In the speech titled “The speech in the Virginia Convention”, the author Patrick Henry argues that freedom and human dignity belong to all people. Likewise, Olaudah Equiano in his narrative “The interesting narrative of the life of Olaudah Equiano asserts similar ideas. Both Henry and Equiano support their argument by using different methods. The authors’ purpose is to convince their audience that freedom and dignity is equally valuable to all people.
