Online teaching provides students the opportunity to interact in learning environments by engaging in thoughtfully designed hands-on learning activities, collaborating with their peers at different levels, participating in online learning communities, and creating their own personal learning environments that help them build lifelong learning skills. Teaching online requires more time and effort than a face-to-face course because of the amount of work involved in creating a high quality learner-centered product; investing a considerable amount of time designing the course and provide pedagogical, enhancing collaboration, fostering reflection exploring new pedagogical approaches with the capabilities of different technology platforms.
This class presented a framework for constructing innovative, learner-centered, online learning environments. It explored the ways to transform existing pedagogies to the online environment, and enabled the exploration and discovery of new pedagogical approaches, and encouraging participatory, collaborative, and engaging inquiry-based and social learning practices. Online teachers are key participants in successful online learning and in designing and structuring an online course. Through integrating technology into the pedagogical mix, teachers must examine the pedagogical potential of online technologies in constructing online learning experiences within their content areas. The course design processes showed variety depending on whether the course was going to be taught the first time, recreated from a face-to-face course, or duplicated from a previously taught online course.
Successful online teaching includes many elements of successful face-to-face teaching, interactions between the student, teacher, content, and the learning environment, having a good quality syllabus, communicating the course expectations to the students,
