Personal Statement: My Work Background

My work background can help me be a more productive student. The hands-on knowledge that I've gained will allow me to have more to share in class. Having prior work experience has equipped me with skills such as teamwork, communication skills, and business awareness. All of which is needed to effectively get me to a higher level of learning. Having prior work experience will also help me choose a more direct path for my career choice.

I learned from the article that I chose is that life learning experience is the knowledge that you gain and can not be taken away from you. I've also learned that an experienced person is a person who has obtained coping skills, an appropriate character, and a sense of situation (Tone, p. 7, 2013).

Business and Accounting

...Business Plan It is my goal to open a successful women’s clothing and accessory shop in Conway, Arkansas. Conway has a population of around 60,000 people so I have no doubt that with a good location, I will have the necessary traffic to make the business successful. The name that I have chosen for my business is Fancy D’s. This name was chosen because my grandmother always called me Fancy because I loved to play with her old jewelry and high heel shoes. It is my goal to provide personal exceptional service at affordable prices for all women. This business will be a sole proprietorship because I want the success of this business to be at the hand of my hard work and dedication. I want to be the one responsible for making all the decisions for the business and if anything needs to be changed then I need to be the one responsible for making adjustments. As the business takes off, in addition to handbags, jewelry, shoes and clothing, I will expand and add a children’s line of clothing and shoes. Accounting will play an important role as the business starts up. I plan on using a balance sheet in order to group similar assets and liabilities together. The balance sheet will inform me whether I have enough assets to pay the company’s debts as they come due. I will also plan on using an income statement for the business. The income statement will inform me of my revenue and expenses and will inform me of how the company is doing. In order to make sure that all of...

...These pages were downloaded from Writing Personal Statements Online, available at https://www.e-education.psu.edu/writingpersonalstatementsonline/ Short Personal Statement by a Geology Student Growing up in Canada with a life-long fascination for Canadian geography, I have always been interested in returning to the country. Although my family moved to the US before I entered high school, I have always kept my eyes turned north, especially in recent years as I began to read journal articles about research conducted on John Evans Glacier, located about 80° N latitude. Graduating next semester with a B.S. in computer science and engineering and a minor in geographic information systems, I am interested in attending the University of Alberta for graduate study. Geographic information systems (GIS) is a field especially suited to investigating spatial patterns, modeling diverse scenarios, and overlaying spatial data. This semester, in my advanced GIS course, Spatial Data Structures and Algorithms, I am part of a team developing a temporal database and program for tracing historical trading data. My computer science skills have also been put to use in two summer internship projects, where I acquired proficiency with using LIDAR (light detection and ranging) technology, now favored by NASA in its current 10-year study of Greenland and changes in the ice cap extent. Through my coursework and project experience, I have also accrued skills...

Many Many Sops

...collection of lots of sops of lots of seniors. Browse. According to whacko. (Addressed to our batch) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As for SOPs, don't worry too much. All of you have good writing skills. Anyway, my advice on this matter is: [1] Have a look at some SOPs *now* or early next SEM. [2] When it's time to write your own SOP, do it *fully* by yourself. Do not look at anybody else's SOP. [3] Having made version 1.0 of your SOP, *now* take a look at as many SOPs as you can of guys in your area. Borrow points from then which you think are good. [4] Your SOP does not have to be too big. We at IITB tend to write long SOPs (1.5 to 2 pages) whereas IITM guys (who get better schools!)Usually write 0.75 page (max. 1 page). Basically, their SOPs are much more direct and to-the-point than ours. [5] REMEMBER THAT A SOP *MUST* BE ORIGINAL. Statement of Purpose I am applying to Stanford University for admission to the Ph.D. program in Computer Science. I am interested in Theoretical Computer Science, particularly in the Design and Analysis of Approximation Algorithms, Combinatory and Complexity Theory. My interest in Mathematics goes back to the time I was at school. This interest has only grown through my years in school and high school, as I have learnt more and more about the subject. Having represented India at the International Mathematical Olympiads on two occasions, I have been exposed to elements of Discrete Mathematics, particularly...
