...(2014): 333. Print This study examined the mediating effects of relationship satisfaction, prayer for a partner, and morbidity in the relationship between attachment and loneliness, infidelity and loneliness, and psychological morbidity and loneliness, in college students involved in a romantic relationship. The present results expand the literature on attachment by presenting evidence that anxious and avoidant partners experience loneliness differently. By utilizing this data, I will have an easier time determining how the relationship effects the each member of the couple's personal lives with this as a reference. This study is a credible source due to the primary author, Grace M. Pereria's background as an established writer from the University of Minho from Braga, Portugal. Having released over 30 publications and been used as a citation by multiple other researchers further proves her credibility. 2. Regan, Pamela C. Love, College Style. n.p., 2012. Print. Persuasive Essay: Should College Football Players Be Paid

...paycheck arrives , it reads $0.00. This is the life of a college football player. College football players put in countless hours of hard work everyday for their universities and receive very minimal benefits. These kids can severely mess up the rest of their lives with one hit and nothing is guaranteed in this business. If something happens to a player where he cannot play football anymore, that school can pull the scholarship right out from under his feet, leaving him with nothing, most unable to pay tuition on their own. In 2010 the Southeastern Conference (SEC) made over a billion...

Criminal Law

...use of practices that have been scientifically tested and proven effective. In simple terms, doing what works. This has led to drastic changes in various sectors from police operations, probation, sentencing, etc. When examining capital punishment the first question that must be asked is why do we do it? Is it simply a universal response to an atrocious act committed by an offender? If so, then there is no need to look any further. However, thousands of capital offense convictions are handed down annually in the U.S., yet most do not result in death penalty sentences. Therefore the only logical conclusion is that there is much more complexities in play once the state hands down capital punishment. Possible Effects of Capital Punishments at a Glance By and large, capital punishment in the United States is handed down to those offenders that are found guilty of homicide. Although not limited to strictly homicide, the overwhelming majority of those executed and assigned to death row have committed such offenses. Therefore, the focus of this paper is centered around capital punishment, and its effect on homicide. Some will contend that capital punishment serves as a deterrent for those in society that have not committed such offenses, but may be considering. Others believe that...

Recruiting Violations in College Athletics

...Athletics Michael P. Murphy IDST J497 Williams The issues of recruiting violations, academic misconduct, administrative negligence, illegal booster involvement, and a general lack of University oversight are all problems that continue to mar the once highly regarded reputations of academic institutions across America. These transgressions, which occur at shockingly consistent rates around campuses nationwide, (committed by faculty, coaches, players, administrators, and alumni), are effectively compromising the sacred amateurism college athletics has maintained to define its culture and provide credence for its illustrious traditions for over a century. Ethical questions of this magnitude have been pondered by academics and legal stalwarts alike with great depth both at the local and global level for years. Several studies reflect that a substantial percentage of the “major” NCAA recruiting violations and cases of egregious academic misconduct occur typically at institutions where local administrators and financiers have created a “win at all costs” culture pertaining to BCS (Bowl Championship Series) football and the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament. A handful of local schools sanctioned by the NCAA in the last few decades for recruiting violations and academic misconduct include the University of South Carolina, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech, LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas. Each year the NCAA collects its constituents: college presidents, athletic directors, and compliance...

Influence of Home Video on the Young Adults

...CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION 1. Background to the Study Films, generally, serve as a tool for national integration and development. Major types of film are home video, which develop, until now, from what is formerly known as cinema or stage play/drama. As part of mass media, home videos play the important roles of informing, educating, entertaining and transmitting social heritage. Through their educational role, however, home videos concern themselves with evolving a better society by exposing societal ill and wrongs. Since the emergence of home videos, at the turn of the twenty-first century the films industries, and both male and female actors in Nigeria, Nollywood, have considerably influenced the habits, belief systems, style of dressing and other behavioural idiosyncrasies on many Nigerian youths. Thus, one can say, however, that the emergence of home videos have helped to promote the Nigerian cultural heritage; aside this, it has awaken in many youths the Nigerian culture that was once lost during the colonial period. There are also negative effects of home videos on audiences. However, there have been cases where home videos are criticized to the cause for some societal ills. Social critics, who believes in this school of thought says that some antisocial behaviours like violence and extravagant life that many films portrays in their content perceptibly affect the behavior of the audience. Nonetheless, all these sum up to mean that home videos have both positive...
