Online retailers, computer companies, and other more traditional brick & mortar type companies are leveraging social media to boost e-Commerce sales. While other companies appear ready to consider a marketing option that includes at least some aspect of social media, Starbucks, Dell, and JetBlue are not waiting on the sidelines, they are leading the way and have enjoyed increased sales as a result.. Online businesses that use social media to build their brand, and to assist in customer service, will rise to the top much faster than those who don’t. By working on your brand recognition on the most popular social media sites such as Twitter, Myspace, Facebook and YouTube, you can reach a much, much broader audience than traditional marketing methods.

Benefits of Social Media and Social Networking
Sharing content with thousands of followers at once isn’t the only benefit of social media for business. Small businesses all over the world have been discovering the ways social media can contribute to success and growth in all areas of their companies. As a business owner you should learned what your audience need are and effectively expand that brand to new customers. Always pay attention to the feedback that comes from perspective customers. Be aware of your competitors that is in your brand of market. The website traffic to and from your website and make that website as user friendly as possible the social networking is the primary source referrals and generating leads without paying much into advertisement

Benefits and Value of Social Media and Social Networking Most businesses venture into social media expecting to see a big return on investment. The hope is that new customers will come in droves, and that the benefits and revenue generation will be huge. However, this is rarely the case. It takes time to build momentum with social media, and the benefits aren’t always as obvious as we would like. Most business owners that are making the transformation into e-business are feeling a bit skeptical about social media marketing and whether or not it’s worth the effort, following are some reasons why it may be working better than you realize. The best value of social networking is getting your brand recognize through your social networking community. When that brand becomes a social presences it will bring repeat customer to your business.

Risk, Threats, and Vulnerabilities of using Social Media for E-Business

There are a number of security challenges that continue to be sore spots for executives today; and, it should come as no surprise that many of them focus on a common theme: the exponential growth and fusing of Web-based commerce and social media. This means that there are more people, using more platforms, from more devices, than ever before. Extend security vigilance beyond the traditional enterprise perimeter as social media and online commerce continue to grow exponentially, many companies have found that much of their business now takes place outside their security perimeter and firewall. Coping with increasingly complex compliance requirements with the explosion of social media, employees are communicating directly with the outside world and are often completely bypassing internal reviews. Monitoring and managing these numerous social media channels for compliance and governance is a major headache, but it is an essential task for executives charged with protecting their businesses’ reputations, brands and revenue. Each of those users represents a point of vulnerability that can be potentially exploited by a cybercriminal, all it takes is one point of vulnerability, to give criminals the opening they need.

The current social landscape is frankly astounding, with 73 percent of online adults using the 200 social networking sites that exist today. But, the online marketplace is not only impacted by the vast array of social networks, seemingly growing by the minute, but also by the sheer accessibility of today’s information. Right now, there are approximately 2.7 billion Internet users and 6.8 billion mobile subscriptions, and these numbers are only going up. Brand-damaging and reputation-tarnishing events take place online every day, generating significant headlines that diminish business value and affect customer loyalty. In fact, customer turn-a-way from reputation damage can amount to as much as $3.4 million in revenue loss from just a single hour of disruption.

Security and Privacy Impact E-Business Having a sound privacy policy helps you build a stronger relationship with your clients. The greater the measures you take to protect your clients' information, the greater the trust and potential loyalty they will have for your organization. It is important to earn consumer trust online because your customers want to be protected against fraud. Make use of security certifications and encryption technologies that make your website safer to use, and display any accompanying logos that signify that yours is a safe website. Consumers also want to protect their privacy, so avoid asking them for more information than you require. By the same token, unsolicited emails can damage the trust you have worked hard to develop. Make sure you conduct any follow-up in a way that cannot be construed as spam.
