...Basic Presentation Skills: Creating a presentation. What are the most effective practices in creating and delivering a technical business presentation? The presentation needs several things to create a memorable presentation. Presentations need a well structured opening, middle, closing, and presentation aids. The opening will let your audience know who you are, why you are there, and sets the stage for the rest of the presentation. It is the first opportunity to send the message that you are presenting. The middle section allows you to detail your message, provide the support for the message, and should be entertaining. The presenter doesn’t want the audience to get bored during the presentation. The closing allows the presenter to conclude the presentation, by retouching on the points in the presentation. Included in setting up the presentation can be script or notes. Often it is not recommended to use scripts. Scripts can create barriers between the presenter and the audience. Notes are basic information without word for word. Notes are used for most presentations. However, in the case of sensitive information, then scripts would be better. The introduction should include the presenter, the message of the presentation, and a “roadmap” of what the presentation includes. Again, the main message should be a part of the introduction of the presentation. The attention...

...the relevant and very best method of presentation to deliver and inform these tourists. The presentation is to be held in the conference room of a five star hotel where the tourists will be staying. The methods being used for this particular presentation are: 1. Pictures 2. Videos Since the presentation is about a time period, there is much information that will be useful if the methods being used are broken down. PICTURES As the well known saying goes ‘every picture tells a story’, the relevance and importance of finding out about their origins will be better understood using pictures. For example, pictures of the type of buildings they lived in at the time, or the way they dressed, will help them better understand their ancestors’ way of life. The message the pictures contain will be imprinted well in their minds and therefore will be difficult to forget and very effective for relaying information. Also, using pictures for this particular presentation will give the tourists an idea of how things used to be in the past and the significant changes there are now; for example a graphic map of the past layout of the town will be shown to reveal any significant changes over the years. The usage of pictures will also make the presentation very interesting rather than the tourist just sitting and listening to what the presenter has to say. VIDEOS It should also be noted that video also plays a very vital role in this presentation. This will capture the attention of...
