From above questions for both data including 1) sequencing reads in the FASTQ format. And 2) positions of SNP on hg19 of Exome sequences of 2000 Thai individuals. Before I use those data, for the first part I got to processing and quality control of FASTQ format, and second part I will create newly assembly by joining of many short reads. After that, I got to annotate and map for detected variants using characteristics such as allele frequency, location in the genome, and then classifying and prioritizing the detected variants based on those annotations. After I finish analyzing FASTQ data, I have data from FASTQ format and positions of SNP on a hg19, and then I systematize both data together in my database such as relationship between genes on a chromosome or SNP variant on gene. For the next part, I will create web page …show more content…
I think my database should have another information to kwon the relationships between Exome information and each protein that translate from gene that associated with human health. Therefore, I need to download other public databases to combine and link out with my database including UniGene, UniProt and Clinvar database; 1) UniGene database is resource of clusters ESTs, other mRNA sequences including coding sequences annotated on genome and identifies transcripts from the same locus and reports related proteins. 2) UniProt database provides protein information. This resource facilitates scientific discovery by collecting, interpreting and organizing protein information that interested in and represent the relative amount of knowledge known about each protein. And 3) Clinvar database collect several genomic variant information that associated with human health. I need to download them because I want those databases to cross reference and link-out about information that associate with my

...In the beginning of my research, I started off by going to the UCSB library homepage and clicked on the advanced search catalog. After selecting the advanced search button, I brainstormed key words for my topic. I selected the words combat* or counter and effect* or result* or consequence* or outcome* and “global warming*” or “climate change*”. The first time I put this information into the search engine I got zero results because I carelessly left out the end quote in the word global warming. After I fixed my mistake, I got a total of 37 results. I then proceeded to briefly look over book titles that seemed relevant to my topic to deduce which books to select for my assignment. Subsequently, I researched for the scholarly journal articles by going to the Academic Search Complete database. I used the advanced search engine and selected only peer reviewed journal articles, in English. When inserting the same keywords I used in my previous search, I attained 914 results. To...

...products, a sale happens in a shop. The cardinality shows how much of one side of the relationship belongs to how much of the other side of the relationship. First, you need to state for each relationship, how much of one side belongs to exactly 1 of the other side. For example: How many customers belong to 1 sale?; How many sales belong to 1 customer?; How many sales take place in 1 shop? You'll get a list like this: (please note that 'product' represents a type of product, not an occurrence of a product) • Customers --> Sales; 1 customer can buy something several times • Sales --> Customers; 1 sale is always made by 1 customer at the time • Customers --> Products; 1 customer can buy multiple products • Products --> Customers; 1 product can be purchased by multiple customers • Customers --> Shops; 1 customer can purchase in multiple shops • Shops --> Customers, 1 shop can receive multiple customers • Shops --> Products; in 1 shop there are multiple products • Products --> Shops; 1 product (type) can be sold in multiple shops • Shops --> Sales; in 1 shop multiple sales can me made • Sales --> Shops; 1 sale can only be made in 1 shop at the time • Products --> Sales; 1 product (type) can be purchased in multiple sales • Sales --> Products; 1 sale can exist out of multiple products Did we mention all relationships? There are four entities and each entity has a relationship with every other entity, so each entity must have three relationships, and also appear on the left end of the...

...Task 1 explores a little bit into confidence interval and how the width can be affected by the sample size. Students are expected to acquire the mean (average) of a normal population with a population variance of 1 and a confidence interval of 95%. In this task, we will see the relationship between sample size and width in detail by plotting graphs. We will also explore on the accuracy of an interval and how it can be increased or decreased by varying the value of the width. Variance, σ^2 = 1 Standard deviation, σ = 1 Confidence Interval: 95% From the formula to obtain width, The sample sizes of n = 25, 49, 64, 100 and 400 are substituted into the formula above to obtain the other values of width. The values are tabulated in a table below. hence the graph does not pass through the origin. It can be stated that as the sample size increases, the width will decrease. The higher the sample size,...

