Mr Praveen

...nkjTurkish news nowadays carry vivid images which have become terrifyingly commonplace: the surface of the sea littered with dead sheep; a landfill explosion leading to a number of deaths; vendors offering radiation-contaminated tea for half-price; a little girl's death resulting from her fall through an open sewage manhole in her schoolyard; radioactive waste sold to unsuspecting scrap dealers; a twenty-year-old tanker breaking into pieces, spilling hundreds of tons of crude oil into the ocean and killing sea life all around. The frequency with which these environmental disasters fill Turkish news broadcasts -- along with the obvious insensitivity of the authorities towards both environment and health issues -- prompted me to learn about ways to prevent these types of disasters. At the age of fifteen, I decided to focus my studies on environmental sciences in order to equip myself with the technical tools I would need to make a real contribution. After earning a master's degree in environmental sciences, I completed a professional international management certificate program in order to gain a management perspective of the field. I then realized that, in order to effectively combine my technical knowledge and management skills, I needed to accumulate real-world experience. Specifically, working at a large company would allow me to develop insight into various industries, as well as an overarching vision of the international business arena. I have now worked for nearly...

Compare How the Poets Present Workmanship and Their Journey of Life and Composing ‘to a Friend ‘Praveen Shakir and ‘on Top’ Gary Snyder

...Compare how the poets present workmanship and their journey of life and composing ‘to a friend ‘Praveen shakir and ‘on top’ Gary Snyder. Introduction: ‘All you have to do then is wait and watch. New life will sprout’. I will explore the major theme relating it to liberation and the journey of life and demonstrate this by comparing style, language and the importance in both poems by Praveen shakir and Gary Snyder and determine if this was expected or intended. ‘On top’ by Gary Snyder is a poem that symbolizes his personal journey to life, and the aptitude of the path of life. the title of the poem ‘on top’ gives a sense of carrying the previous stuff to the top, the structure of layout of the poem has more depth in height of the paragraph then goes lower which relates to the title of the poem ‘on top’ ‘all this new stuff goes on top ‘and where his journey begins. The word ‘inside out’ is an expression of inner-self to express his deep essence. It also shows he wrote this poem quite quickly ‘turn it over, turn it over’ and they rhyme and is a simile and also demonstrates he does want to let it drag. This questions reader the voice of the poem is urging you to not let it drag and the repetition of the words create a vastness on the expression it is trying to create. ‘A mind like compost’ a means of a whole new life. On the sixth stanza ‘let it spread through’ expresses all his emotions are combined together. It emphasises his emotions are in one bubble and makes us feel...

Breastfeeding Vs Bottle Feeding

...In fact, Schwartz states that his research is one of the first to be done on this topic. A man named Paurush Praveen took great interest in his work and composed his own study— The Role of Breast-Feeding in Infant Immune System: a Systems Perspective on the Intestinal Microbiome. Understanding Praveen’s work initially is beneficial because he discusses the importance and the change in microbes of the infant gut. He states that over time, the infants’ microbiota becomes more variable and less stable (Praveen). In the first couple years of an infant’s life, their intestinal microbiome goes from being sterile (at the time they’re in the womb) to containing an immense amount of microbes—the same amount as an adult. Three factors that heavily influence the colonization process include feeding mode, probiotic treatment, and other environmental factors. Any uncommon colonization in the neonatal period can create detrimental affects, including an increase susceptibility to immunological and metabolic disease (Praveen). Therefore, this is a very critical period in which the host must develop the right kind of commensal microbiota to maintain a stable, homeostatic...

Providian

...Harvard Business School 9-398-008 Rev. June 7, 1999 Providian Trust: Tradition and Technology (A) A New CEO Within two weeks of accepting the position of CEO of Providian Trust Company, Stephen Walsh, a lawyer by training, faced an unusual corporate conflict and he would have to play the role of judge. There was an extraordinary difference of opinion between Providian Trust’s internal auditor, Peter Storey, and the leaders of a major information technology (IT) project in the trust division. “Peter’s extremely vocal point ran to the issue of documentation, that it was incomplete and should be brought up to speed,” explained Walsh. The conflict reached a climax during an Audit Committee meeting on May 13, 1995, when members of the committee, who were all on the Providian Trust board of directors, expressed to Walsh that they had lost confidence in the internal auditor and recommended that the external auditor, Steinman & Smith, do an analysis of the project documentation prior to implementation. The purpose of the project was to convert the trust division’s outdated information system into a more efficient system using Access Plus, new trust and custody management software made by Select One. The project had been initiated in 1993 under a former CEO, who had been dismissed by the board, and had continued under an interim CEO. By the time Walsh arrived on the scene, over two-thirds of the $18 million budget had been invested in the implementation of the IT...

A Magical Solution for Urban Schools Reading Intervention Programs

...Unit 9 Project: A Magical Solution for Urban Schools Reading Intervention Programs LaKisha Overton Kaplan University CM220 Professor Kerr March 31, 2014 A Magical Solution for Urban Schools Reading Intervention Programs Reading can be the gateway to a new world. Unfortunately today there are large numbers of inner city elementary school children who struggle with reading daily. For example, “According to the 2012 Maryland School Assessment, 34.5% of Baltimore City 3rd graders are reading below grade level, a figure that is double the state average” (Baltimore City Library Project, 2014, para.1). It’s the duty of inner city school districts to make changes that will embrace the issues which are effecting the academic growth of children. The letters in words are symbols and those letters make sounds. Putting them all together equals reading, and reading is the key to a child’s future independence. That independence allows them to be positive contributors to society. As well as prepare them to maneuver daily technological advances in our society. A child without a solid reading foundation could be led on a path to becoming a high school dropout. “One in six children who are not reading proficiently in the third grade do not graduate from high school on time” (Baltimore City Library Project, 2014, para.1). Many children have low to poor academic achievement. Multisensory reading intervention can be the solution to help break the cycle of poor reading skills amongst children...
