1. Introduction

Grocery shopping can be a tedious process and inconvenient experience for most people. For some, getting to the store and spending over an hour walking up and down every aisle can be difficult and sometimes impossible. Virtual Foods can make the grocery shopping experience much more convenient and worry free. The revolutionary Virtual Foods System will allow customers the opportunity to place their grocery shopping order online and then either pick it up or have their completed order delivered from the store. 2. Project Scope

* Create a way for the customers to be able to view items and prices through the database * Customers can view item information through the database * Customers can search for items or similar products that are available * Customers can rate and review each item purchased * Make purchases through a secured website * Customers can have it delivered (Delivery fee) or pick up in-store (Free) * Each item linked to database * Database updates the following: Location, Quantity, Expiration, Sales, Coupons, Price

Data costumer methods: * As a customer, I can search for different products and compare prices. * As a customer, I can make purchases online through a secure website. * As a customer, I can have my purchases delivered to any location or I can pick it up at the location I choose.

The customer has the ability to order groceries virtually through the internet for at home delivery or in store pick-up. The company environment consists of a grocery store, workers who package and load the orders, delivery drivers to transport delivery orders, a payment system to process and receive payments, and a warehouse system to maintain product availability. This warehouse system assumes each product can be obtained from the warehouse and will never go out of stock. 3.1. Context Diagram

The Virtual Foods team utilized the user story template provided by (rally software)
This template was indicative in developing the solutions and benefits that will result by clearly defining stories that included; who, what, and why for our project.
Some of the user stories we came up with our project:

As an unregistered user, I will be able to sign up to join the Virtual Foods store, so that I’m able to have a convenient personalized experience.

As a registered user, I want to be able to click and search for products instead of wasting time driving to the store and searching the aisles for unknown products.

As a customer, I would like to be able to find the groceries I need in an inexpensive and time saving manner.

The Virtual Foods project team objective is to provide a more convenient and an inexpensive place for food consumers to select and pay for their groceries online. It is Virtual Foods priority to enable our customers to have a wide selection of products which may be purchased online and then either delivered to the customer or prepared for store pick-up by the customer.
In the past online grocery shopping throughout the USA has gone through several of different phases and online grocery has grown in popularity with customers and grocers. There are many reasons why more and more grocers are turning to online grocery and Virtual Foods would like to enhance this opportunity even more by providing many solutions.
Purchasing groceries online and having them delivered directly to your doorstep will be a tremendous time saver. If you only need a few things it may take a good amount of your time to drive to the grocery store, find parking for your car, and direct your cart up and down certain aisles just to get the few items you may need. By choosing the groceries you need online, and getting them sent to you will save people time and they will be able to utilize that time doing something else constructive.
Shopping online will also have a positive impact on the environment as well. Purchasing online will aim to minimize the negative impact that automobiles will have on polluting the environment. Vans driven by the courier that will deliver your groceries will have a specified number of deliveries. Instead of the mileage and pollution of say ten potential customers driving back and forth to the store, the delivery van can make one trip to cover all the driving that those customers would have had to make. The following are business benefits that will result from the proper integration of solving the solution: * Provide existing customers with another channel for doing business * Prevent other grocers from taking existing customers who would wish to use Virtual Foods * Recover business from other online grocery providers and protect against future losses to any online operation. * Receive new business from both the customer type and through the extended radius a store can cover when offering a delivery service. An existing store catchment radius may be 3 to 5 miles, but a Virtual Food’s delivery radius will be up to 15 miles. * Allow access into geographical areas where it may not be possible to build a store either economically or through from planning restrictions * It will create communication channels with new customers and improve existing communication channels and will spread our product to areas outside where you currently may be able to operate. * Increase sales overall by up to 5% and provide a very low capital investment number by the consumer choosing the in-store picking method. * Complement and enhance the existing store-based business * Will generate net margin figures for any additional store between 5% and 10% * Virtual Food’s will receive profitable ROI within 12 months

The Virtual Foods class diagram defines the class interaction that will exist within the system. Each class has been developed with the attributes and operations that each class will be responsible for. The Virtual Foods system will have a variety of associational relationships depending on what objects are involved in interaction

The generalization/specialization diagram below depicts the products of the grocery store and all the subclasses that go under product. These are the categories that the shoppers can browse when looking at the virtual grocery store as they go down the aisle with their virtual shopping cart picking out items. The in stock out of stock shows the relationship to the warehouse but it is assumed nothing is ever out of stock because it can be retrieved from the warehouse. The order class shows the relationship to the rest of the system so it does not have all the attributes it requires.

5. Java Programming Code

Inheritance will enable our system the opportunity to reuse objects or code by utilizing the attributes and behaviors that may have existed from previously used objects. Certain objects will share some of the same characteristics with one another but the additional features that may exist basically define them as being a different object.

One of the main benefits of utilizing encapsulation for object oriented programming is when the object doesn’t have the necessity to unveil all of its attributes and behaviors. When good object oriented design is implemented within a system, an object should only unveil the user interfaces that is required for the system to interact with. Design details that will not be dependent with the use of objects should remain hidden from the other objects.

Polymorphism can be implemented into object oriented programming such as java language by describing the different sub classes that may exist within a certain parent class because they will have their own unique behaviors and attributes. The subclass will still share some of the same functionality as the parent class.

The following is an example of Java Code for the Virtual Foods program that defines inheritance, encapsulation, and polymorphism:

6. Summary

Team Virtual Foods will proved a painless process to order groceries online and either have them delivered to the customers doorstep or made ready for seamless in-store pickup. Grocery shoppers will no longer need to go through the painful process of navigating to a local store and trying to find all necessary groceries in an overcrowded environment that can be tedious and annoying. Long checkout lines and rude shoppers will be avoided with the hassle free system of online grocery shopping. Team Virtual Foods will also have a positive impact on the environment by minimizing automobile waste and saving customers gas. Customers are sure to love the easy, simple to use system to fulfill all their grocery needs saving them time and painful experiences.
