Love Life
Tearing human beings apart limb from limb; snapping spines; stabbing bodies; crushing skulls. No, it is not a scene from a horror movie. These gruesome procedures are currently taking place right now. “It seems to me as clear as daylight that abortion would be a crime.” – Mahatma Gandhi. Abortion is one of the greatest evils to have befallen in this day and age. Some synonyms of abortion when looked up are “disaster,” “failure,” and “fiasco.” When power crosses with human nature, trouble seems to stir. In fact, pro-abortionists seem to think that they have the power to dictate whether a human being will rightly live or will die horrifically.
Without the right to life, all other rights are meaningless. Without life, there can be no freedom, no foundation, no nation. Roe v Wade is the landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion. Decided simultaneously with a companion case, Doe v. Bolton, the Court ruled 7–2 that a right to privacy under the due process clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman's decision to have an abortion.
There is no doubt, Women deserve the utmost respect and they deserve to have the same rights as a man. With that being said, are women really respected by being traumatized and disrespected by means of abortion procedures? Is it right to put women lives at risk to do an unjustified wrong? Even more, if all are entitled to rights why are the rights of infants ignored? Above all else, every human being holds the same values, respect, and rights.
To give an analogy, imagine a man in a post-disaster scene, among a colony of other survivors. They are all surviving off a nearly unlimited supply of just bread and water. They are no animals, no other forms of life. In addition, they are considered extremely lucky for surviving. Years pass, yet somehow the man becomes dissatisfied with the bread and water. He argues to those around him that they have no choice over the taste of the bread and water. As well as arguing that what the colony lives off of may not be even bread or water. So, he gains a few followers and they proceed to take action. Their plan consists convincing the colonies leaders of destroying the water supply and finding a new alternate source of sustenance. Against the protest of a few in the colony the leaders are somehow convinced. Therefore, the water and bread are ridden of. However there is no alternate form of sustenance found and the one thriving colony of survivors are depleted within weeks.
To compare this analogy to abortion, one can say that the colony represents the people currently living on earth. The colony leaders represent the governments of developed nation. The bread and water are embryos that sustain live on earth. The man represents the bold pro-abortionist. Lastly, The few protestors represent the ignored pro-life advocates. In a world which require populations to replace dying ones, the reproduced are suddenly killed leaving no hope for the future. A grave mistake made from the governments convinced by pro-lifers lead to the death of the human race.
It is funny how the term pro-choice honestly means no-choice. The cold hard fact is that no one has the choice to be alive or not. Also, no has the choice to dictate whether one lives as well.
Life is a guaranteed entitlement, not a gift. All other rights come second to life. If all were honest on that simple fact, 470,000 women and 1.7 million babies would not be die each year.
It is interesting to note the case of Roe v Wade began and ended with corruption. In 1969, Norma McCorvey, a 22 years old, divorced, homeless, pregnant woman sought out an abortion. After seeking an abortion in Texas but finding out it was illegal, she headed to an illegal clinic only to find it shut down. Soon, she was referred to lawyers in Dallas, Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee. Two young lawyers right out of law school that were eager to challenge the Texas laws on abortion; happily, using McCorvey as their means to. McCorvey had only met with her lawyers twice-once for beer and pizza, the other time to sign an affidavit that she did not read. After downing several pitchers of beer, they agreed on using the pseudonym “Jane Roe.” In order to hurry matters up, McCorvey lied telling her lawyers she had been raped. Never appearing in court, she found out about the shocking ruling from the newspapers. The baby she was attempting to abort was born and put up for adoption.
Norma McCorvey, later realizing her mistake is now an outspoken advocate of the Pro-Life movement.
It isn’t permissible to bring politics into the conversation of life. It doe not belong there. Life should not be an issue at all. There is simply nothing wrong with being alive. Their might be counter arguments, such as rape of the health of women. However, one cannot treat trauma with trauma, also why not severely punish the rapist instead f killing the infant who was unfortunately conceived. In the case of health It can be justified to put the mothers health before all else but it must be a life or death situation where only the mother or the baby will come out alive.
To end things, a world where everyone agreed on abortion and consistently used it as a way to prevent birth, wouldn’t be a world; the Human race would end very quickly. In contrast, a world where life was appreciated and respected would be a life all would enjoy. Different groups of Humans would not worry about extinction. The only problem then would be that things are too perfect. Maybe one day instead of fighting for death, all can just life life.

