Liam first saw skiing on television when he was six years old. When he was watching I could tell that he instantly fell in love with the sport. Liam would always sit on the couch staring at the TV was just mesmerized by all of the flips and tricks the athletes would perform. It has been five years since he first started watching the sport and he still loves it. Today is November
5, 2017 and Liam is doing a presentation of his favorite sport at school, he has been preparing for weeks and he never stops talking about it. We walked out to our old car, and threw his backpack in the backseat and drove to school.
“I think we should at least try and book a ski trip.”

“But you know how much that boy loves skiing. He always talks about wanting to learn how to ski and I think this would be the perfect opportunity to do it. There is a skiing competition next weekend at the ski hill a few towns away and Tom Wallish might be there, you know that Liam would absolutely love to see him,” I said trying to convince him. But he just sat there with no comment. He looked kind of annoyed like he wanted me to drop the topic completely. “Well he probably needs a break from school, this presentation is a really big deal to him and I think it would be nice to have a family trip once it’s done.”
“No he doesn’t, if anything he should be more focused on school, his grades are dropping and his teacher said that he is always day dreaming and-“
“I guess the teacher isn’t wrong about the day dreaming,” I said cutting him off before he could say anything else.
“Well than should we book a meeting with her, does she want to talk with us about him?” “We might need to if his grades get worse,” I said back to him almost upsettingly.

I looked back at him again. He was using his hands and jumping his fingers along the window. He was really fascinated about what he was looking at. Then the car came to a sudden stop. I turned my head facing the road and saw man standing in the middle of the street that was wearing all of his skiing gear and holding his skis, which is quite odd knowing that there isn’t a ski hill in our small town.
“Oh my gosh, I didn’t even see him there,” he said.
I waved and with a sorry smirk but he had already turned around and started walking away, I looked over at my husband and he was just sitting there stunned.
“He just came out of nowhere.”
“I know I didn’t see him either its okay.” I said back trying to calm him down
We turned the corner and drove up to the school. Then from the back seat we heard a little voice that said, “Mom Dad look, there’s Tom Wallish!”
My husband and I exchanged a weird look. We looked around, but there was nothing there, just kids running into the school. I looked back at Liam and said “Oh Liam I think your just imagining things.”