...In the beginning of the semester I had many questions that I wanted to answer to my inquiry question, now I have all the answers. I learned so much about bilingual students that I would have nerve thought I would have learned. I learned that the teachers often are supporting students as young writers with read aloud in classrooms, side by side work with doing written activity and share time. In my inquiry project I did a lot of reading aloud and activities that included writing. I notice that I help support the student as a young writer with all my activities and read aloud. Also the read aloud was the best way to support my student because there’s listening, thinking and conversation as I read. Author Judith and Collins emphasize that book reading and conversation support the development of oral language and content knowledge. I learned that the students were able to use literacy to express their emotions. My student was able to express her emotions verbally and through drawing. Schickedanz and Collins (2013) ,”Children typically set out to draw with intention, and they use details that help convey their meaning. I learned that through literacy, children able to learn about how to express their emotions and regulate their behaviors. Schickedanz and Collins(2013),”A broad vocabulary learned from stories includes words, such as sad, astonished, distraught, knowing, remembering, forgetting, wondering, thinking, and wishing, all of which help children understand a story’s characters...

...The task was simple: write an essay based on this prompt, “A Biola University education is designed to equip students for a life of following Jesus. The Bible plays a significant role in the life of a Christian. Using meaningful verses from the Bible, in 1-2 pages please respond to both of the following prompts: 1. Describe how and when you made a decision to follow Christ 2. Using personal examples, share about your growth as a Christian over the past 3 years.” Yet, the the essay was much more difficult to write than expected. Not only did I have to meet the essay requirements, I was also attempting to win over the admissions board to be accepted into Biola University. I remember as I wrote this essay, I was terrified. Seeing as my father is a Language Arts teacher, I always felt pressured to have “perfect” writing. Always keep your formal writing in the third person. Do not use contractions. Make your essay fight for your topic, not against it. All the added...

...The rhetoric refers to techniques to persuade the audience. When considering the rhetorical situation the first thing I consider is who is my audience? What does the audience already know? What does my audience care about? You have to find how I am going to communicate my message to the audience. Making sure that I convey a proper way to persuade the reader. After selecting a topic I need to think about specific questions I want to address in my research questions. I ask myself do I want my question to be clear, focused, or complex. The research questions are going to help focus on a broad topic and specific issue to help develop search terms for my research. Identifying research questions by selecting nouns important to the meaning of your questions and leaving out ones that don’t help. Concept mapping helps refine your questions as you focus on your topic. Using strategic searching to find answers to my topic, I need to find appropriate research questions. Why does this topic matter to me? Why should it matter to others? My research question should not have a simple yes or no answer but require research and analysis. Also I can use synonyms to help expand my search. That will give me a wide range or define my search to just the words I want to search within the database. I will use the Herzing online library to do my research. When evaluating sources for research its several different things you need to look for. ...In this assignment, we will be analysing the system of Figueroa’s Framework and how it is incorporated within Lifesaving. Lifesaving is massive in Australia because of the vast number of beaches in this country. Lifesavers greatly contributes to the Australian culture by keeping people safe in the surf. There are three main levels of Figueroa’s Framework which are the Cultural, Interpersonal and Individual levels. These all have great effects on different people throughout the sport of Lifesaving. We will also be assessing a personal analysis with my experience of the Interpersonal level within Lifesaving. Personal Reflection Lifesaving has been a completely new experience for me. I’d never tried it before and non-casual swimming is not really my forte so I did struggle a little bit through it all. One massive thing that helped me get through it, it particular the 300m swim, was the mutual motivation between Blake and me; and this is where the interpersonal level of Figueroa’s Framework affects this activity. This extra level of motivation and encouragement from a friend really helps to finish, no matter how your body feels. I was having struggles with the 300m swim because I’m not a great swimmer. I am capable of swimming but have never done it at a level where I had to do it in...