...The first piece of evidence that shows reasonable doubt is the uniqueness of the knife. In the play, the storekeeper identified the knife and said it was the only one of its kind he had in stock. Also, one juror stated, “it’s a very strange knife. I’ve never seen one like it before in my life. Neither had the storekeeper who sold it to him.” (Pg. 23-24). Later, juror 8 reaches into his pocket and takes out a knife and states, “Look at it! It’s the same knife!”…”I hot it in a little junk shop around the corner from the boy’s house. It costs two dollars.” (Pg. 24) After discussing the uniqueness of the knife, the jurors decided there was reasonable doubt when the old man’s testimony came into the question. In this play, the second piece of evidence that shows reasonable doubt is the old man’s testimony. An old man lived right underneath the room where the murder took place. He heard loud noises at 12:10 from upstairs. It sounded like a fight to him and he heard the boy say, “I’m gonna kill you.” He heard a body fall a second later, and he saw the boy run out of the apartment. The old man called the police and they found a knife in the father’s chest. The old man states that he took 15 seconds to get out of bed and see the boy run down the stairs. However, juror 8 proves that the old man’s timing was off because it is impossible for an old man, who carries two canes, to walk and see the boy run out of the building in 15 seconds. Also, the jurors prove that the old...

Boston Subway System

...Boston Subway System “One of the biggest plans unveiled by Governor Patrick is a $1.3 billion project by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority to replace and increase the capacity of the 44-year-old Red Line subway cars and the 32-year-old Orange Line cars.”It was reported by the Associated Press in the news “Patrick announces major transportation projects” on the website “http://www.boston.com” on October 22, 2013. We take trains frequently in our daily life in Boston. It’s good news for the people living here. The subway system is an important part of Boston transportation, which has a long history of over one hundred year. But it is too antiqued for the contemporary people, so there are many suggestions and projects to improve the subway system. Compared with the Wuhan subway system, I think some suggestions and projects are impractical for the improvement of Boston subway system, therefore I want to oppose them. Most of the people in Boston thought that the subway system lacks late-night or overnight service. People want to extend the service hours.(Annear) But from my point of view, the Boston subway system’s service hours should be reduced. First, I often ride the orange line at night when I go to the school gym to do some exercise after supper and stay very late. So I can know that very few people ride trains after 10:00 p.m; there are usually less than ten people inside every subway car. It is obvious that the extension of service hours is a waste...

Abortion

...all over the world, and has caused people to debate whether it is right for a woman to terminate her pregnancy or not. I will discuss some of these issues as we go along. I will also, discuss some ethical reasoning about abortion, as well as, talk about pro-life and pro-choice. Most of the debates about abortion, are about if it is right or wrong for a woman to deliberately end a pregnancy before normal childbirth, and killing the fetus in the process. There can be many reasons why terminations take place. The major influence is social circumstances. These range from financial hardship to difficult relationships and family pressure, but their can also be medical reasons for an individual to get an abortion. Those who follow utilitarianism believe that “given a set of choices, the act we should choose is that which produces the best results for the greatest number affected by that choice.” (Mosser, 2012) Some utilitarian’s may ask if having an abortion brings about the greatest good. “Having an abortion because of financial pressures, other family members' needs, education, work - any of these reasons may be justified by the hedonic calculus. Utilitarianism generally supports a pro-choice position. However, the pro-choice movement argument that a woman has the right to choose is not supported by classical utilitarianism. The concept of absolute rights is...

