Current issue in Peru(ecotourism)
Introduction
Ecotourism is a new and developing industry that has great potential to help protect the rainforest of Peru and the indigenous peoples that survive within it. The International Ecotourism Society defines it as "responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people."
Present
Nowadays travel agency can offer different options of expeditions in Peru, for ex :expedition in the Andes mountain range, explorations in the Amazon Basin ets. Peru houses the highest diversity of fish, birds, and butterflies on the planet and ranks third in amphibians and mammals. These statistics all contribute to the ecotourism possibilities in the country of Peru.
The International Ecotourism Society believes that Ecotourism will keep the impact of tourism minimal and also create awareness for conservation and provide benefits for the environment
Current Issues
Today, there are many indigenous and ethnic groups that remain are fighting for survival. The industry of ecotourism can help to understand the importance of protecting indigenous peoples. It empowers local communities to thrive, even while integrating their lives with tourists. The ecotourism field needs to keep developing in order to help sustain the people and wildlife within the Amazon.
While the livelihoods of indigenous peoples are at stake, the rainforest is also in danger. The rainforest has been abused through deforestation projects such as logging, agriculture, the fuel wood industry, the construction of dams, and mining as well as colonization, unrestricted tourism, and the wildlife trade.
Some critics believe ecotourism is good for Amazonian wildlife. In some cases, they say it may even protect areas that are vulnerable. For ex^Areas near rivers are vulnerable to settlers and ecotourism in the Amazon tends to focus on these areas providing significant benefit

One successful example for ecotourism is the Chaparri Ecological Reserve. The protection of the local community is helping the habitat of the reserve to regenerate naturally. This is supporting the wildlife and allowing threatened populations to recover (Chaparri Reserve).
One of the most recent triumphs of indigenous communities in Peru is the fight against Brazil construction company. 10 years ago, the Ashaninka were granted Communal Reserve rights to a part of their lands, in the form of Otishi National Park. In June 2010, however, the Brazilian and Peruvian governments signed an energy agreement that allows Brazilian companies to build a series of large dams in the Brazilian, Peruvian, and Bolivian Amazon. The dam will require the burning of thousands of acres of forest, will drown the Ashaninka villages situated upstream, and will open up other areas (for ex cattle ranching, mining, and plantations). This is an excellent representative of the issues faced by indigenous communities of the Peruvian Amazon.
Looking Forward
The problems addressed within the industry of ecotourism include the need for an increased protection of indigenous peoples and environment of the Peruvian Amazon Basin. Challenges with these problems surround the non-sustainable logging and timber industries as well as dam construction, colonization, mass tourism, and the wildlife trade. Most of these industries have affects on the indigenous communities as well as the environment. Solutions include building an awareness of these issues through education and other resources that reach communities around the globe.
Nowadays indigenous peoples and environment are in danger and development of ecotourism in peru can help to protect them .
One of the ways in which eco tourism can help, especially in visiting remote locations or developing countries is in raising awareness on the issues in that country. As the values of ecotourism become more mainstream, visiting a poor country raises awareness on the political, economic and social problems that plague many developing nations.
