Personal Narrative: My Thursdays At Field Experience

My Thursdays at field experience began at 12:42 in Mrs. Hughes 6th grade language arts classroom. Her classroom contained many posters regarding a book they are reading about nutrition and language arts concepts/vocabulary. She had a total of twenty-four students in her class, fifteen females and nine males. While in her classroom, she would often have me to go to a different room with some students that were struggling with reading and turning their work in on time. While with the students I would read to them as they followed along and answer questions regarding an assignment they were struggling with. I found it interesting how much Mrs. Hughes encouraged the use of technology. For example, she would have student’s hand in their homework

First Week: November 24-28, 2014 “New challenges were started, new experiences were encountered, and new learnings were met—all these things came in the first week of my practice teaching experience.” As I was assigned in Vicente B. Ylagan National High School (VBYNHS), I discovered that practice teaching was a very crucial part of a student-teacher’s life. In the very first day of our practice teaching, 24th day of November 2014, together with my colleagues, daily schedule and subjects were given to us and we were assigned to our cooperating teachers. Based on my schedule’s list, I have a one-hour class period in the morning, from 8:20 to 9:20 for English class and two-hour class from 1:00 to 2:00 and another 3:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon for both MAPEH class. It was a big relief to have my minor subject-MAPEH because there were no computations anyway, but having its four components was not as easy as pie. And, the cooperating teachers that were given to me were Sir Jaypee Jimenez for my English subject and Sir Eleno Bandayrel for my MAPEH. Besides, on that day, we also met the professional teachers on that institution, few new colleagues and students with unfamiliar faces, and my major and minor class-9-Onyx and 9-Jade. We the third year IT students and few IS students were out of town and been in Manila for 4 days and a day in Laguna. We headed to Manila last September 2nd, 2012, and arrived there the 3rd of September in Paco Manila. We were accommodated by the Garden Plaza Hotel and Suite. On the same day, we had our first visit in PAG-ASA Main Office in Quezon City, we manage to know and see the instruments and devices that the department is utilizing for gathering data. We had our lunch in Carinderia Buffet by mid noon then headed to SEAMEO-INNOTECH in Quezon City. We had discussions there about iFlex Learning Solution and tour on the facilities. We used the leisure time in TriNoma Ayala malls to do some shopping then back to accommodation.                 September 4th 2012 we departed to Fairview Quezon City to visit HYTEC Power, we saw robots and other IT stuffs. Former National Football League linebacker Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens epitomizes what a leader should be on the field.
