Introduction and Problem Identification
The paper is based on the review of Business Database Company (BDC). BDC is a company that specalises in the creation of large database and the formulation of these data into report that are sold to business organisation and consultancies. The company operates a bureaucratic organisational structure. As explained by T. Burns and G. M stalker, 1961: Bureaucracies which was also referred to as mechanistic system of running an organisation, “…defines his function together with the methods, responsibilities, and powers appropriate to them; in other words, however, this means that boundaries are set.” This implies that procedures and protocols are being followed to get things done.
Due to the increasing rate in the technology advancement and the employment of the new graduates, the new sales manager wants to embraces a more flexible and informal system which according to T. Burns and G.M stalker, 1961 can be referred to as the “organic system” in which an individual regards his/herself as fully responsible for the execution of a particular task.

At this point we will be analysing the problems facing the BDC as discussed below:
The major problem with BDC is the bureaucracy system in place which is an administrative or management structure marked by hierarchical activities among numerous offices and by fixed procedures. It is a system in which the need to follow rigid or complex procedures impedes effective action.
According to David and Demand (2013) In a bureaucratic organisational structure, authority is generally centered at the top, and information generally flows from the top down. This is the kind of organisational structure being run at BDC. This type of structure encourages a company culture focused on rules and standards, where operational processes are rigidly controlled with best-practices methodologies and close
