"Psychology Subfields" Please respond to the following: * Review the subfields of psychology and determine which one interests you the most. Explain why this specific subfield seems more interesting than the others. * It was very hard to decide which subfield of psychology I am most interested in, all of these categories are interesting and have things that I would really like to learn more about. However in the end I feel most interested in would have to be cognitive psychology. Cognitive psychology has been something I have been interested in for some time now. My brother has gone through a lot of mental issues over the last year and is currently going through cognitive therapy. I feel it is a very important type of therapy that allows a person to tap into memories and thoughts that maybe causing their current issues, and I feel it deals with so many different aspects within a person to come to a healthy resolution to their problems.

"Research Methods" Please respond to the following: * Analyze the various research methods employed in psychology to determine which research method seems the most applicable across the greatest number of situations. Explain your rationale (including the single greatest strength and weakness of the methodology you chose). * After reviewing all of the research methods mentioned in our textbook I have determined that the survey method is the most applicable across the greatest number of situations. The survey method can be used for thousands of people or small groups. It can also be used in a general way that just brushes the surface of the chosen topic or it can be a very in-depth questionnaire that covers most areas of the given topic. Survey methods can also be made using sound, illustrations, words only, or any combination of the three in order to get the most honest reaction from the research subjects. I

Effects of Common Behaviour on Memory

...PSYCHOLOGY 110– LAB EXPERIENCE PAPER MEMORY in HUMAN BEINGS SECTION I: OVERVIEW Memory, is an abstract term with no real concrete definition or absolute understanding thus making the word intriguing enough to draw attention to the greater subject of what it is, how it works and why it goes wrong. It is an essential concept in our daily life yet is the most elusive and misunderstood human attribute. Its constant presence in our everyday and its intricately complex mysteries is what ignites my interest in the research conducted in this field of Psychology. As a college student memory plays a great role in our academic performance, from weather we can recall mathematical formulas to recalling something a professor said in class to remembering certain solutions, key words and definitions we read in course material. Therefore from a personal standpoint the topic of memory interests me, as by understanding this complex concept and going into the depths of it’s functioning, I might be able to improve my own. Memory is formed from childhood and I am interested to see if memory is an natural capacity, and if so what factors lead to a better memory and if not can memory be affected by daily everyday factors. From a Psychological perspective memory excites me because the way we remember things and how can help us understand behavior and reactions to various situations. Memory hence affects decision-making and all other spheres of human life. The recollection of memory,...

The Influence of Service Recovery Strategies on Word of Mouth

...distributional justice and interactional justice as a significant unique contribution to the prediction of customer word of mouth. Further research should be carried out to identify the other factors of service recovery strategies that will help in increasing the customer satisfaction towards the organization. As this research was conducted in the telecommunication sector, it would be appropriate if further research can investigate if customers from the other sectors can display similar behavior. It is because different sectors will come out with different outcomes, thus it can help the organization to know the differences between the sectors and then take appropriate actions. Keywords: Service Recovery Strategy, Word of Mouth, Mobile Phone Users 1. Introduction Throughout the last decade, service failure and recovery issues have been the focus of...

In 1972, a new form of entertainment became commercially available with the release of the video game Pong. In Pong, two players tried to "hit" an electronic "ball" back and forth. From these humble beginnings, a revolution in the entertainment industry was born. Interactive game revenues are now significantly greater than the domestic film industry ("Industrial Strengths," 2000). Worldwide video games sales are now at $20 billion annually (Cohen, 2000). The PlayStation video game console, which began as a side project at Sony, now represents $6 billion of the company's $20 billion in annual sales (Cohen, 2000). It is reasonable to question whether video games may have similar effects to the effects of other entertainment media. In this chapter the term video game will be used to describe games played on video game consoles (e.g., PlayStation), on computers, or on hand-held video game devices (e.g., GameBoy).
