to heal for ourselves we break down finally and realize that we cant fight it for ourselves we need our maker to come in and break down the walls and to heal our wounds that hurt so bad..and make us feel worthless, twisted, hurt unloved and the list goes on…when you cry he cries all the silent tears on the pillows at night or the knife on your wrist to numb the pain….God sent his son the ultimate healer to do all the healing he watch him get beaten and as the blood came from every wound Jesus saw everything that was going to happen he saw a family breaking up..He saw a man beating his wife..he saw the Abuse his daughter or son had to go through…he saw the murders kill and the pain in his heart was unbearable and what he did he died he died for all off that so that when we believe and trust him with our life and say NO to Satan and his temptations…he went through it all with his children in his mind so what if It hurts he wants to heal the hurt you feeling or that scar in your heart that secret place he want to clean it up make you whole again he wants to clean that ugly past of yours and make you a new creation… some people might ask why why he ent know me Yes he knew you even before you were born and he saw what was going to happen and that why he stayed there and died so that his blood could cover our sins and clean up that messy life and turn it to a message ..Turn that test into a testimony and take you out from being that heavy person all sad depress and make you happy with a gladness in your heart that no man can take away from you… he wants to see you happy he wants to be loved by you and to love you he what to give you a better future so say YES

So you said yes and its all good but you prayering and you feel that he is not answering or he doesn’t love you anymore..and the devil starts to feel you up with lies and manipulates you to do wrong and you feel that he cleaned me up once he may be tired of me now always messing up or not listening but let me remind you ..the same way he saw you before is the same way he sees you he just want to love you more and more but you have to let go and give him everything ….don’t hold nothing back the grudges ,unforgivess ect ..he wants you too come he saw you messing up 12 months after he saved you he saw you being stubborn he saw you got hurt again He came to save the world not condemn it so if you been running or you’re a Christian and the hurt is too much he wants you too come too him as you are don’t try to fix you he can do the fixing he is the fixer you the clay he is the potter let him mold you too be like him and to love like him allow him to use you even when its hurts do it …..And he will make your path straight trust him and trust his word and everything will be alright you will overcome this cause he overcame the world

Three Cups of Tea

...Joseph Nye in The Powers to Lead defines what he believes to be a leader and the skills necessary to be a leader. Greg Mortenson, the focus of Three Cups of Tea, fulfills Nye’s definition of a leader. After failing to summit K2, Mortenson stumbled upon a small Pakistani village and began a journey that would not only change his life, but the lives of thousand of children in Pakistan. While building schools in Pakistan, Mortenson has helped transform the mindset of an entire nation about the value of education. Nye says that two-thirds of Americans believe they are in “leadership crisis” (Nye pre). After the collapse of the sub-prime housing market and recent economic struggles, who can blame them? Those who are looking for a leader, however, need look no further than Greg Mortenson. Joseph Nye defines a leader as one who “helps create and achieve shared goals” (Nye 18). A leader must act in a triangular system that involves the leader, his followers, and the context in which the situation exists (Nye 21). Mortenson works effectively as a member of the leadership triangle. He acts as the leader and his followers are the towns, villages, and refugee camps that receive the benefits of his schools, water systems, and community centers as well as his assistants and the members of the Central Asia Institute. The context in which Mortenson exercises his leadership is as equally important as the other two parts of the triangle. As Nye quotes Karl Marx as saying, “Men make...

Soft Power

...com Ty Solomon University of Glasgow, UK Abstract The concept of soft power occupies a prominent place in International Relations, foreign policy, and security studies. Primarily developed by Joseph S. Nye, the concept is typically drawn upon to emphasize the more intangible dimensions of power in a field long dominated by overtly material (i.e. military) power. Recently, some scholars have reframed soft power — specifically the key notion of attraction — as a narrative and linguistic process. This literature, however, has downplayed some of the other deep-seated underpinnings of soft power, which this article argues lie in the dynamics of affect. Building upon the International Relations affect and aesthetics literatures, this article develops the concept of soft power as rooted in the political dynamics of emotion and introduces the concept of affective investment. The attraction of soft power stems not only from its cultural influence or narrative construction, but more fundamentally from audiences’ affective investments in the images of identity that it produces. The empirical import of these ideas is offered in an analysis of the construction of American attraction in the war on terror. Keywords Affect, discourse, emotion, narrative, Nye, soft power Introduction In her confirmation hearings in January 2009 before the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton argued that to deal with a multiplicity of pressing global...

