...CHAPTER I Introduction Background of the Study This study investigates whether PowerPoint presentations improve student’s learning and attitudes compared with traditional classroom presentations. While the use of PowerPoint and multimedia in the classroom has significantly increased globally in recent years (Connor and Wong, 2004; Bartsch and Cobern, 2003), few studies have systematically investigated its impact on student learning and attitudes. Rebele et al. (1998) note that little research exists regarding integration of technology in the accounting curriculum, and suggest that accounting researchers should examine whether technology improves learning. One study that has examined the relationship between multimedia and student learning and attitudes was conducted by Butler and Mautz (1996). In a laboratory experiment conducted during a 30-minute time period, they found that multimedia did not affect student recall in all situations. Butler and Mautz did find an interaction between the effects of the multimedia presentation and the student’s preferred class representation style (i.e., whether the student was considered a “verbal” or “imaginal” learner). To improve the quality of learning in our schools using multimedia is very effective in the teaching learning situation. It benefits the students to grasp information easily, to understand as much information as possible, to retain information longer and to gain knowledge that is observable and measured. Literally, multimedia...

Powerpoint Presentation on Service Provider

...1.General: Organization, business or individual which offers service to others in exchange for payment. A telecommunications service provider or TSP is a type of communications service provider that has traditionally provided telephone and similar services. This category includesincumbent local exchange carriers, competitive local exchange carriers, and mobile wireless communication companies. While some people use the terms "telecom service provider" and "communications service provider" interchangeably, the term TSP generally excludes Internet service providers(ISPs), cable companies, satellite TV, and managed service providers. The need for ASPs has evolved from the increasing costs of specialized software that have far exceeded the price range of small to medium sized businesses. As well, the growing complexities of software have led to huge costs in distributing the software to end-users. Through ASPs, the complexities and costs of such software can be cut down. In addition, the issues of upgrading have been eliminated from the end-firm by placing the onus on the ASP to maintain up-to-date services, 24 x 7 technical support, physical and electronic security and in-built support for business continuity and flexible working. The importance of this marketplace is reflected by its size. As of early 2003, estimates of the United States market range from 1.5 to 4 billion dollars. Clients for ASP services include businesses, government organizations, non-profits, and membership...

...to things that were beneficial and things that might need to be altered a little bit to be more conducive to the kindergarteners. How did the BYU Preschool or Kindergarten observation help you write the PowerPoint? I loved doing the observation because it gave me ideas of things we could do to implement the benchmarks and Utah state learning objectives in the classroom. It helped me to notice what would be good to use and things that would be better for a different age group. My observation experience gave me insight into the responses that children would give to different activities and to the teacher. How can you implement the information gained from all assignments in your future classroom--even if you don’t choose to work with preschool or kindergarten-age children? Something that I think is a really good activity is having children have buddies from a different grades. So no matter which grade teach, I can make note of the benchmarks and have buddies in different grades and implement those to make sure they get the best experience possible. In general, it is important to take the benchmarks and apply them to the presentations of the curriculum, so they can learn in the most conducive manner to them. What would you have done differently in this group PowerPoint project if it were an individual assignment? I feel like I would have tried to find a little more outside resources to implement and teach the importance of the different benchmarks in the domains—maybe by...
