ANÁLISIS # 1

A.

B.
i)

i.

Make's Mores Research Paper

...Making s’mores is a gooey adventure enjoyed mainly during fall and winter. It is a fairly simple process that results in a delicious treat. It is a scrumptious activity for all ages, and is most fun if completed with friends. It’s always nice to sit around a campfire and feast upon tons of these gooey, chocolatey delights. 1. Purchase your supplies. You will need regular-sized marshmallows, chocolate bars, graham crackers, a roasting stick, and matches. 2. Build your campfire. To do this, you must clear an area 29-32 inches in diameter and make a ring of rocks around the cleared-out space. You must then gather dry sticks and small logs, and place them on top of/lean them up against each other to create a pyramid in the center of your fire pit. Then light a match by quickly dragging it along the side of the matchbox with the rough strip, and use the match to light the fire. 3. Break a graham cracker in half so that you have two squares of the same size. 4. Break off a piece of chocolate that is the same size as or a little smaller than the graham cracker squares. 5. Place the piece of chocolate on one half of the graham cracker and set the other half aside. It will later become the top of the s’more. 6. Stick the pointy end of the roasting stick into the circular, flat side of a marshmallow, and make sure the marshmallow will not fall off. 7. Roast your marshmallow by holding onto the opposite end of the roasting stick. Hold the stick out so that the marshmallow is right over...

Carefully Read Nehemiah 8:1-8. Write a Paper Addressing the Following Questions: What Are the Purposes of the Ritual Described in Nehemiah 8:1-8? There Are Probably More Than One. What Institutions and Groups Are

...Faith and teachings were very important in ancient Israel. It was imperative to teachers that all who sought out faith learned in one uniform system. In order to properly understand and interpret the texts and teachings of the Torah, the methods to which it was taught had to be unwavering and exactly the same in order for the Jewish community to flourish. Rituals can be an imperative portion of learning a religion. For example, Catholics rigorously follow rituals in mass such as songs, prayers, and the act of receiving communion. In the scripture Nehemiah 8, the Jewish community follows certain rituals just as in any other religion. One in particular would be the reading of the Torah to the Jewish followers following their return from exile in Babylon and the rebuilding of the wall in Jerusalem. The reason for this ritual was to integrate the people back into their faith in a controlled setting where they could all be taught the same traditions. The purpose was to circulate the Torah to the entire nation of Jews at the same period of time once the exile ended. Once the Israelites became settled after the exile, it was very important to bestow the faith upon them and it was very important that they learned the Torah, whereas pre-exilic Judah had already been devout. Throughout both periods of time however, interpreting the sacred text and teachings was a vital asset to the community’s way of living. The Israelites became the new Jewish community and played a dynamic role in...

Effect of a Paper Plane’s Different Masses on Its Time on Flight

...Effect of a Paper Plane’s different masses on its time on flight The following experiment (underneath) is to do with a paper plane and its mass and time of flight. Here is a chance to experiment with different masses of a paper plane to observe how it affects it’s time of flight. Research Question: How does the mass (g) of a paper plane affect the time (seconds) of its flight? Hypothesis: It is expected that, the more mass on the paper plane’s wings, the time of flight will decrease. This is because more mass; the faster gravity will pull it down. *Independent variable: Number of paperclips (amount of mass in grams) Dependent variable: The time of flight –measured in seconds. X Controlled variables: Throw it with the same force in each throw, and same angle of the throw. Materials:  Stop watch  3 pieces of A4 paper to make paper planes  1 balance  12 paperclips Method: Make 3 ordinary paper planes from A4 sheet of paper Find someone who is willing to throw the paper plane for all the trials in the experiment. Take the paper plane and weigh it using the balance (weighing scale), to note down its mass. Find an open space for the plane to fly freely and take your planes there. Throw 1 paper plane from shoulder level and start the stop watch at the same time of the throw. Stop the stop watch the moment when the plane touches the ground. Record your data and repeat steps 4-6 four more times. For the second trial, add 1 paperclip to each wing...

Int Task 3 Paper Towel Absorbency

...Western Governors University INT1 Task 3 Paper Towel Absorbency A. Project Plan I am conducting an experiment to determine which, paper towel brands: Bounty, Viva, Great Value, or Sparkle is the most absorbent for everyday spills. I will be testing how much water each paper towel absorbs from 60 milliliters of water. · Problem Statement I will measure the amount of water, in milliliters, that each paper towel absorbs from a beaker. The independent variable is the different types of similar sized paper towels. The dependent variable will be the millimeters of water in the beakers. Which paper towel brand soaks up, meaning leaves behind the least amount of water, the highest amount of the 60 milliliters of water? I will test the absorbance of each brand of paper towel by placing each paper towel into the same amount of water for 15 seconds and then remove each paper towel allowing it to drip for 15 seconds. After measuring the water left behind in the pan I will compare the average of 3 trials for each brand to determine which paper towel brand absorbs the most water. · Relevance of my testable question This experiment is important to the real world because that every household has spills to clean up and there are many options at different price ranges to choose from. Knowing which paper towel brand absorbs the most liquid will help every day families make the decision of the best paper towel to buy for their home. · Literature Review: I found 2 projects...

Int1 Task 3

...INT1 Task 3 Do more expensive paper towels absorb more water than less expensive products? By: Gregory M. Herrin Project design Plan When consumers are in the store to purchase paper towels, there are numerous options and brands to choose from; all claiming to be the best product with the most absorbency. How does a consumer choose the best option for the best price? The goal of this experiment will be to determine if higher priced paper towels are more absorbent than the less expensive paper towels on the market. Four relatively common brands will be tested for their water absorbency: Viva ($0.049/square foot), Bounty ($0.046/square foot), Brawny ($0.044/square foot) and Sparkle ($0.024/square foot). Ultimately, the experiment should show which of the commonly used household paper towels is more water absorbent and if price equals value for these products. Literature Review A number of experiments have been completed to demonstrate and/or test the absorbency of paper towels. Len Penzo dot Com, a personal finance blog, completed an experiment on which brand of paper towel was the best value. They tested six different brands of paper towels for absorbency and scrub strength: Sparkle, Bounty, Bounty Basic, Scott, Shoppers Value, Viva and Kirkland Signature. To measure the absorbency, the paper towels were dipped into glasses of water until saturated and then the water squeezed from the towels was measured. To measure the scrub strength, the towels were wrapped...

Paper Towel Experiment

...Design 2 Question: Which paper towel absorbs water the most? Personal Relevancy and Description of subject area: Paper towels are very useful when it comes to cleaning up spills. In addition, paper towels can be used to dry hands, wipe tables, and etc. (Paper towels) There are so many uses for paper towels that Americans last year “spent nearly $2.3 billion on paper towels” (Wilbert, 2003). The reason why Americans prefer paper towels than cloth towels is because they can be thrown away, unfortunately “sending 3000 tons of paper towels to landfills each day” (Wilbert, 2003). Imagine how many trees were cut down to meet consumer needs. According to the Business and the Environment, “270,000,000 trees are flushed down or thrown into the garbage” (2006). As a teacher, I want to teach my students to be more eco-friendly and to save money. Students have a tendency to overuse paper towels and waste not only money spent on paper towels, but also trees that were cut down to make paper towels. I want to show them how much paper towels they really need by doing an experiment of which paper towel absorbs water the most. Also, this experiment will show them that the most absorbent paper towel will hold enough water without over using it in a minor spill. Hypothesis: Bounty paper towels will absorb more volume of water, then other brands of paper towels in a time frame on one minute.
