Click, Click. Oh No I’ve been shot at! Wait, that’s just Kristen sneaking around the corner with her camera snapping pictures some candid pictures again. What is Photography? Photography is the art, science and practice of creating durable images. Or as Ken Rockwell put it “Call it vision, imagination, or seeing; it all comes down to the same thing: the ability to envision a final result in your mind's eye, and then to make it so with your tools at hand.” My friend Kristen Savonell-Zehner has taken her hobby/interest to the next level, paid professional.
Kristen got her first camera at a very young age and was constantly taking rolls upon rolls of pictures featuring anything and everything she saw. Taking Photography classes in High School helped understand the basics. After high school Kristen went onto college for Radiography, not photography. Over the years there would be the pictures here and there of inanimate objects. Until one day a friend saw a picture of a pumpkin she took and asked if she would mind taking pictures of her and her boyfriend. This was a scary thought as all she had never taken pictures of humans. She continued being a hobbyist photographer for about 10 years, while still being employed as a fulltime Radiography Tech at Boone County Hospital. During her pregnancy she decided she would start charging a nominal fee for her work. Then she got her “big” break, the opportunity to go part time at the hospital and start her “official” business. This was both exciting and scary, as the guaranteed paycheck would no longer be there.
Flash forward 1 year, she has a thriving business averaging 12-16 sessions a month. Fall seems to be the busiest time of year for her. “I’m not in it for the money. I want everyone to have the opportunity to have something special to remember the special moments; to have something to pass onto future

Drug Profile Paper

...Drug Profile Paper 5/17/16 PSY/425 Chemical Dependency in the Workplace Stacey Lederberg Explain the psychological and physiology of addiction: Simply put phycology is the understanding of human behavior and physiology is the study of the physical function of humans. In the following paragraphs I will discuss the psychological and physiological issues of addiction. According to psychologists there are a few different causes for addiction. Some people get into an addiction or harmful behavior because of an abnormality. Another reason people get into an unhealthy addiction because of the environment they are in. The last one is someone’s beliefs or thoughts create feelings that cause addiction because these feelings are not realistic. When you think about addiction there are actually quite a few definitions. This is because there are so many substances that are addictive and each one has its own disorder. Addiction can be many things from illegal drugs, prescriptions, inhalants to gambling, hoarding, sex etc. The cause of an addiction has many factors that encompass it including biological, psychological and environmental. Because humans are wired to seek out reward and avoid discomfort it makes sense that addictions pacify the seeking of pleasure and erase pain. In the brain of an addicted person drugs, alcohol or any other substance target the CNS (central nervous system). The substance causes a hostile takeover in the pain-pleasure...

...Galura The aim of this study is to describe and identify the most common types of coping strategy used by wives who were affected by the infidelity of their partner. It also sought to provide demographic profiles of these wives. The researchers’ motivation of choosing this topic had been influenced by the everyday situation of people they knew who had experienced being separated to their husbands due to infidelity. Also, the media had contributed to their choice because nowadays, infidelity has been featured to many movies, television shows and social media sites. ...Drug use in the United States is a growing problem. It is important for businesses to have an understanding of the types of drugs that are available. This guide will give an overview of stimulants, depressants, opiates, hallucinogens, and cannabis. Stimulants Meth is a highly addictive stimulant that can cause severe damage to the body and brain. Meth has many street names, such as, ice, crank, crystal, glass, and speed. Most of these names are derived from the way it looks. It appears as crystals. Meth can be taken by snorting, smoking, injecting, or by dissolving it in water or alcohol. According to "National Institute on Drug Abuse" (2010), “Methamphetamine’s ability to release dopamine rapidly in reward regions of the brain produces the intense euphoria, or “rush,” that many users feel after snorting, smoking, or injecting the drug.” This aids to the addiction process. For those that chronically abuse methamphetamines, their brain will undergo changes in the way it functions. These changes include both cognitive, emotional and memory issues. The side effects associated with taking meth include increased wakefulness, increased physical activity, decreased appetite, increased respiration, rapid heart rate, irregular heartbeat, increased blood pressure, and hyperthermia ("National Institute on Drug Abuse", 2010). Currently, RFC supports the services of 19 local youth agencies and represents over 150 business Member invested in making it there business to make a difference. After years of frustration in seeing children slipping through the ‘cracks’ of the system he dedicate his efforts to create a safety net of service and funding for abused children so that no child would be forgotten. The agencies that would utilize and implement these resources were in direct competition with one another for the very finite resources they had to provide their services. This competitive design created a lack of collaboration and inefficient provision of services. To address these issues and create a resource that could unite both agencies and community, Realities for Children would have to create a program that would be non-competitive to the agencies it provided for. Additionally, 100% of all funds raised by Realities for Children would need to be available directly to the agencies and the children they serve. It was this extra effort and interest in creating a collaborative alliance of youth agencies, programs, and services that lead to the innovative design of Realities for Children that has redefined the concept of fiscal efficiency and gained National attention. This system uses rule-based Intelligence Technique and implicit User Profiling to judge the proficiency level of the student and generates tests for them accordingly. More specifically it’s a Test Generation, Assessment and Remedial System where the student can give a test after he has completed studying a particular concept where the difficulty level of the test will be decided by the expert system engine. After the completion of the test, the system helps the student in improving the proficiency of the concept either if it is expected by the concept or if he faces difficulty in understanding the concept. Based on the type of errors made in the test, the Test Remedial System will help the student to improve in that domain of understanding of the concept. Every phase transition is rule-based which considers the user’s profile and the concept importance to make sure that he does well where it is required. Preliminary Experimental Implementations show that with User Profiling we can reduce the amount of efforts required by the user to clear a concept. Moreover, with test remedial we assure that the user...

Las Vegas Swot

...Alyssa Miller MKTG 320 SWOT Analysis Las Vegas The LVCVA has a strength with predicting trends and for the most part has been on top of changing their marketing techniques to suit those trends. Las Vegas is one of the most famous cities in the world and it is known for a great and crazy time. Las Vegas also has an enormous customer base. Las Vegas’s image is weak in the fact that it only appeals to some customers. The smaller audience it attracts and that there are almost no options for any other age group besides 21-50 year olds also weakens it. Las Vegas has an opportunity to expand and make it’s business and experience even bigger because almost no one is competing with them. There is also an opportunity to improve hotels, casinos, resorts, and other main attraction buildings with all the new technology that comes out every year. Las Vegas has an opportunity to expand their customer base and try to reach different and new demographics. The business also has an opportunity to try and make its large industry greener. They could find ways to save electricity and water at hotels and casinos and be sure that all public bathrooms in the city have automatic air hand dryers. A threat in Las Vegas’s microenvironment is that since they virtually have no competitors, it could eventually become a boring trend or a place that everyone’s already been to. On the other hand, places like Dubai are becoming trendy with new modern infrastructure and many opportunities to attract...
