REM Behavior Disorder (RBD) is a condition marked by the absence of atonia during the REM portion of sleep. Classified as a parasomnia, it is more often than not, a precursor to other neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease. When sufferers report complaints, they are that of frightful dreams and physically acting-out portions of their dreams which can be harmful to the patient and to those who sleep in the sufferer’s vicinity.
