Enjoy a 2 nights Caribbean Cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, aboard the “Regal Empress”. Relax and enjoy fine dining, exciting casino action and Las Vegas style shows. Including is $50 in Match play ship’s casino. All for just $2250.00 sound good and excited, great sales man on the other end, so persistence and determine painted a picture that no one can say no, even I say yes.
I get a call from a sales agent in 2010 about a great vacation for couple it did sound good and excited, since I haven’t gone on a vacation so long I was so convinced that this is the best deal it’s like paradise. I was busy with work and college and didn’t take a vacation in two years, I think this is the best opportunity and I seize the moment. Paying by credit card, I was even giving a year to pay a small lump sum as I desire and have two years to use the vacation, sound so excited it’s like a dream comes through. I received a brochure and the entire necessary document in a week after I made a decision with the sales man on the phone. Of course he says this is your last chance to buy this package deal, because today is the last day we are offering this deal. You are one luck winner and this is a great chance for you to throw back and relax like there is no tomorrow. He said all the right and convincing words even as a final offer if you purchase this offer today we even giving you a rental car for 5 days while you are in Fort Lauderdale. I eventually pay off for the vacation and ready to have fun on my vacation.
In 2011 I decided to take the vacation it was a shock, unbeliever, words cannot begin to describe what I went through. I arrived at the hotel in Fort Lauderdale, where I was told I have to pay Tax, for the room which sums up to another $132.00. I was already there so I have no other choice but to pay and enjoy the rest of the vacation. Didn’t want anything to ruined the moment, while I was there I had fun did enjoy the beach, the sand and most of all the beautiful weather. The dinning was good great food, variety of cuisine and especially lots of wine to choose from. It was a great vacation that’s why I was there to have fun and enjoy myself. After my 3 nights in Fort Lauderdale, I proceed to go on the cruise to Bahamas, where I was told I have to pay another $184.00 which included tax, room services, and gratuity. This even brings more pressure on my vacation because its unnecessary money spending, one I didn’t budget for. I guess everything comes with a price. At this point of time there is no changing my mind or argues with any one why I didn’t told that I have to pay all these unnecessary cost. Pay the money and have fun, it’s a vacation; I am having fun and excitement. Since this vacation is costing so much I am prepare to have even more fun. I am on the Caribbean Cruise to enjoy sailing into sunset, variety of food to choose from, various restaurant different cuisines, it’s all delicious and enticing eat all you can eat and have fun, that’s what a vacation is about. The night sets in and the casino say hear I am, the $50 I was offer to gamble in the casino I was told its only for black jack table, since I do not gamble Black jack, I cannot use the $50.00 I give it away to one of the waiter. I had to pay my own money to play slot machine, I say to myself I lived once and I am having fun. I arrived after my cruise and pick up my rental car, I have to pay another’s et of money , for tax, insurance, GPS which amounted to $208.00, I need the car from Fort Lauderdale to drive to Orlando so I had no other choice. I started to think if I had plan this vacation it would have cause me less but I fall for the sales agent picture what a beautiful vacation. Arriving at Orlando Hotel, I already know I have to pay more money, tax for hotel, services charge another $112.00. I am already stress out with the vacation but nothing can be done except have fun and enjoy the smoothing Atlantic breezes blowing your cares away as you watch the most spectacular sunrise. Visiting Universal Orlando studio, everything comes with a price to enjoy, the shows, shopping souvenirs, enjoying the games and the life entertainment. I can understand paying for these services because these are other person choices you have to choose from to have fun. Florida is a place to have fun and excitement. Sadly the trip is over and time to headed back home to pay off the credit card bills that I had occur. In conclusion I would say a very excited vacation, lots of trill and lasting memories to share with family and friends. Definitely one I would never forget, at first it was great prices a very convincing sales clerk on the phone who intrigue me with all the wonderful things a vacation can bring you. I fall for the scheme and pay by credit card since it was a package deal, I never being told about all the other costs you have to pay when you arrived at your destination. Advertisement, whether it’s in person, Tel-market or television you see an AD it a decision you have to make whether you think it’s worth it. I would never recommend this vacation to any one, or would every go on another package deal without finding out the find details in the AD.

...the area of hospitality they work in. Mercedes Flores, former travel agent for Costamar Travel from 1994-1999, describes the changes she experienced at Costamar as the world transitioned into the digital era. Once, many customers would come intro travel agencies for any type of travel service, be it one way personal or business trips to month long all-inclusive vacations. But as the internet became a more readily available resource to the average consumer, the number of customers who came in to Costamar for simple one way or two way flights decreased. Customers who did come in for such flights were of more advanced age, generally because they did not know how to use the internet. In 1999, Mercedes left Costmar. In the year 2000, Costamar became one of the first e-business travel agencies. Mercedes says her location was closed a few years afterward. She currently works as a home attendant. At the earlier stages of direct airline-to-flyer online sales, vacation packages were not as much purchased online as single flights. Therefore travel agencies continued to be a resource for customers looking for vacation packages. Mercedes’ Costamar location found itself in a particular situation since it was located in a sector of New York where the average consumer’s household...