Happiness

...Brian Pun 3-22-15 The Joy Of Being In “The Joy of Being”, by Tarthang Tulku, the practice of Kum Nye is explained to allow the reader to practice the techniques allow for an understanding of one’s mind and senses. Kum Nye is also known as Tibetan Yoga, where the system of gentle movement exercises, breathing techniques, and self-massage, hope to harmonize and integrate body and mind, self and world. The exercises help reduce stress, balance emotions, and catalyze a deep healing process. Tarthang Tulku emphasizes the relationship between mind and our senses. Mind is referred to as “mind” because one concept is the objectification of things. Once we say “the mind” or “my mind” it limits our understanding. By referring it to as “mind” it separates it from us and allows for the flow of senses to energize our mind. Our senses open up ourselves and set up a foundation in order for us to experience certain things, but ultimately, mind is the key to change and transformation. (70,3) By realizing and cultivating our senses, it allows the flow of energy and the conversion of our emotions in order to feel wholesome and happy. Tulku emphasizes the conversion of our emotions into energy for our benefit because what we have done is limit ourselves with our language. By labeling things, it defines it and scripts it into law. (122,3). We cannot fully realize emotions or knowledge because we limit the full magnitude of what our experience is once we formulate words to describe...

Science for Everyday Life

... Over time there have been many types of scientist and they weren’t all wearing lab coats. Leonardo da Vinci was one I found interesting due to my love of art. He combined art and science in his sketches. He has amazing futuristic designs and even envisioned flight. Sadly he was a chronic procrastinator and had frequent disasters with his experiments of new techniques (Leonadoda-Vinci). Galileo Galilei was an Italian scientist who developed the telescopes and started to observe the solar system. He was a pioneer of observations for modern physics and astronomy (Biography). Emanuel Swedenborg was a scientist who lived from (1688-1772). He is very interesting to me as he is one of the founders of Modern Spiritualism. His scientific work had plans for flying machines. He wrote books on chemistry, physics and the first book in Swedish on algebra (Swedenborg)....

Making a Fist

...Making a Fist In Naomi Shihab Nye’s poem “Making a Fist”, she looks back on her childhood memories and her obstacles in life. She asks her mom how you know when you are going to die, and her mom says when you can’t make a fist anymore. Later in life, she continues to make a fist just as a reminder that everything is okay. In the poem, Naomi uses figurative language, different points of view, and an interesting title all to tie in the story. The speaker in this poem is a woman reflecting back on her life when she was seven, and reminiscing the moment. The poem starts off in the perspective of a seven year old girl in the back seat of her mom’s car, when she discovers that you are dying when you can no longer make a fist. The poem continues on and develops to be in the perspective of the same girl, but much older. She reflects on the times when things were much simpler. The woman has matured, and to that day she remembers what her mom told her. When she says, “I, who did not die, who am still living,” she is saying that she has overcome obstacles since she was young, and that she will continue to overcome them. I think that the girl in this story is Naomi, the author of the poem. I think this because Naomi is such a personal writer, and the way she is with words just makes it seem so realistic. I think that the only way she could get across such an amazing message is that if it happened to her. Although, this message that she is getting across can be perceived in many different...

Bill Nye the Science Guy

...Bill Nye the Science Guy Back then when everything was so very tall, so much that all the cookies I wanted were always out of my reach, I hardly had anything to do in my life. I guess my mom was too correct when she said all I needed to do was grow up and be healthy; the most fun thing I remember myself doing is play around with those buttons on the television that my dad never seemed to touch. Of course, my actions resulted in the addiction to television that I have at this moment, but I’m thankful for my past self. If it wasn’t for my kid-self, I wouldn’t have found Bill Nye the Science Guy. When the playful music started in the introduction, I found myself liking the flying gewgaws and things (most of which were supposedly science-related), and the floating head that spun around with a smile. After the 5th occurrence of the name Bill, I started singing along, even in the sections that didn’t involve any lyrics. It was clearly a cleverly designed mind control scheme; I knew I was going to be compelled to see another episode later. Nevertheless, I simply had to continue watching. As soon as the theme song finished, there were scientists who talked about the topic for the day. I was filled with hope that I could be a scientist too because I could relate to those kids on the show. Then the man himself exploded out of the corner of the screen and started wildly talking about whatever he was talking about. I figured I was supposed to be excited, because he was talking...

