On-site daycare variables-

When a corporation or business decides on whether to offer its employee’s an option of on-site daycare there are many variables that the employer can . These variables range from the cost of furnishing a facility capable of handling children of different ages, hiring people to take care of the children and general operations costs. There are also benefits to this type of program too. The decision of whether to offer this option or not has to be researched by those in charge and the pros weighed against the cons before a decision is made . The major advantages of this type of program is that it can increase recruiting for a company, if a potential employee who the company is actively pursuing for a position has children and is looking for a company that provides on-site daycare the potential employee is more apt to take the position. It also gives the company a better persona in the community; it shows that they truly care about their employees. On-site daycare also increases employee satisfaction and reduces absenteeism, if an employee knows that their child is in a safe place nearby it makes the work day less stressful. Another variable for consideration is the costs and liability that a company has to assume when starting up an on-site daycare facility. There are costs incurred by the HR department for hiring qualified people to work in the facility, the workers need to be properly trained and qualified in CPR and childcare development. Those making the decision have to weigh the options of taking away some perks from employees to cover the cost of running an on-site facility.
