Executive Summary
Platinum Box Ltd. Is a small design house and printing operation that is well known for their superior graphic designs in the competitive printing industry. They have announced that they are looking to expand their market into the United States, and in order to do so they need to purchase five new presses to meet the goals of expanded production.
Jared John, the procurement manager from Platinum Box, is charged with the responsibility of making a recommendation for the new presses. This recommendation is based on the decision of whether or not to single source to the existing supplier, Jabaking Ltd, or to engage in multiple sourcing from two other interested parties, Merakuri and Pnutype Press. This poses as an issue since there is a close personal relationship between the founders of Jabaking and Platinum Box. After conducting a weighted evaluation and total cost analysis of all three suppliers, Pnutype press appears to have the best product in terms of total price, quality, maintenance, and product capability. Choosing to use multiple sourcing would give Platinum an advantage in finding the best product in the market to meet the needs of their expanding business.

Issues Identification
• The decision of whether or not to single source to Jabaking with the expansion of printing equipment.
• If equipment is not replaced in the near future, then Platinum cannot expect to expand production or effectively push into new markets.
• A long term relationship with Jabaking could be jeopardized if Platinum does not continue to do business with

...In-Plant Training Report 2nd Semester (BCCT) Brandix College in clothing Technology and Management(dip 16) K.A. Vidun S. Piyasumana 2 INTRODUCTION I’m a student of Brandix College who is studying College Diploma in Textile Technology & Management where my name is K.A.Vidun S. Piyasumana. This is the Report of my second semester of my In-Plant Training program. This In-Plant training will let the diploma batch students to join to different Factories and study the whole process. Since the students are beginners to the field, BCCT provided us a guide line to adjust to this environment and continue that studying with the aid of a Guide Line. As I requested some Factories and as the College appointed me, I had to start my InPlant Training in Brandix Green Plant Seeduwa. Commencing on 14th February 2013 I started the Industrial Training for the College Diploma in Clothing Technology & Management Course under the influence and Coordination by Mr. Dinesh Sampath (HR Assistant of Brandix Casualwear Seeduwa) with so many supports & advisers. Initially after walking throughout the factory, I was introduced and guided to each section to study their process, and collect information under the influence of the department chief or Incharge and also from the Minor Staff. Most of the time I had to subject myself for self study, grab the knowledge by walking to the machine Operators and the staff and also be practical in some operations to get the real idea. So therefore...

...CASE STUDY I.2 Manchester United: still trying to establish a global brand Manchester United (abbreviated as ManUtd, www.manutd.com) has developed into one of the most famous and financially successful football clubs in the world, being recognized in virtually every country, even those with little interest in the sport. Real Madrid has displaced ManUtd from the pole position in Deloitte’s football money league. The list, which has been running for the last 9 years, identifies the top 20 clubs in terms of revenue. The top five in 2008 were: Real Madrid with 3365.8 million, Manchester United (3324.8 million), FC Barcelona (3308.8 million), Bayern Munich (3295.3 million) and Chelsea (3268.9 million) (Deloitte, 2009). Having won the Premier League and Champions League in 2007/08, United would have overtaken Real Madrid at the top of the Deloitte Football Money League had it not been for the depreciation of the pound. The top 20 clubs now generate more than three times the combined revenue of the clubs in the first Money League publication in 1996/97. The most valuable US sport teams, the National Football League’s Washington Redskins and baseball’s New York Yankees, are both worth somewhat more but more than any US sports team, ManUtd has built a global brand. Since the mass commercialization of football in 1992, Manchester United has unquestionably been the team to beat. In the past 16 seasons, it has collected 10 Premier League titles, four FA Cups and two Champion League trophies...

...prospect and future economic conditions largely depends on the commercial banks. In today’s business world, few financial organizations have made a strong place in the market and “Bank Asia” is one of those names. The year 2014 has been a significant year for the economy of Bangladesh in terms of steady growth followed by price stability. Despite the political turbulence in the last half of 2013 and its impact in the early 2014, GDP increased from 6.01% in 2013 to 6.12% in 2014. This is mainly due to the rise in public investment from 6.6% of GDP in FY2013 to 7.3% in FY2014 and decline in private consumption by 1.5% due to lower remittance inflow. Export-GDP ratio increased while import-GDP ratio declined in FY2014. 01.02 Origin of the report: Now a day, education is not just limited to books and classrooms. Chinese Foreign Direct Investment in Australia

...DRAFT Chinese Foreign Direct Investment in Australia: Policy Issues for the Resource Sector Peter Drysdale Crawford School of Economics and Government The Australian National University and Christopher Findlay School of Economics University of Adelaide Abstract The last nine months has seen Chinese foreign direct investment in the Australian resource sector become an issue of policy interest. There are two big questions that the prospects of a significant rise in foreign direct investment (FDI) from China into the Australian resources sector have raised. Is the surge of FDI into Australian mining and energy consistent with achieving the traditional gains from foreign investment? And are there any particular problems associated with investment from foreign state-owned enterprises or state managed sovereign wealth funds? These are among the questions addressed in this paper. The paper argues that there are no issues that cannot be dealt with under the umbrella of the established test of ‗national interest‘ in managing the growth of Chinese FDI into the Australian minerals sector. It argues that a confusion has been introduced into policy over the questions of state-ownership and supplier-buyer relations in respect of Chinese investments and that clarifying these issues is likely to be important to Australia‘s capturing the full benefits from the growth of Chinese resources demand and longer term economic and strategic interests in China. Submission Date : 25th March, 2013 1.1 Introduction of the Study The primary purpose of this report is to get an idea about the operations of Janata Bank Limited, a second-generation bank of the country and make an industry analysis on the banking sector of Bangladesh. Banks are profit – earning concern. The ‘word “Bank” refers to the financial institution deals with money transaction. Banks collect deposits at the lowest possible cost and provide loans and advances at higher cost. The difference between two is the profit for the bank. Commercial banks are the primary contributors to the country. The revenue earning sources of banks are mainly loans and advances. The credit facility can be of two types: funded and non-funded. Funded credit can be expensive for the banks, as the bank has to pay interests. Non-funded credit includes Letter of Credit, which is the main source of income for the foreign exchange business. If a bank can increase its import and export transactions, its profit will obviously reach a higher level, as the costs are negligible. This report is an attempt to reflect the position of Janata Bank Limited...