Abortion

...Yvena Noel ENC1101 Miami Dade College 7/24/12 1 Abortion Abortion is defined as expulsion of the products of conception before the embryo or fetus is viable. Any interruption of human pregnancy prior to 28th week is known as abortion (“Abortion”). In some today’s world society, abortion has become a controversial issue because people are becoming more and more aware of the impact that abortion brings in those societies especially in the United States of America and in those who are going through the process of abortion. However, the pro-choice side of abortion believes that a woman has the right to choose if she wants to continue with her pregnancy or if she want to terminate it; the pro-choice think that whether the woman wants to keep it or not is a legal choice. On the other hand, the pro-life has somewhat a totally different opinion from the pro-choice people because they believe “life begins at conception; it is morally wrong; and, it can cause medical and psychological damage to women later on life.” therefore, they are against abortion. On abortion, statistics [shows] that since 1973, there have been roughly about 48,589,993 children aborted for different reasons. But what we [people should] think about is [that] apart from all these reasons for which a child is murdered even before [he or she] finds out what life is; [they continue to say that] it is not our right to take a life, and it is morally wrong to do it too. ...Debate Summary Amanda Missick, Karla Castillo, Kimberly Archuleta, and Kimberly Arzate BCOM 275 April 2, 2015 John Kungis Debate Summary Throughout the debate we chose to discuss the Chris Kyle murder case where Eddie Routh was convicted for the brutal murder of Chris Kyle, former Navy Seal, and his comrade Chad Littlefield. As the debate summary we decided to go with the pro side of the argument, which includes; Eddie Routh's history of mental disorders, how he fled the scene, and the sentence given to him for his murder charge. Not only did this topic make us have different opinions amongst each other, but made us open our minds to different views. Even though as a team we had our disagreements and different believes on the topic, we came together for the final decision of the debate. We believed that the murder trial of Chris Kyle was justly sentenced. Even though Eddie was facing a low point in his life we believe his alcohol abuse, violent behavior and strange conduct were contributing factors that led to his mental state. Living in a city with one of the biggest military bases in the country, we all in different ways are related to military personnel. Some of us personally know veterans with PTSD. It was discussed during our meetings that it normally takes more than a shooting range to trigger someone to relive those experiences that only veterans have experienced. We are devastated that this incident turned out the way it did, ending the life of not only the...

...Zahidur Rahim Md. Zulfiquar Vice President The Premier Bank Ltd. Back To Back LC There are two things involved in importing goods. One is bringing of goods physically into the country and the other is the remittance of foreign currency in the form of cost of goods, service and performances. Unless otherwise specified, import is to be made only by opening irrevocable letter of credit. To open BTB LC in respect of Ready Made Garments industries, let we know what is LC. A letter of Credit is a written undertaking, which is given by a bank on behalf of an importer/ buyer to pay the price/ value of goods or services to the exporter/ seller on fulfillment of some terms & conditions When a seller is unable to supply the goods as stated in the LC and needs to purchase the goods or raw materials of the goods as stated in the LC and make payment to another supplier by opening 2nd LC is called BTB LC. Changing Frameworks in Attitudes Toward Abortion. Sociological Forum, Vol. 17, No. 2, 187-201. The article looks at the issue of legal abortion, and attitudes have changed over the years. The researchers examine how the determinants of abortion attitudes have changed between 1977 and 1996, using data from the General Social Surveys. There are several reasons to explain how the approval of abortion has increased between 1977 and 1996. By the 90s, abortion had been legal for two decades, the population had become more educated and more secular, and other sociodemographic trends were consistent with increasing desire for contraceptive methods. For the study, the 20 years are divided into four periods of relatively equal duration and subsample size: 1977–80, 1982–85, 1987–91, and 1993–96. From this, it is noted that early time periods, whites were more approving of abortion than blacks, that pattern had reversed by the late 1980s. As part of their research study, they used weights to control for the effects of over sampling blacks in 1982 and 1987. The dependent variable was a summated Abortion Approval Scale based on the number of “yes”...
