Velfærdsstaten i klemme

Forventningsklemmen

Baan has limitations to generate reports from multiple companies/servers combination. Creating a global universe in BO connecting various company/server (Baan 4, Baan5) will enable us to create much needed consolidated reports at MEP code level. Global universe will also connect to FDSS for using Global mappings like Global Accounts, Bus Org, Global Cost centers, Global Product Lines.. Etc. Using Baan data and Global mappings, reports with Global dimensions can be produced dynamically. Business Objects will be used as the common reporting tool for Finance Reporting. BO will be used to produce dynamic reports from Baan similar to OLS formats. This will be a great help for the site Finance teams to effectively monitor their Month end numbers and verify the data immediately in BO reports before the data is sent to OLS. Smart Dash boards can be designed in BO for showing key performance indicators for the site finance teams dynamically like AP balance, AR Balance, Open Work Orders, exposure by customer etc.. ...

Synthesis of a Tertiary Phosphine

...The synthesis of a novel palladium-phosphine catalyst and its Sonogashira cross-coupling activity. ________________________________________ Chemical catalysis was investigated through the synthesis of a palladium catalyst (Figure 1) containing the novel phosphine ligand 1-naphthyl(diphenyl)phosphine. A Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction catalyzed by the new palladium catalyst was carried out and compared to the results observed using a common catalyst, Palladium dichlorobis(triphenylphosphine). The results of relevant catalytic methods were characterized by analytical tools and a prospective mechanism of the observed cross-coupling suggested. Figure 1: [PdCl2(PPh2Ar)2] (Ar = 1-naphthyl) ________________________________________ Catalysis is an increasingly integral part of synthetic organic chemistry due to its ability to facilitate such large improvements in reaction rate and selectivity control. The careful design of organometallic palladium compounds with incorporation of ligands of varying reactivity, lability and steric bulk allows the production of increasingly effective catalysts. Phosphines such as triphenylphosphine are categorically important ligands in inorganic chemistry mainly due to applications in asymmetric synthesis, however another important utility is noticeable in palladium-catalysed coupling reactions. In 1975 a method appeared for preparing symmetrically substituted alkynes, afterwards named the Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction1. This method...

This version tries to do the same, but several enhancements have been made that will interest those teaching more advanced courses. I have come to appreciate the power and usefulness of gretl’s powerful scripting language, now called hansl. Hansl is powerful enough to do some serious computing, but simple enough for novices to learn. In this version of the book, you will find more information about writing functions and using loops to obtain basic results. The programs have been generalized in many instances so that they could be adapted for other uses if desired. As I learn more about hansl specifically...

Copies of working papers are available from the author. How did increased competition affect credit ratings? Draft Date: September 15, 2010 Bo Becker and Todd Milbourn* Abstract. The credit rating industry has historically been dominated by just two agencies, Moody’s and S&P, leading to longstanding legislative and regulatory calls for increased competition. The material entry of a third rating agency (Fitch) to the competitive landscape offers a unique experiment to empirically examine how in fact increased competition affects the credit ratings market. Increased competition from Fitch coincides with lower quality ratings from the incumbents: rating levels went up, the correlation between ratings and market-implied yields fell, and the ability of ratings to predict default deteriorated. We offer several possible explanations for these findings that are linked to existing theories. Key words: Credit ratings; competition and reputation; information quality * Harvard Business School (Becker) and Washington University in St Louis (Milbourn). ...James Dela Pena Living in the Information Age (SOS-110-OL) Aug 2013 Written Assignment 2 The difference between an Internet search engine such as Google or Yahoo and a search using a library subscription database of professional and juried articles are extreme. I started my research by choosing two different search tools, Google and EBSCO’s Academic premiere search database. In both search bars I searched for “ privacy and security on the internet” and was amazed by the different results between the two. The main difference I noticed between the two was how easy and fast I was able to validate and verify the information from the EBSCO results and not so much from the Google results. On the EBSCO database, the first thing you see when you click on a search result is some brief background information of the article. It lists the Authors, Document type, company or entity that’s running the article and a brief discussion of what the articles about. Additionally, you can click on the text to find out more information about the author or company running the article. When I see information like that it puts a good feeling in my gut that tells me that the information is good to go. When I go through the Google results, not all of them have authors attached to the articles or if they do their names aren't hypertext so I can’t just click on it and get more information that way. I would have to open a new window and do a whole new search. Also, on the Google results...