That expertise ranges from backgrounds in the non-profit sector to occupational therapy, financial analysis, logistics, international consultancy, and corporate management. The specific work expertise related to marketing that is relevant to this class is also varied with some members having strong expertise in marketing, sales and business and financial relations, while others have had no experience at all in marketing. This sets up the members for an interesting working relationship. All have had ample experience doing group work in past classes at Liberty University. The group is dynamic in nature. All in all, the individuals are go-getters who work well both as managers and as team members or followers. There seems to be a common work ethic where all members have a strong sense of initiative and are autonomous and self-motivated. While clearly acknowledging that no one is perfect, all seem committed to strive for excellence. Most of the members are process oriented and there is a strong sentiment that the tasks, guidance and specific roles for each individual in the group will need to be clear at all times. All members work reasonably well under pressure, but some members feel that stress is best...

Interview with My Mother

...Interview Project My person of choice to interview for this project was my mother. She has personally in business for well over 15 years. She is talented and knows what she is doing through and through, and has helped lead her team to the top many times. My mother Jill works as an area manager for SunTrust in the Charlotte area. I decided to pick her, not only to have someone to interview, but also to get to know her on a more personal level and to see personally how she truly feels about what she does. I set up the interview via email. It becomes difficult trying to get together and be able to sit down and personally conduct the interview when she is out and about working. I attempt to visit as often as I can, but there are some nights that she doesn’t get home until really late. She was welcome and willing to do it, and her answers gave me more of an insight of what she really does. Here are the following questions, as well as answers. 1.) a. How do you measure success? In many ways… as a leader I measure success by how well my team achieves various key measures. My personal success is when my team is considered successful by others. b. Where does that measurement stand now? Currently we are exceeding key metrics and a majority of the 18 branches I lead are at or above target for the 4th quarter. c. What actions are you taking to change the measurement(s) (in the right direction)? My goal is to have all branches achieve their goals so for those that are not at...

Math and Me

...Math and Me Vanessa Bashore MM212: College Algebra “We both just did out fives yesterday, how can she be doing her sixes already today?” I can remember thinking this like it was yesterday instead of 29 years ago. I was in first grade, and we were doing our times tables. I had been the first one to do all of my numbers so far in the class, and now Sara was up there doing her sixes before I knew them. That would just not do for me, so that night I went home and learned the rest of my numbers, six through nine, to be able to do them for the teacher the very next day. I guess you can say that this is where my love for math started. I am not saying that I never had to study or that I have never struggled with any math in my life, but for the most part, most of the math classes I have taken in my life have come pretty easily to me. I love when you are struggling with something in math and all of a sudden you have that a-ha moment where everything suddenly makes sense. In the past I have taken all the basics in math including Algebra and Geometry. However, these courses were also taken almost 20 years ago, and I have to admit that I am a bit rusty when it comes to all of the formulas and properties. Even though I may not remember all of the formulas, I still consider my previous courses a success. I may not remember the exact formula, but I do remember that the formulas exist and it is just a matter of looking the formula up and plugging in the right numbers to get the correct...

I will be describing the work environment of these companies and identifying elements that promote motivation and cohesion among employees in these workplaces. Additionally, I will be relating my observations to materials found in our textbook. The first company that I will be discussing is Dreamworks Animation. Effective Follower

...particular is effective followers. How does an effective follower work and what does is it that drives them? There are five main characteristics that we are going to focus on for an effective follower and they are: dedication, independent thinker, active in the organization, self-management, and willing to take risks. Dedication is defined as the quality of being dedicated to a task or purpose, but it can also be interchanged with loyalty. An effective follower is someone who a colleague or manager can count on because they know that they will give it one hundred percent when it comes to completing a task. They tend to really believe in what they are doing and that is where the sense of dedication comes from. For example a dedicated employee would be willing to put in the long hours and extra time that it would take to complete a project. Their boss trusts that the work will not be sloppy or incomplete because their loyalty is outstanding. Dedication is very important to being an effective follower. A second important quality is being an independent thinker. In reference to the project example mentioned above an effective follower would be the person who would think outside the box for a solution to a problem. They do not rely on others when contemplating the options. This does not mean that they do not work well in teams. They are perfectly capable of participating in a group, but they do have the ability to work solo on an issue that might arise. It is because of this that they...
