Introduction

For the course ‘Project Management’ of Prof. Dr. Mario Vanhoucke we had to make a group assignment. The topic of this assignment wasn’t specified by the professor but the only requirement was that it needed to be something in the field of project management.
Long discussions were held in our group to decide which topic we wanted to address, which ones seemed interesting or in what area we could make a small contribution. Then it struck us, why don’t we try to bring project management into our daily lives. This all led to the following: the topic we wanted to address was whether the usage of online project management tools on group assignments could have added value.
We did this because working on group works is a major part of our time spent at the university of Ghent so far. This amount of time sometimes brings along frustration, unproductive meetings, etc. But it’s not the only reason, we believe that by introducing some techniques or tools mentioned in the course in our group assignments in the future, we could manage our time better and do things more efficiently. We believe this paper has some interesting insights and can possibly help some students in the future.
Choosing tools that operate via internet is a deliberate decision. In modern times, internet is more than ever omnipresent
