Pros and Cons of Abortion

Cons * You are killing a baby * Could be against your religious views * Could result in deep depression of guilt * Abortions could cause an infection in the mother’s womb, which could make it harder for the mother to get pregnant in the future * Abortions might have terrible side effects such as blocked fallopian tubes, weakened cervix, and uterine scattering. Those side effects can cause serious pain that is almost impossible to cure without an expensive surgery. * Many women who had an abortion, experience premature birth later in their lives. And we all know what that means: babies are born with extreme disabilities, whether in the physical or the psychological realm.

Pros * Teens may not be able to carry a baby without dropping out of school * Rape * Women may have medical issues that prevent them from having a child without harming themselves * The women just may not be able to take care or afford the baby, especially without the help of a male or family * The pain of labor may be traumatic to the mother * The man that got you pregnant may leave you after you give birth * It may be hard for you to form a relationship with someone when you already have a child with a different man * You would have the chance to save up money for when you are actually ready to have a baby, rather than struggling financially when you have the child at an unexpected time. * The women may be rejected by her family if she decides to have the baby

There are many perspectives through which we can argue the grounds of going for an abortion. People supporting pro-choice work towards creating legal options for abortion. They work to make laws that allow people to choose under given circumstances whether they want to go for abortion or not. They are to some extant justified in supporting this perspective. In some cases, the pregnancy is too complicated or dire for the mother to give birth that it becomes absolutely necessary to go for such options. Sometimes there...

Many people believe differently on whether it is right or wrong. [ Abortion ]: Right or Wrong? Abortion has been a huge topic in the United States for years now, and whether it is the right thing to do or not has caused many debates. It was declared a fundamental right by the U.S. Supreme Court during Roe vs. Wade, yet many people beg to differ. The ones who believe it is right identify themselves as pro-choice, believing that abortion is a woman’s right and that it should not be limited by governmental or religious authority. Identifying as pro-life, the opponents believe that it is immoral killing and that personhood begins at conception. No matter what each side thinks, there will always be arguments about it. The choice to abort a fetus is central to a woman’s independence and ability to determine her own future. "A woman's autonomy to determine her life's course, and thus to enjoy equal citizenship stature,” stated by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg during Gonzales vs. Carhart (2007). A woman’s decision can affect her life for the good or the bad, but if abortion was illegal, then a woman cannot make the best decision for herself.