...At the start of this assignment I felt pretty certain in what answers I gave on the paper, or at least that I had gotten the numbers pretty close to accurate. However, after the real data had been given out I realized that I had in fact not been accurate. On the male to female ratio I guessed 52 males to 48 females, which ended up being the one section I was most accurate about. Ever other section had been relatively far from what I had assumed, in world geography my numbers looked like this: 27 Asians, 24 Africans, 16 Europeans, 20 Latin Americans and 13 North Americans. The actual numbers looked very different, and were a lot less spread out between the different groups. I think I can attribute this error to my lack of knowledge on the geography of our world, and not knowing how big or small a country is, but beyond that, not knowing how heavily or little populated a place is....

... The typical hardware associated with a computer includes but are not limited to input devices such as mice, keyboards and webcams. Output devices like monitors, speakers and printers and your different types of memory (CPU, RAM, SSDs.) The computer’s data storage process consists of tiny electrical power charges in microscopic capacitors. When a computer is turned off the capacitors that your data is stored on lose their charge which is why computer memory goes blank when it is off. For data that is stored for longer periods of time, it is stored as a magnetic pattern on a spinning disk. A program is a set of instructions that a computer follows in order to perform a task. A program is run by the computer’s CPU or Central Processing Unit. Each instruction in a program tells the CPU to perform a specific operation. Machine Language: Language that CPU understands. It is always written in binary. Assembly Language: Language that consists of short words known as mnemonics. It was created because it was impractical for people to write programs in machine language. High-Level Language: Allows people to create powerful and complex programs without knowing how the CPU works, and without writing large numbers of low-level instructions. Compiler: Program that translates a high-level language into a separate machine language program. Interpreter: Program that both translates and executes the instructions in a high-level program. As described earlier in this paper, I mentioned...

...The new scoring system has a dramatic change and is potentially game changing, as the scores will escalate by increasing the amount of corners and decreasing the amount of goals. My investigations that are displayed in the tables above have shown all the scores that are possible under 50. Table 1 illustrates all the possible scores if a team were to only get goals; table 2 shows all the possible scores if the teams were only to get corners and table 3 shows all other possible scores of goals and corners. Table 1 demonstrates all the multiples of 8 as each goal represents 8 points and this is the same for table 2 although is all the multiples of 3 that are less than 50. From each of these tables I have found that there are only 9 impossible scores. I gathered that 1,2,4,5,7,10,13,34 and 37 are all scores that are less than 50 and are not possible due to the goals and corners not adding up to these numbers. For example, scoring a corner is 3 points and therefore 1 and 2 are impossible. Another impossible score is 7 as 2 corners=6 and added another corner= 9 so therefore 7 is impossible but 8 is possible as they could score one goal which equals 8. Furthermore, you couldn’t get a score of 4 due to:...

...Scenario 6 Additionally, in order to calculate the probability that exactly 1 marriage will be in the stock, one would apply the same formula as before. Since the stock is composed only of three cards, there could only be 1 marriage. There are 22 possible cards to receive (n) which are not a marriage since there can only be 1 other card (r). It doesn't matter whether the other card would be a pair card or not since it couldn't be a marriage by itself. There are four diverse marriages which means there could be four various marriages with 1 different card from the 22 other cards. This probability is extraordinarily low. It's the lowest probability of all. From my personal experience playing this game, it seems to be true, however, in an actual game the fact that players get cards one by one and not in a row, alters the probability and decreases it even more. The probability of getting exactly 1 marriage in the stock is exceedingly low itself. Rarely does it happen, that there is a pair in the stock which supports this calculation....

Output is produced. 4. What does the term “user- friendly” mean? The term user- friendly is commonly used in the software business to describe pro-grams that are easy to use. Programs that do not display adequate or correct instruc-tions are frustrating to use, and are not considered user- friendly. One of the simplest things that you can do to increase a program’s user- friendliness is to make sure that it displays clear, understandable prompts prior to each statement that reads keyboard input. 5. What two things must you normally specify in a variable declaration? You must specify the variable type and an identifier 6. What value is stored in uninitialized variables? Some languages assign a default value as 0 to uninitialized variables. In many languages, however, uninitialized variables hold unpredictable values. Algorithm Workbench 1.
