Abstract This paper is over the Synnex Corporation. The Synnex Corporation provides global distribution of computer related equipment; they also provide global business services. They market to original equipment manufacturers, software publishers and re sellers. The Synnex Corporation is based out of Fremont California. The company was established in 1980 by Robert Huang. This paper entails the company’s detailed information to include products, services, organizational structure, target markets, their competition, financial information, human resource information, and community involvement. This paper will also include the personal reaction over the Synnex Corporation and whether they should be trusted, purchased from and what kind of company they portray.

Personal Reaction Paper on the Synnex Corporation
The Synnex Corporation is a distributor of technology related materials. An example of what they distribute would be computers, networking equipment, monitors, battery backups, software, peripherals, and parts needed to build computers i.e. processors, memory, motherboards, or cases. They also provide warranties for the items they sell. This allows the customers to put a little more faith in the product they are buying. They carry more than twenty-five thousand active products in their warehouses. Synnex is also a provider in business process outsourcing. An example of this would be that, they help a company hire another company to handle the customer-related services, or hiring an outside company to handle human resources, financing or accounting. The Synnex Corporation focuses on helping their customers achieve greater efficiencies bringing items to market, minimizing costs, keeping the supply chain going and providing after-market support.
Organizational Structure: The organizational structure of Synnex is as follows, President and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, President of U.S. Distribution, Chief Information Officer and then other Presidents or Vice-Presidents over sales, systems, Human resources and so on. They also have a Board of Directors.
Target Market: The target market for this corporation is small to large businesses. The markets that they apply themselves to are the computer and office equipment wholesalers, the contract electronics manufacturing and the wholesale sector. The other target market for Synnex is companies that need to provide technical support for products, and companies that need to outsource some of their departments. They are also able to assist in outsourcing departments such as human resources, accounting, and finance.
Competition: The direct competition for Synnex is as follows, Arrow Electronics, Inc., Tech Data Corporation, and Ingram Micro Inc. These competitors provide the same items that Synnex is able to.
Financial Information: The financials for Synnex are strong. As of the second quarter of 2012 they achieved a 100 consecutive quarters of profit. Synnex total revenue for 2012 was $10.3 billion dollars, gross profit was $657 million dollars, operating income was $255 million dollars and net income was $151 million dollars. As of 2012 Fortune 500 list they were ranked number 253 the sixth year to increase ranking.
Human resources: The benefits of working for Synnex include all of the following, Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Care, Flexible Spend Accounts, 401(k) Plan, Employee stock purchase program, Income protection, Emergency Travel Program, Employee Assistance Program (i.e. Counseling and the like), Vacation, sick and holiday pay, Nationwide Health club membership discounts, Tuition Reimbursement Program, Employee Referral Program, Employees Product Purchase Plan(get discounts on items sold by Synnex and several of their big vendors) and Pet Insurance.
Community Involvement: Synnex is involved in the March of Dimes, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Food Fight a local food bank drive, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Share the Magic, Tsunami relief, Children’s Haven, and Toy’s for tots. They also have a past and present employee scholarship program, called Huang Leadership Development Scholarship.

The Synnex Corporation was founded in 1980 by Robert Huang. Robert Huang and his wife started the Huang Leadership Development Scholarship, which provides up to ten people with ten thousand dollars a year to further educate them. Upon looking for more information about the company I was unable to find anything regrettable in the news about them. Synnex Corporation seems to have the trust of the public or maybe nothing has yet to make it public. The company seems to be a very sound, in that they do not currently have any harmful practices. The business has continually been profitable as a whole. Looking further into complaints about the company there were a very minimal amount. For a company as large as they are there were only four complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Also upon further research through glassdoor.com the company is like most, in that they hire from outside the company and not promote within. This brings with it a higher rate of turn over as the job as seen as a dead end with no chance at advancement. If there is advancement within the company there seems to be a two year wait. This stifles progress of the company’s employees. There were very few reviews complaining about the pay or work time versus life balance.
The company that I currently work for does business with Synnex on a regular basis. We buy computer parts for building computers. We are an Original Equipment Manufacture and our main focus is software. The corporation has always had very competitive prices with their competitors. The software company that I work for has a hard time finding anyone else that can compete with their price, in stock products, and speed of delivery. The company follows through well on the purchased products. Synnex handles drop shipments for our company as well. This provides a service to keep companies from having to invest money to keep on-hand items.
As the company continually produces profitability in the current economy and has done so for more than twenty-five years straight; this would be a great company to take part in. Any business in the current economy that is continually expanding and moving forward as they are doing is great. A company that does not push the employee to dedicate time away from their family is hard to find in the society America has become. This from my stand point puts much more in their favor because family should be first.