Indeed, it was a perfect vacation. It happened on the month of December year 2011. I was with my family and some family friends. In this tropical country we decided to go to Boracay—an Island cultured by different races. Back at 1950's I heard this place was a virgin paradise and only the natives was to benefit its beauty. At this time this place is the Philippines' most well known tourist attraction. Figure 1: Boracay Island (Copyright of TravellingInspiration) Geography When we got there as like any other places where you can take your vacation, we saw large hotels but around them were vegetation. It is like a hybrid of establishments and trees. It was beautiful to see. There is a region where I saw a mountain where hotels were at the slope of the hill. I came there at one of the Inns and the view outside was outstanding. I said to myself, "So this is how it feels like if you live at the edge of the cliff." It was beautiful! "Boracay Island’s shape is somewhat similar to a butterfly (See Figure 1 on page 3), which is appropriate for its beauty. In terms...

REI offers competitive pay and benefits such as: 401K, vacation, paid holidays, paid sick leave, casual dress, life insurance, disability, flexible work schedule, and educational benefits. All employees who were paid an annual salary as high as $70,000 per year had the following benefits: 401K, vacation, paid holidays, paid sick leave, casual dress, flexible work schedule. Employees with life insurance and disability made a salary as high as $82,000 annually. ...Priceline Case Study The core components of Priceline's business model: The core components of Priceline's business model are based on reverse auction pricing pattern. This unique pattern offers value for both consumer and vendor. Priceline also acts as an intermediary, buying blocks of airline tickets and vacation packages at a discount and selling them at a reduced retail price or matching its inventory to bidders. It is best known for its Name Your Own Price auctions, where users specify what they are willing to pay for goods or services, and multiple providers bid for their business (Kenneth & Laudon 2011). It helps consumers to find cheaper product and service. On the vendor side, it allows them to sell products they might not otherwise be able to sell. Priceline's business model also is known as brokerage. In this model Priceline creates its own market by bringing buyers and sellers together. Priceline operates as the broker or middle man to bring both parties in a systematic environment. Priceline receives its revenue based on the difference between the “Name your own price” amount entered by the customer and the amount charged by the service provider such as the airline.  Will Priceline ultimately succeed or fail?  Priceline has a reasonable business model which will allow them to succeed in the long term. The reverse auction model which Priceline uses to link the sellers with buyers is what has made it profitable. There will be always customers seeking...

Supply Chain

...agencies to get sales. The e-business changed the process entirely. Companies such as Travelocity.com or Expedia.com offer the services from their suppliers directly on-line to the customer. This way, the customer has direct access to the supplier's services, can choose and make its own decision. Travelocity or any such company earns a commission from the supplier if the customer purchased service through their web site. Travel service suppliers such as airlines, hotels, or rental cars offer their regular or scheduled service through the agents on-line system. As an example, Travelocity is using SABRE to link supply chain affiliates and partners to customers. Other travel service suppliers such as ATA vacations are channeling a limited variety of specials, one time deals, or overstock. The on-line process is basically the same as with other e-business travel service suppliers. The difference is that the travel arrangements are not based on a regular schedule. According to G. Schneider companies involved in supply chain management whether on web sites or in a brick and mortar environment should develop harmonious relationships with their travel suppliers resulting in quality improvement as expected by the consumer-direct and business travelers. Travel suppliers should meet the highest standards for goods and services, and be committed to quality assurance, and trust. Such attributes play...

Universal Vs Disney World Essay

...also change the price of tickets depending on demand. So, Disney splits days up into value, regular, and peak days. Most of September, January, and February are considered value, the summer months and holidays are peak, and all other days are regular. Their current rate is from $97 for value, $102 for regular, and $114 for peak, and they do not directly offer special rates for large groups. Also, Disney heavily encourages bundle pricing. Guests can purchase vacation packages that bundle park tickets, flight tickets, and a Disney-owned hotel room, but purchasing a package does not save much money, especially if guests choose Disney-provided flight tickets. Instead, the bundle pricing is sold for visitors who are seeking convenience. Purchasing a bundle also encourages guests to stay within Walt Disney World property for the entirety of their vacation, since they will be bused directly from the airport to their chosen Walt Disney World hotel. Disney also has many add-ons that provide deals to guests who want to plan their vacations far ahead of time. For example, they have a dining plan that encourages visitors to spend more time in Walt Disney World restaurants rather than traveling outside the resort to eat in Orlando. Walt Disney World promotes itself as a fantastic, magical location. Walt Disney World’s slogans even decree that it is “the most magical place on Earth” and it is “where dreams come true”. Unlike most other theme operators, Disney does not heavily advertise its thrill...

The financial struggles of middle class employees greatly intensifies when a facing a layoff. The laid off employees not only deal with the loss of income after a layoff; they also encounter barriers in finding a new job. During the past three economic recessions, millions of American jobs disappeared as companies decided to save money of labor costs by outsourcing “middle-skill” jobs (Tankersley, 2014). Middle class jobs are increasingly hard to find. Learning Team A discussed the financial strain sustained by these displaced workers. The team decided a company’s best course of action to assist these employees consists of offering a severance package to discharged workers. The Severance Package There are many considerations that a company must make when determining to lay off employees. One such consideration is how the decision will impact the company’s reputation with current and displaced employees. Employees will experience a multitude of emotions including anger, fear, and resentment. However, there are ways to reduce the amount of discontent experienced for the company, most importantly, the offer of a severance package. This package should include a monetary portion as well as preparedness for future endeavors. The primary concern for any employee experiencing a loss of employment is money.
