* Buena Vista museum has Anatomy, Astronomy, Archeology, Anthropology, Biology, and Geology and different types of since that makes the museum distinguish from other museum in the city. * The museum is offering camping trips during the summer for kids, so these trips help children to learn and explore the world of science. * The museum provides many different activities for children such as tour inside the museum, workshops, and classroom presentation. * The museum has unique specimens of Shark Tooth Hill. * The Buena Vista Museum considers one of the important keys of educational institutions. * Local store. * Enthusiastic and helpful employees. * Wide range of national and international animal mounts. These collections from Australia, Africa, Asia, and North America.

* As a result of the survey, many people who live in Bakersfield don’t know much about this museum. * Lack of parking spaces, people who visit the museum, they parked their car far a way from the museum. * Lacks of sustainability, people drop memberships when their children grow up. * Lack of funding, the museum doesn’t receive any fund from city, state or federal sources. * Lack of staffs and volunteers that make it difficult for the museum to improve their marketing strategy. * Insufficient of school participation. * Tagline doesn’t show up after the museum name. * Limited days operation, just from Thursday to Friday. * Location in the downtown may make people don’t comfortable to visit the museum.

Opportunities (External)

* Significant to make recreation programs outside the museum during the weekend for the children. * Town’s Population is growing in size from different nationalities that can help museum to target many different people in the town. * Chance to reach new target- “middle age”. * Provide new technology such as computers, and projectors. * Provide new collections and increase the staffs in the museum. * Involve elementary schools in the museum. * Communication with some science departments such as CSUB. * Training and development for volunteers. * Involving business companies in the town. * Improve quality of the educational program. * New sponsorships that will help the museum to increase the revenue. * Hiring employees who have experience in science. * Connection and involvement with other museums. * Involve the adults and parents in the museum.

Current situation

The Buena Vista Museum of National History’s has been officially inaugurated in 1995. The Buena Vista Museum considers non-profit organization. All help come from grants, and memberships. The museum continues growing since was opened in 1995. The goal of the museum is to help the children to know more about educational and scientific aspect.

The museum involved Biology, Anatomy, Anthropology, Paleontology, Astronomy, Archeology, and Geology. The museum has unique collections of Shark Tooth Hill in different part in the world. The museum’s exhibit has also unique aspects of African Asian and North American Animal mounts, Dinosaurs, and Gem and Minerals.

The primary goal for Buena Vista Museum is to target the audience and the children and their parents. The museum provides camping trip during the summer, classroom activities, and worships to all the children. Theses activities engage the kids to learn about science and it’s will help the children interactive learning.

Collect the Survey One hundred and seventeen people were selected randomly to participate in the survey. We chose many different locations in Bakersfield to ask the people about the Buena Vista Museum. We asked many questions about the museum if they hear or not. Also the types of advertisements influence people most. The Result of Our Survey * Age under 20 * Female: 7 out of 12 people that never heard about the museum, and only five people who heard about it. The most type of advertisement influenced them is Internet. * Male: 1 out of 2 people hear about the museum.

* Age 21-25 * Female: 3 out of 9 people that never heard about the museum, and the majority of people hear about it. Under this age the most type of advertisement influenced them is Internet. * Male: 5 out of 7 people never heard about the museum. Also, the Internet is the most important type of advertisements that influence people in this age. * Age 25-30 * Female: 4 out of 6 people that never heard about the museum. Under this age the most type of advertisement influenced people is Internet. * Male: 3 out of 7 people never heard about the museum. The Internet has the majority of the influence people. * Age 30-35 * Female: 3 out of 8 people that never heard about the museum, and the majority of people hear about it. The Internet and TV are more influenced the people in this age. * Male: 5 out of 8 people never heard about the museum. The TV has the majority of the influence people.
