Aug. 25, 2011, a seminar has been held at the SJH building for the college of hospitality management. It’s about the self-acceptance and proper clothing as a professional. Our first speaker is Mr. Rennier T. Perez and his topic is “Masking Off: Self-Acceptance Challenge”. As the topic said, it’s about self-acceptance of what who we are. He told us about his life, about how he live eventhough he is obese. He taught us how to develop our self esteem. He said that we can rely on our friends. They are the one who will help us gain our self-esteem, accept ourselves and eventually remove our face mask that hides our true self. Then that last thing he taught us is how to self-improvement. And as he said “the real essence of self- acceptance is the self-importance and self-improvement. I’m proud and happy that I met him, not because he’s been a part of biggest loser. But he really motivates us to be what who really we are. He gave us tip on how to gain our confidence and improve us to be a better worker, a better person, and better than what we can be. The next speakers are Mr. Marco Madlambayan and Mr. Noel Calma. Their topic is “Corporate image enhancement”. Mr. Marco Madlambayan speaks first. He open the topic about the basic wardrobe/clothes. He told us about how we will dress properly in a certain situation and then the basic clothing (underwear, socks, shoes and etc.). After that he told us about the proper attire as a professional men and women. The last is the do and don’t of what we will wear. Then Mr. Noel Calma takes the floor. He shows us what Mr. Marco Madlambayan taught us. He corrects us about our mistakes in wearing our corporate attire and school uniform. He also taught us how we will enhance look better on our attire/uniform. To Mr. Marco Madlambayan, I think he really not used to speak in front of many people like us or he is not prepared because I’m a little bit bored on him. While to Mr. Noel Calma eventhough he doesn’t have a copy, he knows what he’s saying.
