To my dearest family who have waited so patiently for my response,

Mère! I have missed you so. And you, too, papa. I desperately miss Susu; I wish I had brought that little furry bundle of joy along with me, but alas, she always was a trouble-making pup. I have much to tell you about this strange world - yes, world, as it seems so alien and different that it is best described as a whole other world! Octobre is such an odd month here. As soon as the first of the month arrives, there are so many ghostly figures upon clothes and even upon pastries. Now it is le 31 Octobre.

The costumes! It is only six in the evening yet I have already seen three little girls with fake fabric wings strapped to their backs. Oh, and a princess with her knightly brother. Back home in Lyon, there were only vampires and Grim Reapers dotting the streets.
