Overpopulation In Ayn Rand's Anthem

Anthem is the story of a one man’s desire to push the boundaries of an authoritative regime in an effort destabilize it and expose its control over the population and liberate people’s minds to speak and think freely. Written by Ayn Rand, the story focuses on a man by the name of Equality 7-2521. He was blessed with a higher intelligence than that of his brothers in the community. With his higher intelligence he understood the motives of the Council and was not content them control everyone else. In an effort to discover new things he breaks several laws to see what the Council will do in response. The Council was not aware of these activities and they were not going to let him try to do anything against them. All of the brothers are supposed to be about the same people, same height, looks and brains. But Equality 7-2521 meets none of those standards with his brothers. He is taller, has different eyes and hair, and he is much more intelligent than his fellow brothers. “We are six feet tall, and this is a burden, for there are not many men who are six feet tall. Ever have the Teachers and the Leaders pointed to us and frowned and said: "There is evil in your bones, Equality 7-2521, for your body has grown beyond the bodies of your brothers." (18) Not only do his teachers recognize that he is much different that his brothers, the Council realizes this and they give him a job so that he won’t look so different in society because he would be an outcast. Outcasts are independent and alone, and in this community being alone and independent are one of their most enforced regulations. The Council sees something wrong with this Equality 7-2521 and they don't want him to do anything to reprimand what they are trying to do in this
