DQ1
My first response as a male was that the child was probably just being himself. When I fully comprehended the question I concluded that Sally and Bob probably have a rebellious son on their hands. They should calmly and firmly take control of the situation before Jimmy gets too much older and grows to be disrespectfully to his parents. Television could be one of the issues, so perhaps walking in the park would be an activity that would benefit the child. Exercise is good for a child and it also helps wear out the child which could take some energy out of the aggression. Sally and Bob observed. The next day after a good nights sleep, perhaps the child would be more agreeable to the situation. Television I would say has some of an affect on how the child behaves, but I have a son and sometimes he expresses anger but not aggressive behavior.

I think it is a combination of both nature and nurture that influences our behavior. Nature refers to the environmental factors of influence (siblings & family, schooling & peers, and any other external source of influence around them). Nurture refers to the hereditary factors which “are based on the genetic makeup of an individual that influences growth throughout life” (Laserwords, 2009), and therefore influential to the individuals behavior.

There are a lot of environmental factors that are going to influence a child’s behavior as he or she is growing up. Most of our traits of behavior have to do with the environment that we grew up in. For example, if a child’s grows up in a stable household that had structure, most of the time that child is going to display the same structure and stableness throughout their adult lives, and visa-versa. For influence through nurture, our behavior can change due to the limits our body places on us. Depending on whether we become short or tall, skinny or fat, dark or light, etc., has a major influence on our overall behavior. There are a lot of for - instances that can be brought up in each influence that can affect our overall behavior.

Dq4 The stage that is affected by the level of caregiver control is the autonomy-versus-shame-and-doubt stage (ages 1 ½ to 3 years). If the child is encouraged to explore and have freedom, toddlers will develop independence and autonomy. If parents overly restrict and protect their children at this development stage, the child will have experiences of doubt, shame, and unhappiness.

The stage that discusses feelings of inadequacy and failure is the industry-versus-inferiority stage (ages 6 to 12 years). In this stage, the child starts his or her journey in academic and social life. Parents who help to increase their child’s competency in these areas give them a path to successful psychosocial development. Subsequently, difficulty and lack of attention in this stage on the parent’s part will leave the child with feelings of failure and inadequacy.
