The School of Management at GMU is currently planning to build a new business school building. The first step in this project is to obtain approval from the Board of Trustees. Once this is done, building permits can be obtained at the same time that bids for furniture are requested and the faculty recruitment process is initiated. After the building permits are obtained, construction can begin. Upon completion of the construction, landscaping can start and the interior work on the offices can be done simultaneously. After the interiors are completed, a certificate of occupancy can be obtained after the final inspection of the interiors by the Fire Marshall. A final cleanup of both the interior and exterior (landscaping must be complete and the certificate of occupancy must have been obtained) then needs to be done. Once the cleanup is complete, the office furniture can be installed and the building is then ready for occupation.
