America repealed prohibition for three reasons the first is crime people were producing and selling alcohol illegally, and many of these people are dope sellers (Doc A). In document A the cartoon described the main crimes that has been going on in the U.S at the time. It also showed the word “DEPRESSION” in the foreground which indicates the cause of crime is depression. Its rate increased in 1919-1933 (Doc.B). Many americans died during the time of prohibition, the government started getting stronger and passed on new laws (Doc B).
