About Purdy’s chocolates
Nestled in the lushness of Vancouver, British Columbia, a tradition sprang from the love of chocolate and the love of people. Richard Carmon Purdy opened his first chocolate shop in 1907 on Robson Street in Vancouver. His reputation for superb chocolates grew, earning him the respect of chocolate lovers throughout Vancouver. Since 1907, one thing has remained constant at Purdy’s — a commitment to quality and tradition.
The Flavelle family, who has run Purdy’s Chocolates since 1963, has upheld the traditions of its founder and continues to demonstrate an unmatched passion for chocolate. Even today, Purdy’s insists on the highest of product quality. Purdy’s Chocolates are made using only the finest ingredients from around the world including chocolate from Belgium, ginger from Australia, cashews from India, and dairy products delivered fresh daily from farms across Western Canada.
Care is taken to ensure each batch of creams curls just right; nuts are roasted to perfection; caramel flavour bursts as it fills your mouth; and Hedgehogs have that silky, smooth texture that our customers have come to expect. Purdy’s ‘Sweet Day’ In celebration of Purdy’s very own ‘Sweet Day’ Glee club competing on Canada Sings in support of the MS Society of Canada we have created a “Star” chocolate! “The box will be dressed with the Canada Sings logo and it will really stand out in our shops.” says Kriston Dean. “We want everyone to tune in to watch us compete and see what our amazing culture at Purdy’s is really like. We are hard working and we have a ton of fun!”

April 25th is Administrative Professionals Day – an excellent time to show your ‘Genuine Appreciation’ for the hard work and dedication of the people who are crucial to the success of your business. For the 5th consecutive year at Purdy’s support office, the Executive team will be preparing breakfast for each and every member of our team as a way of saying ‘thank you’ for doing such a great job all year round. Purdy’s Chocolates will be featured in the W Network’s fall season of Undercover Boss Canada where CEO level executives take to the factory floors and discover the effects their decisions have on the unsung heroes of their companies. Our very own Kriston Dean, Director of Chocolate Merchandising and Marketing embarks on an emotional journey when she goes undercover in our shops and chocolate factory to work the front lines with great Purdy’s people. “I have had the privilege of meeting a number of Canada’s most extraordinary business leaders thanks to Undercover Boss Canada,” said Thomas Howe, Executive Producer. “They are an amazingly talented group. It has been humbling witnessing the reactions of hard working extraordinary people when they realize their bosses have appreciated the important jobs they do.”

4- Registered Retirement Savings Plans: Group RRSP's are a type of employer sponsored savings plan. They are very similar to regular RRSP's in regards to the tax benefits provided and the contribution limits. The difference is that the contributions made to a Group RRSP are made in pre-tax dollars deducted right off employee paycheque. The other portion of the Group RRSP is the portion that the employer contributes. This is usually done on a matching basis.
