Since it is the very nature of terrorism not only to cause immediate damage but also to strike fear in the hearts of the population under attack, one might say that the terrorists were extraordinarily successful, not just as a result of their own efforts but also in consequence of the American reaction. In this essay, I shall argue that this reaction was irrational to a great extent and that to that extent Americans unwittingly cooperated with the terrorists in achieving a major goal: spreading fear and thus disrupting lives. When he was in for his interview, he was told that he would get off Fridays and Saturdays, and he would be making $20 per hour. In actuality, he was working on those Fridays and Saturdays and only making about $9 per hour. The expectations that he had may have gave him a false belief of what he was actually getting into. If a supervisor is hiring, they are going to use whatever tactics they can to try and lure an applicant in to take the job. If he or she tells the applicant, you will get paid $9 per hour to work crappy hours, it will be very hard to get hard working people in that job because they will want to go and get a job that appeals to their personal needs. That supervisor then will hire people who are desperate and most-likely have very little work experience. I do not feel that all the blame should be placed on the fact that the supervisor did mislead Juan however, as I know very well having a part-time job and going to school full time is a very difficult thing to do. Students have tremendous pressure on themselves to succeed in college, and that pressure alone is sometimes overwhelming.
